I bought a Volca Kick last week, and I've just ran into this video. AMAZING demo, it showcases what this little beast can do. I'm actually thinking of leaving this Volca for bass lines and weird sequences, and get a Volca Beats for the kick drum.
Nice, this is THE underrated volca for sure. I hear some sick techno as well, and this convinces me there is more to it than even that hot MS kick! Hails and keep being crazy
Fantastic, thank you! Was not sure if I should buy this thing but damn, some of these sounds remind me so much of Tangerine Dream. I could definitely use this little synth for some hypnotic techno live sets!
I was pretty close to picking up a Volca Bass to mess around with, but this video has swayed me and I've gone and bought the Kick. I really did think this just made kick drum sounds and nothing else, but it's a way bassier synth than the Volca Bass. It's crazy how much it can do. I might still pick up the Bass one day, but I'd probably buy another Kick before it. One isn't enough! Great video! The best Kick demo I've seen.
Smart move for them to put motion sequencing on this but damn do I wish all the Volcas had the shift pattern function that the Nubass has. Great video as so many people believe this machine is a one trick pony. I plan on buying a second. Well worth it.
I use my beats for the same thing. Thinking about getting the kick though. I have four Volcas already, might as well just get all of them. And make a cabinet to hold them, then pretend it’s just one big synth, with tiny keys! Lol.
Just got a Volca Kick for the soul purpose of doing DnB basslines. The kicks are nice for Gabber too. Add a bit of analog clipping and you're good to go.
A little known fact: the Volca Kick actually doesn't get it's name from the kick drum, but from the kicks you can get from it. Therefore, the name is not misleading in the slightest.
yeah. awesome and inspiring session that focus on the deep/interesting side of the kick i was relatively unaware of.especially the deeeeep subbass sequencies..... i love the whole volca range, but the kick ( everything i heard so far) left me a little disappointed, not convinced. your video changed that completely.
This sounds a lot better to me than the kick it produces cool stuff I was curious about this how it would sound without the kick when it came out I'm glad you made a video about it
The Volca Kick is insane! It's amazing. I have yet to use a Volca that didn't create joy in my life. Probably one of the best musical instrument series ever to be marketed.
I am looking to combine 5-string FRETLESS BASS GUITAR through the VOLCA KICK. Is this possible to play it this way instead of just using a KEYBOARD? With my vocal ability and resonant BASS GUITAR added, I plan/hope to develop some unique songs in the future. Any tips for someone who is not a GEAR GUY (me) would be appreciated. I just ordered my VOLCA KICK today!
I know it might look quite stupid, but I cannot make my kick sound the same. Especially at the Tangerine Dream moment. Can someone please share the exact setting for the sons please? Do you think it might be pitch setting or delay vsts that help to change the sound so tremendously turning down the time button? Mine sounds the same in two positions (max and mini) Really frustrated, please help..
It’s better than if it was called: ”Volca With An MS-20 Resonator That Is Not Volca Keys Or Bass But Is Great For Kick Sounds And Percussive Sounds But Is Also A Synth”. Volca Kick is shorter and better.
@@epicon6 I dunno, Volca With An MS-20 Resonator That Is Not Volca Keys Or Bass But Is Great For Kick Sounds And Percussive Sounds But Is Also A Synth kinda rolls right off the tongue. ;)
lets take a minute to thank tatsuya takahashi, the person behind the design of this instrument
This is amazing. That subbass sounds badass. And also, it shows the capabilities of this volca that remains a little bit misunderstood and forgotten.
You turned the Volca Kick into the Volca Kickass. That was a killer jam.
Volca kick is a sub bass synth and finally someone discovered that. Cool. 👍🎹✋
Most organic, musical and rad demos out there on this Volca. Well done
what in the world this is.... crazy... your skills and creativity........ is very good! I doubt I'll find anything quite like it again
I’m so in love with this Volca, such a fun and intuitive experience.
Wow -- best Volca Kick demo! It is very versatile... musical... and great for improv.
I bought a Volca Kick last week, and I've just ran into this video. AMAZING demo, it showcases what this little beast can do. I'm actually thinking of leaving this Volca for bass lines and weird sequences, and get a Volca Beats for the kick drum.
Thank you. By the way I don’t like the Volca Beats and prefer the Volca Drum which I’ve done some videos for too.
This demonstrates why the kick is the best Volca!!
Nice, this is THE underrated volca for sure. I hear some sick techno as well, and this convinces me there is more to it than even that hot MS kick! Hails and keep being crazy
I severely underestimated this machine
They really should have called it the Volca Sub, it would have probably had more initial appeal to people like me who initially found it too limited.
okay, after too many demo videos... I think I'm finally sold. Thank you!!
Your comment is 6 months old did you buyed it.what your impressions still worth it?
I'm where you was back than I'm no sure if I have to or not😁
@@bembeleee I just ordered one (my first synth 😂)
Incredible performance.
I've got one coming today and watching this has me pumped!
This is a Gem! Thank you for this - sold!
and here I was thinking the Kick was an "excessive" piece of gear. Nicely done, thanks for proving me wrong.
Fantastic, thank you! Was not sure if I should buy this thing but damn, some of these sounds remind me so much of Tangerine Dream. I could definitely use this little synth for some hypnotic techno live sets!
Oui...et un peu à la klauz Schulze aussi
Indeed, reminds me of TD up to and including Phaedra.
the best video with volca kick!! brilliant!!

Thank you Joe for watching my video. Have fun with you Kick with no Kicks. Lol!

11:13 ~ 11:30 is enough to make me want to buy one of these.
You can really hear the Replika and Shimmer in this. Makes for some killer Berlin School sounds!
That was a crazy adventure. Damn the kick is almost like something from outerspace
Interesting budget DFAM vibes!
This is wonderful!! Thank you.
Lovely demo
Nice exploration and demonstration of other possibilities.
Thanks Grant!
Tangerine Dream!!!! Especially after 6:45 or so it becomes Phaedra-ish.
I use my beats for the same thing.
Thinking about getting the kick though.
I have four Volcas already, might as well just get all of them.
And make a cabinet to hold them, then pretend it’s just one big synth, with tiny keys! Lol.
great demo, super cool music!!
this unit is brilliant, and let me add that you can also also create some devastating sub-bass drones with it!!!
amazing watchin it 11 time this day need to buy another volca . kick king
I bought it and started exploring amaizng machine
I’m just about to walk in the store and buy this based on your demo. 🎉
1:20 reminds me of Boyz noise boiler room set. Melody was spot on
lovely journey. Thanks
one of best demos i have heard nice!
Thanks Chris :)
Fell off my 'Space Hopper' trying to keep up! This actually has structure similar to that found in the album 'PHEADRA' by Tangerine Dream! ;- ) cool
funny i actually thought the same exact thing. my mind went to that exact album
Same here, I even missed Triplebacon's Phaedra comment and typed a new one just to point this out :)
Just got a Volca Kick for the soul purpose of doing DnB basslines. The kicks are nice for Gabber too. Add a bit of analog clipping and you're good to go.
That's exactly how I use mine. Jungle basslines and gabba kicks
This really reminds me of some Meat Beat Manifesto sounds.
increible¡ gracias
Brilliant example. Shows you can make tunes just with the Kick. Nice one!
Thanks Sean!
Nice JAM. I'm thinking about to buy second hand Kick in near future.
Nice job, the same TD sound!
Proper demo 🔥 Great modulation on the fly mate
A little known fact: the Volca Kick actually doesn't get it's name from the kick drum, but from the kicks you can get from it. Therefore, the name is not misleading in the slightest.
I got quite a kick out of it! Lol.
I'm seeing these on sale lately for $99 CAD, verrry tempting, but just picked up a volca fm and a roland r-5.
Really cool jam!!
Where have you seen these on sale for $99 CAD?
I've always thought this seemed like a really dumb volca, like a whole unit just for a kick drum? But holy crap this looks kinda fun.
With you all the way on this like Liquid Gold....
Awesome! Ive done something similar with the Korg Monologue, but this makes me wanna re-explore the whole idea
Stanislav Tolkachev would love this.
Philipp Fromme too simple for him
He has one and said its brilliant
got some tangarine dream vibes from some of these melodies
And the buckets of reverb.

Thanks Herbert! :D
Wow! Thanks for explaining what this unit can really do. Best demo ever! Adds Volca Kick to shopping cart ;-)
Thanks holotropik! :D
Awesome!
This is going to be my first synth. Then a Volca Nu bass.
The best two Volcas IMO
Nice demo.
Kind of finds use outside of it’s marketed use like the tb303
This is beautiful. Thank you.
Kicking nice!
beautiful
This sounds a lot better to me than the kick it produces cool stuff I was curious about this how it would sound without the kick when it came out
I'm glad you made a video about it
Thanks! Same here, I didn't get the Kick for kicks. I was curious about the other stuff it would make.
Never thought of that. And a delay is a way to make it sound like it has more than one voice.
I think Korg knew there was a new developing vacuum in this area. But in this demowawawa there is too much exploring and little discovery..
The Volca Kick is insane! It's amazing. I have yet to use a Volca that didn't create joy in my life. Probably one of the best musical instrument series ever to be marketed.
Bravo 👏 🍾🍾🍾🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👊👊👊🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
WoW!!!
This whole time I thought it was for k8cks lol. I need one as ASAP
dope
WOW!!!
OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW NOICE!!!
Awesome. Tks Man !
7:43 ah you can also make some Acid like sounds
Perfect
trippy!
i think i need like 4 of them...
Amazing!
so good 🙌
awesome
Holy moly, this sounds like Kraftwerk Robots
wow
nice jam !!!
Thanks suppaclassic90!
nice channel too !
I make music myself but with DAW and a korg ESX
cheers
Nice! What does "Replika and Valhalla Shimmer added" mean? Are they some kind of plugins or something?
Since I use Presonus Studio One to record all my live performances, I like to add some effects like reverb or delays before I export the track.
5:20 getting into some Kraftwerk!
Volca pluck?
yup
They should've named it Volca Kick Ass
I love this :)
Thanks Louis!

You just sold one Volca Kick to me 😄
Can you lock the pitches of the resonator and ribbon keyboard to a scale other than chromatic? Would be cool and useful if so

Allot is being sonically altered due to his Volca being hit with effect sends.
@@Decoy303 thanks for answer man, thought pretty much the same
Top Banana
so you can p lock parameters with this ? cool
A reverb/delay in the bus no ?
👍👍👍
you came here for 11:11

@@robertsyrett1992 :D
Should have been called Volca MS
Does that stand for “meet steve” or “microsoft”?
@@hubblebublumbubwub5215 after the MS20 - it has both the rev 1+ rev 2 filters in this box!
Where is the echo control?
Separate effect units they are. Say it in the description it does: Replika and Valhalla Shimmer added.
Hi, i love volca kick but i can't send midi CC (filter cut off, pitch, bend). Can you explain me please? i use a digitakt to sequence the volca.
