If that black pipe is for drainage for when the water levels are too high, I would put something in front of it such as mesh or anything with little holes so the fish don’t get out
I've stocked several ponds in my life. You do what you want, but it's never a good idea to transfer fish from one place to another. Whatever parasites or diseases those fish may have will carry over to your new pond.
@@josecruz021 Bluegill fingerlings are indistinguishable from green sun fish to most people. I've been dealing with this since I built my pond years ago. The sun fish start off flat in shape like a blue gill, after about 12 weeks, the body gets rounder, and the mouth gets larger. I've had people think my Shell Crackers were Blue gills at that size. Most people simply don't know.
@@Markus-s2v I get what yiur saying but as a fisherman who deals in multi-species I've caught hundreds of fingerlings of both of those and can quite easily tell the difference. Green sunfish even at fingerlings stage are quite distinguishable due to color and the larger mouth and Agressive behavior
Problem with a created pond is other creatures will migrate, turtles that will devour your fish, frogs and toads who will eat the minnows. I even had people abandon their pet goldfish, who became enormous gold carp that also devoured all my rainbow trout! 😔
2 years ago I put like 25 bluegill and 5 baby crappie in my pond. Now im catching bluegill over a pound and crappie up to half a pound. You do not need many fish to get started. My pond is 0.4 acre. Im about to start catching and eating fish to manage the population.
Didn't anybody ever teach you about water transfer? If your minnows keep dying then the water quality or temperature or both are not close to the same. You have to acclimate them if you want them to survive.
I've done it this way to stock a pond we had. Never lost a fish. They're not aquarium fish. They go from shallow to deep constantly on their own. 40 degree plus temp differences

Somehow fish got into my ponds when it when it usually rains a lot over there at Texas when it rains and when it doesn’t you don’t really see anything just like John crater and there’s nothing in there not even fish and exciting. You know the fish in there.

Those aren't Bluegills, they are green sunfish. They will take over a pond and eventually have to be removed.
