Thanks for the question. Much trauma training is focused on quickly applying a tourniquet to stop a bleed, as every second counts- I'm with them on that. But the problem is that if that's all you know, people may apply tourniquets when only a bandage is needed, possibly the situation you are referring to. However, as long as medical help is reached quickly, it is easier for them to remove an unneeded tourniquet than to put blood back into the body. A bit of a simplification, but this type of training has to come back to simple concepts. That is a good question, and when we do our next batch of filming, perhaps we can answer this better.
