Well I’m still new to it, but there’s definitely some budget options to get practicing! It’s fun, and will be rewarding to catch on something you made!!
I would advise to be careful with the baits you use. I ruined plenty of silicone since this video attempting molds. Hand forming a mold with clay had been the best for fully cured silicone.
@@CrossRhoadesFishing no problem! Make sure you superglue the baits to the box you use, and some silicones dont fully cure against soft plastics. Spray with some sort of clear coat so they cure. Otherwise, the time to fully cure is triple, and you have to wipe spare residue off the mold after with nail polish remover.
So what do u do after u pull out the worm,. I did 1 and the part that touches the worm didn't cure, so do I just wipe it out?wash out? Or let sit to dry without worm in it
Let us know some of your tips and tricks to making molds! We would love to learn and get better with YOUR help!
I've never made a silicone mold, but I feel like a toothpick through the tail into the body, would help keep the tails straight.
Glue the baits in place prior to pouring the silicone. It looks like the tail end of two baits floated upward as the silicone cured.
Love the video guys, we have been thinking about making our own lures for a while now. Just never really knew were to start "LOL"

Did you ever have a solution? I just made one and am curious is this can be fixed!
When your soft plastic is poured into the mold the heat doesn’t effect the silicone?
I used 30 shore silicone, heat doesn't affect it, however there must be a chemical reaction cause my baits come out cloudy...
about how many cups would you say it made
I believe 2. It’s been so long and I do not use the mold anymore.
Mole making is not easy. You have to let it sit for at least 24 hours after pouring the stickiness needs to dry off
