Great reaction!.. I think the live version taken from the concert in LA in 2021 and the one included in the live performance compilation "Red, White and Bruised: The Midnight Live" sounds more powerful.

Man this footage falls far short of doing justice to the level of their live light show. they needed to pull out on the camera. To add to your comment about whether they are synth-wave. Yes, they are in the synth-wave genre. Being a synth player from the 80s what this genre has going for it, is that the sonic texturing of the classic 80s elements gives us a familiar element to connect to, but with the new narratives, it doesn't get weighted down by the anchors of memory like the original 80s music. So it connects to what is happening in our lives now rather than the past. And what is so approachable about this genre now is that there are a handful of acts within it that are much better songwriters and musicians than many of the synth-based groups from the 80s. Partially as a result of the technology being so much easier to work with and the greatly increased quality of the production equipment. So the acts like The Midnight stands out above what we had back then. With a few exceptions.

Midnight is an amazing band with their nostalgic music, sadly whoever made this song recommendation to Mike and Ginger was not apt. Mike and Ginger should check out Lost Boy, Sunset, somebody to dance, Collateral songs from this band to get real flavor of this band

Tina S. Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement", 2Cellos "The Trooper Overture" and the TNT Boys "Flashlight". By putting them here maybe one of your subscribers or patreons will see it and suggest it to you. And because you like theatrics you should check out Dimash's new music videos "Golden" and "Be With Me", also NF "Story", which is Oscar worthy.
