The rewatchability of this movie is entirely because of the lack of black and white characters in the film. You see two countries at the brink of war and their respective people working to protect their own. There's no hero or villain per se.

The movie is based on Book Calling Sehmat. But in movie the story is somewhat distorted from actual reality according to the writer of the book
Yeah, coincidentally I read the book just last week. I really wish they had shown Sehmat's parents love story and her own love story in college before she marries Iqbal. What a lost opportunity :(

Welcome back Vivian and Brandon. You guys are reacting to what I would call it as “Pre RAW (India) versus ISI (Pakistan)” wars aka the origins of before the events of “Yash Raj Film Spy Cinematic Universe” from my perspective.
Plus Fun Fact: the woman who plays Sehmat’s (Alia Bhatt) mom in the movie is actually Soni Razdan aka Alia Bhatt’s real life mom.
Plus Vicky Kaushal did put up a lot of preparation in that role, because when Vicky went to the same Indian Comedy Show - “The Kapil Sharma Show” to promote his 2019 movie “URI - The Surgical Strike” (which is based on the real life 2016 events), Kapil as a joke told him: “You actually did the film so that you can learn their secrets and use that against them in the movie…” 😏🤣😅 like he said something like that to which Vicky said yes in the show 😅, making us die with laughter 🤣😅

I'm glad I get to watch some of the same movies that people before me have watched, because I wouldn't want to miss out on those. It's really giving me a good grasp of great Indian Cinema.

I dont find Raazi or Uri great movies 😅. I mean they’re not super intelligent stories, they’re just basic storylines that are famous because of its patriotic themes 😂😂
I would disagree with you here. Though I hate propaganda movies but Raazi and Uri are far from it. They are good movies. Simple premise executed perfectly. Same thing like Bridge of Spies, etc.

Not every movie needs an epic story for it to be a good movie. The execution matters. Take example of MAD MAX: Fury Road. Just a long chase but the way it was implemented -EPIC.
Haven't watched URI yet, but Raazi is one of my favourite... not just because it's patriotic, but because of the storyline... it keeps you at edge of the seat, in the mid-movie...
Also what's wrong in being patriotic!!! Do you think, dictatorship would have been fun to us!!! Be thankful that someone fought for your freedon...
And I saw your other comment saying, patriotic ho to, give your money to erase poverty!!! Like seriously!!! Don't you have food to eat, or shelter to live in or clothes to wear!!! You yourself have an android phone!!! Poverty shouldn't be erased by giving money or free gifts, it should be given in the form of opportunities!!!
