My great grandfather was a stormtrooper in world war 1 and then re-drafted when world war 2 started. He survived both wars and I recently found his journal that he wrote in about his time during the war and what went on. I had to translate it to English since our family doesn’t speak German anymore. It is truly haunting learning of the things he’d been through and how he felt. Every single man he killed he took a bullet from their own weapon and kept them in a sack. I’m not sure where that bag is now since he didn’t write down where he had stored it. I think it’s for the best that nobody finds it.
@Wilhelm Eley Germans tend not to view their ancestor's past with pride. My great-grandfather as a Nazi and took part in the Reichsprogromnacht in our hometown. He volunteered for the eastern front. There is nothing to be proud about in his actions. Hell, and even those ancestors that weren't Nazis, there still nothing to be proud of.
@Wilhelm Eley what I’ve learned from him is that he was a hell of a man and self sacrificing. He sent his son to his sister when he was in the Hitler youth program and about to ship out to join the ranks in infantry. He ended up at his aunts and sent to on a boat to the US to get him away from the war and to see the safest place he could think of. He never saw his son again because he passed away after coming home from the end of the war from cardiac arrest. In the journal he wrote “I miss my son Willhans more than anything and pray to God that he has found safety from this terrible war. If I could have one wish it would be to hold my dear boy and know he’s safe.”
shout out to the camera man, he went through a tank barrel, ran through trenches, ran through no mans land, filmed solders up close with flames, got a up close shot of the weapons and armor, watched some guy run with lightning following him, risked his life to be next to an explosion and a grenade, filmed the storm troopers during a storm, flew inside a tornado with lightning inside, recorded peoples consciousness as they fought in the trenches 10/10 he needs a raise

I thought the expressionless faces animation was goofy at first, but after reading your comments their wooden-faces make total sense. You guys simply made the animation like 3 times better in my eyes, thanks.
This song is absolutely beautiful in all concepts, and lyrically depicts the horror and dedication of the stormtroopers, the fast-paced animation shows their wolf-like killer instincts and many of the advancements of weapons during the war, judging by the flamethrowers and rifles. The animation could be better in some aspects though, like the faces having emotions, and the unrealistic arms movement and legs become a bit more frantic and different most of the time, but this is still amazing work and I can't wait for more animated music videos, so keep up the good work!

I would have liked to see the speed and scale emphasized more. Maybe this is kinda unrealistic but I think it would be great to see a large number of people running across no man’s land. (As fast as lightning!)

Im agree, they have "fueled by the fear in the enemy eyes" but the british soldier look like they didn't scared at all from their expression except in the end when they transform into skull. But i appreciate their efforts especially the soldier POV and the emotionless german soldier really portrait that Stormtrooper didn't fear anything
I loved singing along this particular song at your concert in Romania! Actually my first concert ever, and I only recently discovered and started to learn this song, and thankfully you played it and I had some of my best times there! Thank you, Sabaton
its funny because it shows how the original stormtroopers were just soldiers with extra armor and trench maces so they could have a higher survival chance of running to the enemy trench and caving people in with maces

This time, I feel like the animation could be made a bit better - either the animators were bit lazy or unexperienced, but I feel that other animations from sabaton were top notch unlike this one. Song is still the best and animation, I get it, wanted to be mainly symbolic.
I kind of felt the same, the animator is in the description and as far as I can see first video was 6 months ago. The effects and design look great, but the movement and character models were very stiff. I'd love to see how far this guy can go!
All the other animated videos so far were related to a specific event/people. The song itself is about something non-specific so it has a non-specific video with it. It makes sense to me, but I do see how that could feel like it's "lazy"
yea felt very stiff imo. was kind of expecting to see them like actually rising from and storming the trenches. the imagery of them infront of the storm felt nice as it gave them that feeling of something you physically cant combat against akin to a natural disaster, but overall was kinda meh.
Also a great story from WW 1 is the journey of the Crew from the German Ship SMS Emden and their epic journey home from the Indian Ocean through the deserts of Arabia. I love your songs and I hope that this story one day gets a song to
Not gonna lie, this song could easily take "Ghost Division"'s spot as your usual high energy opener. Both are racing and detail lightning fast battle technique. Yes, Rommel and Guderian were big on fast mechanized warfare, but ya gotta give credit to the original speed machine that was the Kaiserschlacht plan from Luttendorf and Hindenburg. I would love you guys opening with this OG blitzkrieg.
Im new to and also fields of verdun was a pure banger anyway check songs that are for sweaden and Carolus. They are awsom too and also nightwitch is also awsome

Just wanna share that I was consumed with insecurity about getting old and fat, but making sabaton my gym tunes has turned me into a fucking beast and I so fucking zoned into my own gains and being an animal, I feel much better
I gotta be honest, there's a lot room for improvement, a lot of the slow motion pulls feel out of place when paired with the breakneck pace of the song, to the point where it begins to feel cheesy and like that's the joke. Definitely got potential but seriously, slow motion has it's place and I do not believe it's place is in a song like this. Keep on being rad!
yup, agree, and they take the "fast as lighting" way too serious, maybe a lighting bolt here and there but not following a soldier that has the goofiest running animation I've ever seen lol, but it's definitely got potential
I love the song when i first heard it and i was wondering if you guy would ever make a music video for this song and now here we are. I must say that im not the biggest fan of animation, this is personal opinion but the animation style is abit too choppy and the model style is just abit too uncanny. The concept and story board was pretty good but i feel like the animation and maybe some angle could have been done better.
@@KAILVVVEIT In my opinion, the characters look great. The uncanny part is more because of the lack of facial expressions. Except for that great animation
this song goes so hard, especially for me. because i am currently running a small blacksmith business in my home town and i listen to this song when im working and i gives me a lot of motivation
Ever since I listened to this song I had a feeling of what they were talking about but wasn’t sure because of the name of the title lol (Star Wars fan) once I looked it up on sabaton page it’s so damn interesting that these guys basically made a huge impact on most special forces or special operations unit which is crazy. What’s also interesting they were in WW2 as well but because of their tactics is out of date they weren’t really used as much, the fallschirmjäger was the one that were used as their special operations air borne unit, similar to the US 101st air borne. I find it so fascinating that the 101st air borne and the 82nd made a extraordinary impact on the US special operations unit that in the late 40s, Green berets have been created which at the time considered tier 1 unit. And in the late 60s-70s the MACV SOG took place and were the first to conduct special operations missions and such. Up until the late 70s the 75th ranger and Delta force have now created, kinda funny how 75th rangers and delta were created around the same time. Since as of today we have different special forces and special operations unit to have them run each different mission set they are capable of doing so effectively. Elite units in history I just find very interesting it’s like how every country throughout history when empires and kings and queens took place of how they knew we needed elite units for their military. I have always wondered where and how these elite soldiers came into play and who “invented” these types of soldiers. The polish had the winged hussars, the Roman had the paratoriean guard. The Persians had the 10,000 immortals (not from the movie 300 the real ones), and the ancient korean elite warriors called Hwarang.
Amazing as always!! Edit: love your guys music so much my sisters and I decided to learn and play Christmas Truce for our family, keep making amazing music!
The legend says that if a Storm trooper hear this song, he will never miss a shot again. Now, Darth Vader is buying a hundred thousands of Sabaton records...
Also those piles of artillery brass? Love that detail, as I had no idea before that such a mass of empty artillery shell casings really existed! You can imagine my surprise when I saw the photographs; those piles were very real and massive! I mean holy crap that was a lot of rounds fired from artillery guns in just ONE position! It's surreal!
Master class animation goes perfectly with the song. Goes deep into all the gritty details and reality of WW1 trench raids. 1:57 great wallpaper material by the way
What i find amusing is when i first heard this song i had just learned of the Canadian Stormtroopers from WWI so i had to relisten a couple times to figure out which they were talking about. Fun fact...it was the Germans that named them as such. Plus apparently the Canadians were the only army that the Germans were afraid of. After all... the Gebeva Convention was once essentially a "To Do" list for Canada apparently lol

yea felt very stiff imo. was kind of expecting to see them like actually rising from and storming the trenches. the imagery of them infront of the storm felt nice as it gave them that feeling of something you physically cant combat against akin to a natural disaster, but overall was kinda meh.
How badass can they be?
Oh… you do not want to mess with them.
Переход от лица стреляющего в глаза лежачего солдата который вот вот умрёт очень сильно, спасибо большое за прекрасную музыку.
Или на 3:20 когда немец целится в британца а тот с криком пытается безуспешно убежать
3:02 Well, what do you know? It's an attack of the dead men.
OSWEIC, THEN, AND AGAIN
Also a great story from WW 1 is the journey of the Crew from the German Ship SMS Emden and their epic journey home from the Indian Ocean through the deserts of Arabia. I love your songs and I hope that this story one day gets a song to
Stormtroopers is my favorite song from the new album! I love this ♥️
I love Sabaton
Отличный клип на прекрасную песню из великолепного альбома любимой группы! Как всегда на высоте!
Они шикарны! 👍🤟

My god this is glorious and what a bad ass video guys I'm kinda new to sabaton but am loving every bit of it
Не знаю поймёшь ли ты меня, но у sabaton есть очень классный клип на песню Bismarck посмотри.
@@glebbelkin7055 forgive me for I can't understand you but I like Bismarck as well wonderful song that one
@@kylestacks3292 I also really like Bismarck, and in general all the songs of the Sabaton.
@@glebbelkin7055 yes I'd say fields of verdon is probably my favorite
Im new to and also fields of verdun was a pure banger anyway check songs that are for sweaden and Carolus. They are awsom too and also nightwitch is also awsome
You did it again guys! Amazing song and amazing video. My favorite part is when the protagonist covers is face with the hands. I think that he remembers he is human for a moment but must suppress his feelings. You capture so well the madness of war in this video Great Job😎💪🏻❤️
Thank you very much!
Im gonna miss the old models but im happy to see the're upgrading the animations.
0:50 Sabaton teaching history about how Flash was a german soldier during WW1
I remember 2 weeks ago i was in their concert in Greece and they sung this song i was singing so loudly my throat hurt! Thank you Sabaton keep being awesome 🤘
You're one of 3 things: you're either a patriotic German, a death korps of krieg lover, or an average galactic empire enjoyer. Aka a chad.
Or a Helghast fan.
"THEY'RE FUELED BY THE FEAR IN THEIR ENEMY'S EYES!"

He is like ._.
They're actually fueled by meth
Sabaton is the perfect match of an historian and a rock star
"I love stormtroopers :D"
"Oh, you are also a star wars fan?"
"What is star wars?"
"..."
All their songs are amazing and original devoted to the historical theme every time but it's so well done. Please keep on rockin' guys.
"They're fuel by the fear in their enemies' eyes" This line right here is so cool and badass and impactfull oh my god, sabaton always hit the spot with their lyrics, great job Sabaton!
Great song and super video
Thank you very much! 🤘

This is one of my favorite songs in this album and this is one of the best animated music video I’ve ever seen, amazing job!!

This song has been on repeat since it came out 4 months ago and kudos to the animator! That was very well done 👏👏
Thank you :)
Just wanna share that I was consumed with insecurity about getting old and fat, but making sabaton my gym tunes has turned me into a fucking beast and I so fucking zoned into my own gains and being an animal, I feel much better
Hell yeah! Happy to hear our tunes are helping you pump IRON! 🤘🤘
01:04 this just felt so real😂
I gotta be honest, there's a lot room for improvement, a lot of the slow motion pulls feel out of place when paired with the breakneck pace of the song, to the point where it begins to feel cheesy and like that's the joke. Definitely got potential but seriously, slow motion has it's place and I do not believe it's place is in a song like this. Keep on being rad!
yup, agree, and they take the "fast as lighting" way too serious, maybe a lighting bolt here and there but not following a soldier that has the goofiest running animation I've ever seen lol, but it's definitely got potential
Notice how the Lugar at the end did not blowback when fired?
I love the song when i first heard it and i was wondering if you guy would ever make a music video for this song and now here we are.
I must say that im not the biggest fan of animation, this is personal opinion but the animation style is abit too choppy and the model style is just abit too uncanny. The concept and story board was pretty good but i feel like the animation and maybe some angle could have been done better.
Thanks for your honest criticism!
@@KAILVVVEIT In my opinion, the characters look great. The uncanny part is more because of the lack of facial expressions. Except for that great animation
Original Death Korps of Krieg

Sturmtruppen: We are the most brave and bold assault unit of the world!
Italian Arditi: Take my rifle, I don't need it.
Average Russian at the time what rifle?
this song goes so hard, especially for me. because i am currently running a small blacksmith business in my home town and i listen to this song when im working and i gives me a lot of motivation
You might like Wind Rose. "WE'RE THE FELLOWS OF THE FELLOWS OF THE HAMMER."
I really like how they incorporated lightning into the animation! Really gives that *shocking* feel.
Although the animation looks really stiff I can see a lot of work got put into it and this song is still in my top 3 of the album.
Amazing as always!!
Edit: love your guys music so much my sisters and I decided to learn and play Christmas Truce for our family, keep making amazing music!
🙏
!General we're fucked! The enemy invented some sort of magical self-navigating canon rounds!
Stormtroopers now: we can’t aim 😢
Stormtroopers then:
Whenever i play Verdun this song is on repeat
The legend says that if a Storm trooper hear this song, he will never miss a shot again.
Now, Darth Vader is buying a hundred thousands of Sabaton records...

Badass as always sabaton
I learn english using your songs. Thanks for this!
That's great! ROCK ON! 🤘
Música maravilhosa, espero vivenciar essa obra de arte em um concerto de vocês antes do final da minha vida!
One of my absolute favourite Sabaton songs ever!
It’s always cool learning something new!
Sabaton é uma das poucas bandas que já representou o Brasil. Vocês são demais.
Master class animation goes perfectly with the song. Goes deep into all the gritty details and reality of WW1 trench raids. 1:57 great wallpaper material by the way
Great Idea. I think I will make a wallpaper.
I have been wanting this video since i first heard Stormtroopers, and it does not disappoint. it is your best music video yet
Thank you for that Andreas
1:40 Thats bloody terrifying! Amazing animation 👏👏👏
Id love to see one for Dreadnought with the battle of jutland in the background
Always wanted to see a lyric video for dreadnought that zoomed around her for close ups of her features.
Maybe a World of Warships collaboration as with Bismarck
