I bought a Asus Rog Strix G16 model G614JV-JV74 with intel core i7-13650HX cpu and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. The screen display is 1900x1200 and165hz. It's similar to this one that's being review but instead the GPU and the screen display is different. I bought mine on Amazon during Prime Day this past October for $1,201.24 including tax and shipping. I know I bought it at a good price but I'm wondering which of these 2 is better ?
@reallauradee everything I've seen about it and I used to work at a computer store after I got out in the military so I know how to build computers and I do know a little bit not not a lot of software stuff but hardware and I definitely don't think we'll be disappointed as long as we don't get a lemon Lol That's the thing about electronics they don't discriminate thousand people could have great experiences in than we get one and have it be messed up somehow but I have faith so Merry Christmas God bless enjoy your computer
Shooter games are way more fun with a controller. The only reason people use mouse and keyboard because it’s like training wheels. It’s so much easier than being with a mouse but believe me it’s way more fun playing shooter, games or FPS games with the controller actually has a trigger
Just ordered the 4080 model, I set out to buy a sensible priced laptop for gaming/video/music production and ended up putting out some extra for this model, hoping it serves its purpose well 👆
@ It’s been fantastic and hasn’t missed a beat, it’s ran any game I’ve thrown at it with ease at high settings, I couldn’t fault it in anyway. I keep meaning to do some benchmarks and game demos with it to show how nice it runs.
I have a 2024 rog strix g16. You'll need to be careful with this piece if you're going to play competitively. the processor, the i9-14900HX, which is unstable. I would recommend that you disable optimus so that your display runs solely on your GPU. You also may need to be careful since ASUS has NOT released a proper update to the bios in order to operate properly with the processor as well so you may experience your CPU overheating frequently and your games occasionally crashing to desktop.
I am also thinking of buying one, but the fact that they have an intel processor scares me. Have you encountered problems or what has your experience been so far?
@@athanasioskomnos3540 I'm not too happy with my g16 strix. In order to get the games to play without crashing, I have to run it on "silent" mode on armoury crate. The problem with this is that the gpu and cpu are running lower than the baseline values. If I were to use either the Windows Balanced mode, or Armoury Crate's Performance or Turbo mode, my games would frequently crash or the whole laptop would blue screen. Up until now, there is no update to correct the voltage of the procesors on an ASUS laptop. Both Intel and ASUS refuse to acknowledge a problem happening, but there are many users of this laptop who are experiencing crashes and BSODs
@nCognitoYT I agree. But I'm trying to not spend on something I don't need. I'm already spending way too much. These things are especially expensive for me cause I make JMD.
The specs is all over, I got the i9 13980hx with rtx 4050 240hz qhd+. Do not choose the 165hz because its not qhd+ but only fhd so it has way less screen brightness with only 280 nits. The screen also has problem of light bleeding. The bios is complicated and sometimes has problem, but dont worry the bios update will fix it just check for update frequently. And yes I think intel i9 13980hx has stability issue. For 13th gen intel it is better to choose maximum i7
Be prepared for some manual adjustments if you buy one with AMD CPU. For some reason fabric settings makes this CPU run at 80-90c idle...not mentioning gaming. However after adjustments (ghelper mostly) its 50-55c idle and 70-75c gaming. Except that its a great laptop 😊
5 reasons I do NOT recommend. 1. 5% of the time the laptop wakes from sleep/hybernate in Ultimate graphics mode the fans stop spinning completely and the laptop crashes or severely overheats and shuts down. No known fix - 2. The charger design is flawed and wiggling the charger in the jack causes stuttering and graphics mode switching - 3. The link between Armory Crate and the Laptop breaks very often requiring one to enter BIOS and disable armory crate reboot and re-enable armory crate mode - 4.The display has no HDR at all and the "Nebula" display is a scam. 5. - The gimmicky numpad built into the track pad cannot effectively be disabled and one easily accidentally turns it on all the time super annoying
What should i get the strix g16 or the zephyrus g16 ,i will be using it for college, also for 3d modelling and rendering. I am comfused. Could you please help me thank you. Liked the review cool shots.
G 16 has huge exhaust vents and extra fans the 4080 veraion have better thermal grease ; you can throw everything at it. The zephyrus screen is better but can't output as much as the g 16 . Both laptops run Windows which is a power hog don't get your hopes up on battery for gaming If you wanna game and study you are gonna have to buy and external battery with 100 watt plus capacity . Choices😅
I am thinking to buy G16 i9-14900HX. RTX-4060 165Hz 16 GB ram 1 TB storage... Is this specification good for a gaming,..video editing...or other heavy task Can you please suggest me
For 1080p gaming, it's perfect. With DLSS framegen turned on, you'll get atleast an average of 60fps in most AAA games at max graphics. On average, laptop Rtx 4070 gives about 20% more fps than laptop 4060. For 1440p gaming I'd recommend rtx 4070/4080 If the 4070 variant costs more than 30% of 4060 variant, I'd recommend sticking with 1080p gaming & 4060. And the 240hz variant has a better color gamut than 165hz.
@@steverobinson7211 4060 would be sufficient for medium level productivity works & light animation works. And most productivity works rely on cpu anyway. If I may, what work do you plan on doing?
Dude, if you play shooter games, use a controller it feels more realistic. I’m a military veteran. I shoot guns I carry a guy. Why would you not want to play first person shooter games without a controller actually has a trigger when you get to pull it like you do a gun Just don’t get how anybody can have fun playing FPS games especially for any games to be more fun with controller
