Spike Lee unknowingly named a character after one of his ancestors!

Spike Lee searches for his mother's ancestors, Lee said that he had called his grandmother to ask for a name for the character. His grandmother gave him the name "Mars", but that wasn't totally made up.

I unknowingly named my son after his Finnish paternal great grandfather, using the American version of his name. I also named my dog (first and middle name) after a great, great aunt and didn’t know until I started my ancestry search. 😂
