    Interesting, there are many parallels between this technique and yoga nidra. The layout and emphasis on Self-Inquiry, which is characteristic of Ramana Maharshi's teachings, is reminiscent of the iRest style of yoga nidra from Dr. Richard Miller.

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, in my view of the human journey of investigating this mystery of life and our place in it, inquiring inwardly has many places and sages in history inviting us to ask, Who am I? Ramana Maharshi's teachings (or pure inquiry) is something the founder of the Sedona Method, Lester Levenson, found great synergy with. He would often recommend reading, "Talks by Ramana." I appreciate your comment. Thanks.

      The mind is an engine that is used to running. Your exploration would be to let go of wanting to change that the mind does that. This would be a first release, and potentially a bit of relief from pushing against what is natural. This is a first and important step on this road. All my best

    Very interesting stuff. Can I just check though - when you / he asks 'could you just let that emotion go', are you in fact asking 'could you just let that emotion stay where it is and do nothing to get rid of it?'
    Is 'letting go' actually 'letting things BE as they are'?

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Great question, James. We are letting go in both instances. 1) Letting go of holding onto the emotion (from habit, or identity, or security even if from our misery), and 2) Letting go of wanting the feeling to be different than how it is. (Translated: Letting things BE as they are) Both are a letting go process - - and are valuable. To be clear though, when we are processing an emotion, it is important to begin with going slowly and allowing a feeling to be as it is, first. Like a crying child that needs to be allowed to cry - and then with time it is more open to quieting. For us, perhaps it's helpful to take a gentle breath to become more present, allow what is, and then if it feels right, letting go of holding tightly (and often unconsciously) to the emotion. So I always say start with what is easiest - and see where it leads, perhaps to more peace, relaxation, tension, or a next step along the road to letting go, and hopefully eventually, self-kindness.

    It is a very clear explenation of the Sedona Method and also gives a basic knowledge about the foundations. I also found very interesting when you start talking about quantum physics and the way it is connected to the method because it is one of the most fundamental keys in order to have a better and deeper understanding about existence and and how we are can open up to an ocean of infinite possibilities.
    Is there any good book you would recommend for those are new to this method?

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Alessandro. Thanks for your inquiry. The book, The Sedona Method by Hale Dwoskin gives the best overview of this approach. It's on amazon.com. Also, the Sedona Method Workbook on amazon offers the actual exercises and the series of questions that help let go, and see through the illusion of our senses of limitation. The difference between the two is that the workbook has less explanation of the origins and foundation of its development. I wish you great freedom. David

      Hi David,
      Just seen this reply and thank you for the added intel :). I am making encouraging progress investigating what I now consider to be the truth of non self.... my interpretation of this being that the emotions, mind and body are simply arisings in accordance with my subconscious perception of a identity born out of the conditions my life presented. I perceive I am experiencing a realisation that there is no identity..... I have short periods in the day when my mind is clear enough that I am simply the watcher of the above three human traits. It’s a little scary at times but my being feels it’s getting closer to source so may I kindly recommend that you look into the non self topic deeply as I believe you will really appreciate it assuming you have not already walked this path of course ☺️. Much love to you my friend and thanks again for emitting such content to the world which truly helps people 🙏

    Hi David. Thank you for this video. I have a question. Is there a difference between Larry Crane’s Release Technique and The Sedona Method taught by Hale Dwoskin? Both mention Lester Levinson as the originator.

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Sanford. The foundation of both Larry's and Hale's approach is Lester's teachings. They are based on the same fundamental process of letting go and the sense of limitation of the separate ego being based on our misunderstanding of lack. Their difference is in Larry's focus on purely letting go to reveal freedom - and Hale's opening the teachings up to acknowledge the possibility that the unlimited reality of what we already are is available to be known in this very moment, no technique necessary. HOWEVER, Hale's approach totally includes the same process of letting go, the same as Larry. But Hale also adds simply widening this path to pure inquiry that can reveal our deepest nature as THAT which is even viewing these words. Right now. I hope this helps. All my best to you, David

      @@DavidEllzeyAwaken thank you for your answer to my question. Not sure I quite understand but I'm not letting that stop me from attempting to acquire or re-acquire this skill-set. I also purchased Dr. David Hawkins book "Letting Go". Although there are some slow parts of the book, I find some sections very helpful. If you're not familiar with it I recommend you check it out. If you have read it I'd be curious to know your opinion of it. Thanks again - Sanford

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Sanford. In short, Larry and Hale are similar (Larry died last year), but their styles of teaching were very different. David Hawkins was friends with Lester and his consciousness chart is actually an elaboration of Lester's emotions chart used in teaching The Sedona Method. Both have served people well. I hope you enjoy Hawkin's book. At the end of this year, I will release a program teaching a bit of The Sedona Method and other ways to quiet the mind and find peace and a more calm life. Why is it not called the Maharishi Method?

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kai. This method could definitely be called The Maharshi Method, or also the method of the many sages that we are lucky to have had in humanity over time. In essence, Ramana was speaking of ancient truths that have been around for millennia. So no person can claim these approaches, just rebottle them for the times each person lives in and express their understanding of them in their unique way. Lester called this "The Sedona Method" because he happen to be in Sedona, AZ when gaining clarity of how it felt best to share them. All my best to you, David

      Yes, in its own unique way, it points to the non-dual reality of all that is, that looks like feelings, thoughts, and emotions, but is not defined by any of them. Beneath it all, and AS it all, life is to be seen, allowed, then realized to be consciousness, a unified and unbound beingness, our own very nature.

      Hello Marc. Thank you for your comments. You are completely correct. These principles are of ancient times. The offer of this modern approach is simply for those who hear it and it resonates for them in this form. We are on the same page. Even before Buddhism, ancient indigenous wisdom tells us the same essential truths. Thankfully, there are many rays to the One sun. Lester, in his own way in modern day discovered what has been known and spoken of by sages throughout time. May we all discover this Truth of our deepest being. All my best, David
