No-one plays the cello with as much heart and depth of feeling as Claudio Casadei. These sonatas are wonderfully melodic and full of inner life and sensibility, and Casadei and Tasini bring every nuance to life here. I have had the cd of this performance for years now. It is a great treasure that I return to over and over again. So few players speak with such emotional eloquence or as directly from the heart as these. A profound Thankyou to them, should they ever read this, and of course to Marcello himself.
