Wait a minute…could we consider that 1, maybe CTG knows he doesn’t have the range for these discussions, but he does have the clout to get someone a platform to get access for those who do? 2. The three hosts are certainly qualified to have the discussion, and 3. CTG is NOT one of the three hosts, but the discussion y’all just had was primarily about his lack of knowledge…and very little was about the actual hosts.

Greetings, to the Karen Hunter Show, My parents watched CBS news - Ed Bradley, Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. Yes, I'm in my early 50's. They both read the newspaper from front to back. I'm glad reading was instilled in my family. Native Land Podcast, is a welcoming place of news, culture, politics and a safe space for those in the Black community who identify with their platform. They have been on both sides of the game. CNN- Angela Rye, MSNBC- Tiffany Cross, and Mayor - Andrew Gillum with political ambition Governor. Which means they can stand with the best and represent us all in a positive light. They are speaking to a specific demographic and age group. I'm all in on NLP. Very rarely do I comment on someone's page at length or this in depth. I must say I was quite disappointed that neither of you began with a Congratulations on the new podcast and we wish you well. It was the negative comments that I heard the most. Everyone has to crawl before they learn how to walk. Please, give, have and show some Grace. Thank you.

Native Land Podcast is ABSOLUTELY NEEDED!! I’m so glad that they have that podcast! Finally people who actually speak for us and they really do a good job of breaking down the political climate as it pertains to Black People. We all know Tiffany Cross was too Black and too strong for MSNBC . Glad they on.

I just listened to the second episode of their podcast. The show is good and very informative. They are truth telling. Again, as with anything, please watch the podcast and then make judgement. Let’s give people - I’m speaking specifically about the podcast -space to get the show going and then take the time see what they are actually offering to the conversation. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Unfortunately, majority of these Black people that get air time or shows on these networks are nothing but glorified ambassadors that are ALREADY bought and paid for. If Leonard is acting this way, he’s being paid for it. If the podcast is leans into conflict & controversy, it’s been paid for to do just that. We as Black people need to WAKE UP and see what this all truly is!

I don’t agree with CTG on any political space. But I do like this podcast. If you know Angela Rye, she speaks her own mind and I have seen her disagree with him in a number of instances. I love Tiffany Cross in a political spaces. She made a lot of common sense, unlike the nonsense I get from the Breakfast Club. And I forgot how smart Andrew Gillum is, since I have not heard from him in awhile. Give the podcast a chance.

Since I didn’t see any of the roll out interviews I will not speak on that. The podcast is a good one, they often cite facts, give examples and information. I have hope that they will continue to grow, develop and adjust where necessary. I don’t listen to the Breakfast Club, at all. Panic, for me, set in when 45 was elected. Not for politics. Not at all. I do listen to many, many, others, who look like me and some who do not. It is the true that I seek and gravitate towards.

Posing the question "do we need this" is hater energy and nasty work from our own. Native land is authentic as well as truthful. Name another platform doing what they're doing? Charlemagne is not a part of the show and though at times he's facetious, Breakfast club has an audience they need to reach as well. Some of these politicians wouldn't reach Breakfast club listeners in any other space, that's why they show up. Tezlyn Figaro's segment on Breakfast club is needed in that space. There's room for both shows. Both shows are valid. Show love!

  • @darrins3206

If you want a person's message to get out, you need to go to where the people are. That's just common sense. If Joy Reid said that, and she's on during Prime Time on one of the biggest cable news channels on the planet, she clearly recognizes the fact that a very large part of our community does not tune in to MSNBC to see her show. But that demographic very well may be reached on Shannon Sharpe's show.
True, Sharpe may not ask as many probing questions as you or Karen or Lurie or Clay, but at least that candidate would have the opportunity to get their accomplishments out to that block of our people who don't tune in to MSNBC, Urbanview, etc..

Angela is a lawyer, political commentator, and previous member of the CBC. Tiffany is an author, journalist and political commentator who has been in the game for over 20 yrs.
