      Thanks so much! ❤️ These containers are some of the best wand/doe-foot ones I've ever tried-they're from TKB Trading (gifted, but I'd pay for them!).

    If you’re going to make your own cosmetics often, please please for your own piece of mind invest in a magnetic stir plate with a heating element. That way you can pop a magnetic stir bar into your beaker and then pop the beaker on your heating/stirring plate. It’ll homogenize everything and you can turn on and off the heat and stirring separately on most such plates. Some even have a scale built in so you have to do zero work besides turning knobs and actually adding the ingredients.

      Mine was $120 and it’s incredibly portable cuz I just need a flat space and a power outlet and it has a built in scale, it’s from vevor.

      Thanks for watching! I always link all the ingredients for any given formulation in the blog post, which is linked in the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.).
      Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.
      And for some more discussion on ingredients, I recommend these FAQs:

    Can I use ceteareth 25 as a substitute to polyamide 3, as I can't lay my hands on that

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, they do totally different jobs :( Ceteareth 25 is an emulsifier, PA-3 is a thickener/film former.

    Hi Marie! So I'm trying to find my base Lip Oil formula. I'm using Castor Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Jojoba Oil, along with color Pigment and Polyamide 3 from TKB and Vitamin E. They turned out great, but I just noticed yesterday that all the pigment settled on the bottom of the tube. I've been trying to research why that happened and I read your blog as well, but I can't seem to understand why that happened. Any suggestions?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You probably need a bit more PA3 to boost viscosity and improve the suspending abilities of the formula :)

    Hi Marie! Thanks for another great video! I was wondering: what could be some good substitutes for Polyamide-3 other than Cera Bellina? In my country I can't easily find them and was wondering if Xanthan Gum could do the job! Could you help me? :D

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! Have you read the encyclopedia entry on PA-3 yet? There is a ton of great info in there, including on substitutions. Subs are also discussed in the post in the context of the specific formulation. The short answer is that there aren't many good substitutes (🙁), and xanthan gum (or any kind of gum) will never ever work as an alternative to PA-3 as it is water-soluble. Happy making!
