      Is there a quality thermal imaging monocular or binoculars you would recommend for around 500 USD that can ship and sell to someone in the USA?

    I long for the day when this technology is priced affordably for customers other than militaries, governments and Saudi princes.

    Great review mate. I found the same issue with the lens cover as well.

      I use a normal old school binocular 50mm lens cap that goes over the lens attached to my thermal camera with a stretchy cord on my thermal camera so i dont lose the cap. i took off the floppy cap one on mine and threw it away it was driving me mad.

    Just as a different approach to the laser to yours ozzie, if your using a night vision scope and have a mate scanning around with the thermal and he picks up a fox or target, we obviously can't see in the dark. Having the laser to see the general location of the target to be able to get on target I would think would be helpful. If they signal they have a target, and in the dark you have no idea where he might be looking, id think it might be quiet handy! Just my thoughts, you've used the unit and would like your opinion. 👍

    Nice review! Not a bad unit. I would have liked the laser range finder for my Pulsar Helion 2 xp50 pro monocular. The laser range finder allows you to scale the scene and identify the target if it's unknown. The stagmatic range finder is useless for this. I understand there's a difference between shooting and discovery.

    The glitchy frame rate with video , is just a result of the wi fi transfer
    Would be the same for still photos , they would come through at a lower resolution compared to physically taking the memory card out and into a computer.

    Mind blowing to me. I'm a newb to night vision though I only have a cheap night vision goggle that is about adequate for a suburban backyard...if that. Is there anything that performs even a quarter as well for about quarter of the price?

    • @ThatGuyCalledJames
      @ThatGuyCalledJames 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can run a Sionyx Aurora for cheap with a Crytech skull crusher and illuminator for super cheap. I use one in conjunction with a ATN scope and thermal spotter. It's great fun.

    I have a previous model similar price range. I had a problem with it the after-sales service in Victoria was a non-event.. They claimed there was nothing wrong with it. Yet when I received it back it worked? I had to phone them to find out what was happening nobody bothered to contact me. I was really disappointed considering I had spent nearly $4000.oo on this unit. If you are using one of their units in a commercial situation they may try to help as a private individual they just have no interest.

    Thermals that have lasers are for when you drop a hog or deer in long grass you can see it but the guy with you can't so if you put on the laser you can lead him straight to it.

  • @herby375

    do you think it would pick up a snake in the grass?

    • @davidhandyman7571
      @davidhandyman7571 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A normal cold blooded snake, not so much depending on how much heat has been retained. Warm/hot blooded snakes in the grass, definitely, giving you time to hide and pretend not to be home.

    • @ontarget765
      @ontarget765 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've checked and in a good thermal you can pick up movement and the shape but that's almost it. Obviously if the snake was basking you can see it clearer. Sometimes you can pick it up as ever so slightly warmer. That was on my infiray monocular and on a friend's older pulsar. Yes - I'm one of those weirdos that has pet snakes so I've looked a bit.

    So you look through the $4k monocular, see a roo at 300 metres, pick up your rifle with normal scope and ... can't see 💩? What's the point?
