  • It got a little rowdy inside the Lazy E Arena when the one and only Victory Farms jumped in to bid on Blackkout, a 2021 stallion by Winners Version and out of the great mare, RC Back In Black x Ninety Nine Goldmine. They broke the Pink Buckle Stallion Select Owners Sale record with this $875,000 sale today. Full story and sale details at BarrelRacing.com

These kinds of prices are really really bad for the sport, really really bad. Hes really not even that spectacular. They gain the buzz by overpaying for him and get some quick money upfront. Im sick of the way breeding and selling is happening anymore its pitiful.

Agreed! And there's so much inbreeding. Like same grandfather on top& bottom of the pedigrees and they go for crazy money. So many of these horses are related and bred anyways. It's going to destroy the breed. @@kharichristopherson9051

I mean everyone is just oh WOW awesome...but it's not.
In the 80s this happened in the Arabian business and the wealthy owners pushed amateur owners (the backbone of the horse industry everywhere) OUT because amateurs, beginners, and the backyard breeder out at their farm see this and either overbreed or jack prices up so high it makes buying impossible for the amateur to buy, or they get discouraged in even attempting to move forward in the industry, and its already happening. This colt is by a stallion that is already standing, still breeding at $3100 stud fee and out of a mare with a TON of other foals. The new owner was stating he's an " outcross"...um no sir, he's really not. His dam is by a Strawfly Special son out of a First Down Dash/ Merridoc/Mckay mare...soooo HM. Nice colt, cool name...ridiculous price.

His dam was an nfr round winner, and has progeny earnings of over 800k with very limited offspring.

@@clairwilderman5242 His dam has OVER 10++ foals...and the stud is still standing and breeding...so did you read what I wrote or just decided to print a fact sheet?

@@user-bn8vz5wz7n Yes, 10 foals is a lot for a mare, but for a stud, that’s nothing and for 10 foals to have 800k progeny earnings, that’s pretty damn impressive.

This horse would better be push button , rodeo ready and pulling checks in 1 D jackpots for me to see THAT kinda money in him... Plus he was solid black . If I gotta feed him n look at him, I want flashy.. I just don't see it...

$875K for a horse to run a triangle around 55 gallon drums? Uh, no - I don't think so. Stupid waste of money.
