I've got the same texture beard. You can drop a 1.5 or 2 wahl guard on and literally have the clippers full weight resting in the beard as you run it over and get the stragglers. I run over mine like 20 times... run, pick, run, pick run, pick. Also you can make the cheek line look fuller by removing a bit more weight from about and inch below the line and down. Then the transition from thick to thin is more gradual and less noticeable. I've had the beard for like 10 years so I'm not scared to push the boundaries.
