The donkey tail jr is as legit as a bait can get. It’s easy to use, durable, great colors, and it just flat out catches everything. Just today I caught at least 5 different species of fish on one single bait. At some point it lost its tail and I was still catching fish with it. It’s a magical little bait.
Nice video. I threw the pasture fire around at a local pond and the sunfish were all over it. Having a little trouble landing the fish sometimes. Need to work on setting the hook. It was also really cool to see the super small guys following the lure in.
What kind of set up are you using? I usually let them set the hook on themselves and lift my rod tip up just a bit to pin them. If I keep getting hits, but no hooksets usually means I'm working with smaller fish so I will trim down my donkey tail jr to make it even smaller
@@RamonOutdoors Okuma ultralight 6' with 6lb braid (which is super thin and equivalent to 4lb mono I think). Yes, I was dealing with some super small fish so may need to trim down next time...
I 100% agree, I never leave home without these donkey tail jr's and also the 2-1/2" gulp minnow. Great video, I just found your channel. I recently moved to North Carolina (outside of Charlotte). Originally from Connecticut. It's nice to finally have an early spring instead of waiting for the lakes and ponds to thaw out and warm up.
Recently? Not much because the area I live in now is too warm for trout. However I know for a fact these things do catch trout. A buddy of mine was up in the mountains about 3 hours from me catching them with these bad boys last fall.
Some freaking tank gills!!
Bigs all in this pond!
I absolutely love Mule's plastics and jigheads. They're fantastic.
They are great! Catches most of my fish!
Awesome video dude! The gills there are insane and can’t wait till I can get out on the river and use these Donkey Tails🤙🏻
Dude jumbos everywhere. It’s a great spot.

It's crazy how long they last!

Also try the 1/80th oz mule jig if you weren't. It has a smaller hook!
Dude! You were catching SLABS! Such a fun watch!
Brother it was a good day! I was not expecting such massive bluegills.
Those plastic baits look good! Never heard of this company but I use some that look very similar! Great video!! Nice to meet the channel #436
Thanks for watching! They are my favorite bait. They just dropped a new minnow style too definitely worth checking out!
Pasture Fire Donkey Tail and Jr on black or chartreuse heads are awesome.
It's the juice!
Sliding them onto the workhorse jig gives me hand cramps haha
@@AllenMuriera yeah it’s not the easiest in the cold either!
Those thing sure get the attention of them, man i wish we had ponds creeks like that in here with diferent pan fish.
It’s pretty diverse around here man.
I’m a big Crappie Magnet and Trout Magnet fan. They make me a better fisherman but I think I need to give these a try. Thanks
These are great. I used to fish trout magnets all the time. Still do occasionally. These are my go-to now.
What kind of line are tying to the 1/64oz mule jig?
I normally run 2lb test, but you can get away with 4lb or 6lb test. The lighter the line the further you can cast it out.
@@RamonOutdoors thanks bro great video.
@@jacknguyen8061 thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! I love a solid gulp minnow too! I just moved to NC last summer and it's be great learning the waters in my area.
You caught the 10" bluegill Ethan is always trying to catch.
It was a nice one, but for my area an 11 inch bluegill would be equal to a 10 inch where Ethan fishes. It put a huge fight for sure.
Awesome video what are you using for your rod and reel keep the videos coming
I was using a Shimano Sienna 1000 and a Berkley Lightning Rod Trout Rod UL! Links in the description if you want to check them out!
i caught a nice rainbow trout on the mule minnow
They are pretty versatile!
thank you for the bait
You’re welcome!
Pasture fire with chartreuse jig head is the juice.
I’ll have to try that color combo. I usually go with a darker head.
Hey just how frequently do they catch trout though , Ramon ?

@@RamonOutdoors awesome thanks just wondering if it'll work in streams River or lakes.
I have no doubt it will work. if you have fast current I'd go with a smaller mule jig so that it can get in the strike zone better.
This is my favorite bait by far and the only problem is I have trouble getting them due to them always being sold out on the website
They sell out quick!
Also those gills were tanks man.
Massive I know! They eat good at this pond.
Fish frye!!!!!
I definitely caught enough for a good one! Thanks for watching Paul. I dropped a little "be free" just for you.
