This place is in very good condition between minimal and no vandalism this place has cool stuff this year the place is cleaned up. The energy drinks are gone now thanks to the chaos and explore the place again
How high would you jump if one of them phones started ringing as soon as you hung it up? jokes aside im glad you guys film these places before they fall into total ruin, its like an epilogue to the life of the building before they disappear and become forgotten

I like your videos because you and your wife act like normal people. They are always good quality as well. I like your stills as well. i really liked the pool area pic because you got the design in well and it just made me see what it would have been like. That's what gets me when you guys do these explores all the waste. I mean if you can use it take it, donate it, get it put in a museum.. something. I would take one of those blue chairs with the carving in a second. Those chairs are just going to get moldy and rot. I could use a flat screen etc.. That is sad to let it waste.

Just love it when I hear a dial tone and then you pick up a phone receiver and put it back on the base of the telephone and the dial tone stops! I've watched several of your videos today and it makes me smile when I see the phone receiver and know what's coming up! OMG that place is amazing, it's nice to see a place that hasn't been vandalized. And the wood is absolutely beautiful! So unique the way they designed it. I can't understand why the don't donate all that stuff , just think they could sell all that wood and lights and stuff and give the money to charities. Just doesn't make sense to me to let everything decay and rot. Poor racoon all by himself and nobody to safe him, sad. I am an animal lover of all kinds. This was a great find and awesome video. First off....amazing ...just wow! You do a superb job at exploring and really showing off the beauty of these abandoned places...one of the best to do it on TH-cam! The number of pallets filled with that energy drink was insane! This seemed to be a really nice resort at one time. I always wonder what happened when it seemed so nice...money troubles, black mold, death, crimes....what happened to leave everything behind basically! This was really good guys! Cant wait for your wife to be back as well...we miss her in the vids!

They went bankrupt and the creditors have possession of the contents. They don't want to deal with them, they just took a beating on the place and you can't go in their and get them because you would have to go through all kinds of court proceeding to get legal possession. It could be done but know one wants to fool with it.
Banks- when bankruptcy is filed this is what is done, contents will just sit and rot. It is such a shame to see such waste.

That place must have been kinda nice back when it was open! Glad you got to it before many other vandals did!! It’s in good condition considering where it could have been already at. I agree with the previous messager. The waste is unbelievable. The homeless or halfway houses could make use of the rooms that are in decent shape in so many of these abandoned places. I really do enjoy your videos and appreciate the fact that you are responsible and don't cause any damage.
Omg so like 15 years ago I actually stayed here for a IORG event as soon as you showed the lobby I remembered tripping on one of the railings in a gown and my hoop skirt coming up and hitting me in the face. This video brought back memories of that trip and it's sad to see the place closed down. Don't worry I won't mention the name :)

If I owned a place like this I would totally convert it from resort to residential. If you dont have enough cash to do the entire renovation at once, just do part and let ppl move in at low cost in exchange for working on the renovation of the place....
Yep, projects like that could put the displaced and unemployed back to work and a way to go as a stepping stone. While those in the money are doing best they've ever done in history and the markets solid, many are left out wondering where they could fit into American society. It's chaos. With the direction it's going, only a civil war can do her any good as get a full reset.
Rick a business associate of mine just tried that on one of his large in way over his head projects recently and all he ended up with is hot and cold running crackheads.
not usually on the local level. However, you have to understand they cant just enforce for some and not others, unless you want to end up in court being sued by an unhappy property owner. Believe me, they walk a razor's edge between doing what is good for the community and adhering to the laws they must.

Linda Mesa A lot of times, the bank forecloses and no one is allowed back or you get arrested. Even if it's your stuff, and you owned the place. There is not much time to pack and leave, or find storage. Also obviously somebody rich just left it alone. The banks do this so much that an estate sale was not done. So you can blame the banks, greedy corporations, and whomever evicted them.
Cool video, amazing place. It is is not abandoned, someone is obviously using it for storage and there is a security guy around, that is probably why it is not vandalized.
Why is it closed. If you know the location it can't be hard to find out and maybe if there any plans for it too.

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Missouri. It pains me to see those massage tables sitting there collecting dust. Brand new a good massage table can cost between $300-500 and for a portable on $100-200.

This has been my favorite video of yours so far. It is amazing how some of the guest rooms are still perfectly intact. I wish there were more hotels and resorts like this. I think the problem is that there are so many hotel chains now that places like this have trouble staying in business.
Not sure how I remembered the name of this place, but after watching the video, I had flashbacks of a kid staying here with my grandparents back in 1978 or so. I remember some of this, and googled the rest. I need to look through some old photos to put the rest together. Sad that places like this really don't exist any more and any that still do are so commercialized.

the medieval style was really popular in the 70's, my parents had friends who built a house entirely in that style inside and I loved to be there as a child it was like being in a fantasty castle.

The comment was meant in jest that their was no life-guard on duty around the pool at the time the poor racoon met its unfortunate death,- Not it's funny a racoon had drowned to it's death.

Hemp hand and body lotion is a waste of money. I bought a bottle and it didn't do anything for my skin other than make it feel gross. I returned it and got my money back.

Ok, everyone needs to understand that if there’s a caretaker etc, then he’s being employed by someone, and therefor, the property is not abandoned which makes this illegal trespassing.
Okay Karen, don't watch an abandoned buildings channel and then complain about trespassing.
The owners must be hoarders that are disillusioned they will get it back open again. I'd guess it's probably at about the 5 year mark of no maintenance, since all of the smoke detectors are chirping? That's probably in line with the amount of water evap from the swimming pools and amount of dust on the leather furniture?
Without knowing where this is, I'm wondering if the place was flooded and the owners just walked away with the insurance money and payed off all their debt?
What state is this in?
A lot assets in here, at least for an auction. Doesn't make sense that it hasn't been cleaned out and auctioned off at this point.
I grew up near here. The back area of the resort would flood but the reason this closed is the owners went bankrupt. They we not allowed to sell the items inside as the bank took possession of everything. There was also an OTB in the one building before it closed.

Would be worth a revisit in about 6 months to see what state it will be in.
Resorts don't typically move from state to state- they stay in the same place. Unless you think the Chinese are going to take over, then yeah- I suppose it would be in a different state.

Sub about 2 weeks ago, been watching 3 to 4 vid a nite. Awesome! Great improvement in language, my kids can watch now. Camera movement better quality and much more steady. The right amount of commentary, the young other punk explorers talk to much, don't watch them any more! Only down is that you say you hate taggers, but seem to considerate your shots on a lot of there destruction, almost promoting it in a way. Friggen love the phone gag, and love that some dumb butts in the past have fell for it! Lol. Also love the creepy Christmas music you have done! RnK rocks! Always wanted to do stuff like this, glad you are able to do this for those of us that can't! Keep up the great shooting!
Pokemón Hunter thanks for checking us out. I dont try to glorify taggers in any way, its just unfortunately in some of the better pieces of these spots to film and it also makes these type of non vandalized spots more appreciated when i can get to them before they do
You should check out Bros of Decay too. They don't use profanity, and their stuff is good quality with much less graffiti just by virtue of it being in Europe. I mean no disrespect. I really like this channel too, but I know it's hard to find kid-friendly stuff sometimes. (I have nothing against profanity, but I once had a young daughter (who's still young, but not a kid anymore!), so I know the struggle =)).
Using profanity only takes away from the videos.

So sad some ppl needing things, and seeing good things that could be use abandon... So sad.
Going by the original mid-evil design and most of the light fixtures, this place was probably booming in the early 1970's then maybe updated last in the 1990's. Don't let the flat screen tv throw you off. There were flat screens in the 1990's but you paid $20,000 for one. A resort like this that had luxury amenities such as full service salon, facials, massages, tanning etc..would have no problem getting one installed.Very modern for the times.
this resort closed in 2012, did a littttle bit of research on the Friar Tuck Inn and Tropical Storm Irene caused localized flooding which caused major damage to some rooms, hence the areas at the end with the mildew and everything piled up. They stopped payment to the cleanup, had mounting debt, business ground to a halt afterwards due to the place being out of date and upkeep being so poor. Just search for it, it had it's hey-day, but ultimately crashed like so many catskills resorts did.
Wow this place was really great to see. In it's day I am sure it eas an expensive place to stay and visit. Dana

A rather large cache. So according to ronnette the drink is a scam - kind of makes sense for a cheapskate con artist to store it someplace where there in no rent.
