    Thanks for this video. So much useful info and experience in there. Great to get some info on the lift also :) We just got icy roads so we're grounded but let's hope Greta can melt that away soon. Merry Xmas to you. We're already done here in Sweden since we celebrate on the 24th.

      @@corecass high exhaust routing = hot as fuck in traffic. They routed it low because this is a bike intended for street use despite misleading advertising. Thin skidplate with the engine located literally 2cm above it..and the skidplate is mounted to the aluminum footpeg brackets.

  • @damienzuniga3722

    I for sure like your exhaust a lot more than Camel ADV's exhaust. The fact that there is literally only one other manufacturer right now that makes it run OVER and not AROUND the swingarm (huzaar) is mind-blowing.

  • @lukethomson6206

    Great video, love the exhaust. You're making me really want a T7.... I watched a video and they advised against the water pump guard as it is secured into a part of the engine case (forget the specific) and they said if you're unlucky enough to collect something at that location they'd rather replace a pump vs case...

  • @gordonborsboom7460

    You have two bolts on each side back cover where the stock rack mount to from Yamaha make up some brackets from there to hold out your soft bags, it does not have to be very big just something to keep the bags off the plastics. Cheers

    Hello Nerb, here in the Netherlands the use of a bike is substantially different from Aussie. Nevertheless, you show a few interesting hacks. I carry Kriega OS12 on the OS base plate. These sit a bit lower than Mosko. You reckon that strengthening the plastic panels is also needed? And isn’t there a way to make use of the luggage rack and the connection of the pillion handle to off set your Mosko bags?

    Since I haven't even seen a T7 in the State I am gathering as much information as possible. I'm going to get one to go with my AT (set the AT for long haul with lotsa tarmac) and the T7 more dirt rides. I like the exhaust setup but have no way to weld the bracket, small town no fabricators here, so I would need to figure something out for that part. But I also would like a thru pipe (cat bypass) with less S bend than your bike. I think by looking at the picture you showed this would be doable because of the change in routing to the head pipe. Ask Peter for me. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all out there and hoping for a better 2021 but doubt it.

    • @Nerb1

    Nerb, I previously saw you riding a KTM 790 and you seemed very happy with it, so what prompted you to get the over hyped T7?
    Personally, I think in a couple of years Yami will be forced to bring this bike into the 21st Century (similar to what they've done with the Tracer GT) at which point it might be quite an attractive package.

    Really sharp looking bike, I agree with a lot of the others that is how the exhaust should have been from the factory, if you guys can make it so it dont have to be welded I think it would sell very well

  • @ExpeditionaryRanger
    @ExpeditionaryRanger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess if one were to use pannier racks, like a set of Tusk racks for example, that would negate the need to redo the exhaust hanger As the pannier rack would take the impact?. Is weight the reason why you aren’t using racks? Any concerns on wear through of the pannier seat with strap rubbing?

    I have the same issue with the tail section breaking and I didn't even have bags on it ... I guess you used regular epoxy or something for boats?
    Love the changes made and that exhaust is very interesting, is the midpipe made of welded sections or just cleverly bent? I am also wondering how the passenger pegs fit with your exhaust.
    Do you have a link to the photos you mentioned.
    Keep up the nice work ...

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks mate! Sorry to hear about the plastic... yes, its very weak. I used JBWeld plastic bonder. I think its about the best epoxy bond you can get for abs plastic.
      Midpipe is welded... by a professional ;) Actually I havnt checked the pillion pegs. I have a little bracket for typing my bags. I will check and get back to you. Or maybe more detail in the new year when I get Peter in front of the camera to talk about it.

      @@Nerb1It was the first accessory I put on my T7 and I took it off after a few hundred miles. I have the Hepco Becker. When standing on the balls of my feet, the spring mechanism on the right hand side was always in the way of my heel so my foot position felt too restricted. I also cut the little stem that sticks out from the stock side stand off for the same reason. Now I can stand a lot more comfortably and not feel cramped.

    Have you ever ridden the KTM 990/950 ? If so, is the T7 much easier to ride offroad ?

      @Nerb1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I have. th-cam.com/video/kPP31SN1Nw8/w-d-xo.html
      Im only going from memory, but I think the T7 is easier to ride and more nimble. The 990 is obviously more grunty. The 950/990 is like an old muscle car... a bit rough but a classic.

    Why would you put a low fender back on after you ripped the old one off ?

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one that got ripped off was on my previous bike, the KTM 1190R. I havnt bought a high fender for this bike yet.

    Every report I see about these T7's,seems to revolve around crashing and crash damage..............is there a chance these bikes are being used for something they arent made for? Ive done 51K on my DR65O in all sorts of gnarly ugly stuff,and lots of gravel miles.............but no crashes. No roll bars or roo bars needed. Bike is sound still .

      @@Nerb1 If crashing and thrashing big bikes is fun,have at it! Whats fun is going fast,going sideways,passing everyone else...crashing is not the plan...people break body parts crashing big bikes.

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bradsanders6954 Yep, each to their own. I think going fast is dangerous. Keep racing to the race track I say. Thats a great way to get hurt. Your idea of a crash is probably different to mine. I like to explore the country and that means trying to get places that are a challenge. Occasionally this means falling over. Ive never had an injury in my life (touch wood).

    Cool setup, I still have the oem bash plate and need to change it asap.
    As for the water pump, touratech (which I am not big fan of) has a little protector that takes 3 minutes to mount and will do his job if somehow you get that stone there, it's cheap and easy so worth the piece of mind.

    Anyhow your bash plate slmost covers the pump pipes
