I am currently in recovery from a substance use disorder and i can testify that addictions often do become your entire personality. One of my biggest fears when I was first trying to quit was that I was nobody without drugs. I had no other hobbies, aspirations, or interests for so long. My addiction was literally my entire life. It was all I thought about and all I did. I had accepted that I would most likely OD at a young age, and that would just be it. Going into recovery, you have to really figure out who you are and why you're here.
As someone who is currently struggling with opiate addiction i can 100% confirm that this is how i feel sometimes, that im like a shell of myself when im not on opiates. I feel like just hollow y'know? I hope you're able to push through and continue making strides in your recovery!

I am currently in recovery from a substance use disorder and i can testify that addictions often do become your entire personality.
One of my biggest fears when I was first trying to quit was that I was nobody without drugs. I had no other hobbies, aspirations, or interests for so long. My addiction was literally my entire life. It was all I thought about and all I did. I had accepted that I would most likely OD at a young age, and that would just be it. Going into recovery, you have to really figure out who you are and why you're here.
