This time we take you to Óbidos, this picturesque, well-preserved castle town that's just an hour ride from Lisbon, close to the Atlantic coast. 😍
Feel the atmosphere of the medieval age, as you can walk along the castle walls, wander around its labyrinthine cobblestone pathways and then explore its churches, squares, shops and markets. It's a town that's also popular for its chocolates (with its annual chocolate festival), ginginja, the sweet cherry liqueur that's native to this place, and love for literature (UNESCO recently named it as a "city of literature") with so many bookshops around the town. ❤️
We also take you to the beautiful scenery of Lagoa de Óbidos and Praia da Foz do Arelho, two wonderful coastal sights that are just nearby. We enjoyed this great trip with our entire Cheese & Wine team, appreciating each other's company and relishing the splendid countryside. This is also one of the excellent day trips you can make outside of Lisbon! ✨
