Hello Garmin How does Garmin charge it if we activate our device on behalf of someone else in crisis? Are those counted against our monthly allocations?
I would like to use the Explorer App on my Android large screen head unit in my truck. I don't need the features such as size, weight, battery life. What do you recommend for the interface? Thanks, Steve.
Hi, plan to be up in the Eastern Sierras by 9/13; I have the older model Explorer, not the plus, (has a red color border ) , but have misplaced the charger cord. Can u post the type or name of the cable/charger I can order from you or Amazon?
I want to download the navigation maps, does anyone know why it does not want to connect to the computer and it is not mine because I have already gone to 3 different computers with different windows
Hi Garmin representative, I am about to purchase a 66i but if you are coming out with a new updated one I would rather wait.. I have had a bad experience when I bought one of your products for a premium price and updated much better version came out just a few months later for nearly the same price. Will you be coming out with updated versions of the 66i or In reach explorer plus anytime within a year or 2??? It would be greatly appreciated if you could get back to me. Thanks
Hello there, We, unfortunately, do not have any information on new releases until a product is released. I have not heard of anything else being released yet. But the only way to find out would be to keep an eye on our website. The GPSMAP 66i is a great product and I don't see it going away anytime soon. {IK}
So, it is possible to send location along a message; it is possible to communicate between two inreach devices; yet there is no way to create a waypoint based on the location that came with a message. Basically, as I am understanding it, there is no way of sending messages like "meet me there" + GPS coordinates to a person sitting in a camp kilometer away. Yet you can call a medevac from anywhere in the world (theoretically speaking). If there is a way of sending and using GPS coordinates from/to inreach capable devices, then it is the most undocumented feature of this ecosystem of devices.
Hi there, Oļegs. I apologize the answer to your question wasn't easy to find. Just to confirm, you are able to set a waypoint from the coordinates in another user's message that you received on your inReach Explorer+. This can only be done from the message, not in the thread. From the message, tap Menu, then there should be an option to Mark Waypoint. Have a great week! »CP
@@GarminInt Thank you for your answer. In my humble opinion the ability to exchange locations when the cellular network becomes unavailable or unusable is the most useful feature of the InReach ecosystem.
Great overview. I'm just not sure if it's possible to do the first set up directly to the computer. I do'nt have a cell phone.

You're welcome! That is certainly a very useful feature!
