Almost done making the body of this bag. Made a couple modifications to use a pair of them as saddlebags on my motorcycle. Then tooling the top flap, stain to match, and get 'em on the bike!
Fantastic tutorial!! For the pockets, what is the reasoning behind cutting a hole in the body of the bag and the side panel and then adding a backing piece on the inside?
Awesome method on attaching the side pockets. Just a caution to anyone out there sewing this type of thing - Tony pre-shapes the pocket seam a bit to make it easier to attach and stitch - he is doing it dry. If you wet the leather to help shape it, PLEASE let it dry completely before stitching it - sewing on damp leather is a disaster.
Holy Guacamole!!! You are such an individual. And an amazing artist! I’ve seen plenty of bags that were kinda similar but NEVER one like this! There is nothing “cookie cutter” about you that’s for sure. So buying this pattern. It will be my dream bag.
Wow!, Like really Wow! OK folks, I know what Tony has been doing while we were all asleep. OMG, OK, if there was a Golden Glob award for pattern makers? And the winner is::::: Tony See!! (clapping!!!) Great job Tony! Really! I really do like those pockets.
Wow, fantastic! But you make it look so easy! There is a lot of work and even more patience involved in such a pretty bag. Also the reason why such pieces of art cost much more. However, I think this one will last for 20 years, and can then be polished up for some more decades. And then its not really a bad choice... But, I am really interested in making my own - Just to have the hours of creation as an exit from all the daily stress. cheers
Beautiful. A complete joy to watch, be proud of yourself I just watched and got completely hooked. Who would not want one, it’s a piece of art. Thank you.
Tony, you really nailed it with this bag...I love it so much...I already have the pattern..Thx for this great pattern. I love how you stitch the pockets on the bag, it has a look like they are coming out of the bag itself. Great!
you did an awesome job on hand stitching this bad boy. the only thing i would have done differently is i would have slicked all the edges way more then you did there. but i guess thats just personal preference
The flap that ties the handles together needs to be fastened to the back handle so it isn't lost and the laptop pocket on the back needs a flap not a zipper. A flap will help keep water out and the zipper can scratch the laptop.
Laptop doesn't go in the smaller zipper pocket. I made alterations and just left the whole zipper pocket out and instead made a slightly larger flat pocket inside the bag.
Want to get the full effect of watching this entire video in only six minutes? Install one of those video speed controller extensions in Chrome, increase the speed to 10X, and DO NOT TURN OFF THE SOUND! The sound at 10X is very entertaining, but you may have to run around the room really fast about 400 times before you calm down again.
I have a few questions for you if you don’t mind. First how much sq ft of leather was used for this project. Second what needed up being the dry weight of the bag. And 3rd what price point would you put this bag at? Excellent work btw.
That’s awesome 👏🏾 I like how you designed your pieces and made your stitching holes before you even cut your pattern that’s precision right there homie. I like the music too. Beautiful craftsmanship. 👍🏾
Tony - Great job. I am going to be making one myself, and from watching the video, I know I am going to be using a 2.0 hole punch around those pockets:-) Three layers of leather at 1.2mm thread. I am gonna knock out some huge holes to drive those needles through :-)
RC VOODOO it looks like he used the beginning of a generic video on the “cutting out” part. Look at the shape of the A pieces. It is a different pattern. Also, he has on a different shirt. The leather does not look like veg tan. It looks like a pre dyed leather.
I ordered this and cut out all the pieces, watched the video, and realized I am short about two square feet of leather. No matter how I lay out the patterns, it just doesn't fit...bummer. Off to the leather store. I can't wait to put this together.
@@komakon it depends on the quality of leather you can afford. I purchased a chrome tan water buffalo side from Tandy. It is a mid grade leather. Being a Gold member I paid $80 just for the leather. It was too thick for the inside panels of the pockets so I used a thinner oil tan for those pieces. Then there's the buckles at $3 a piece. And rivets. Probably just over $100 for materials. You could definitely do it for cheaper or a lot more expensive depending on how good you want it to look or how long you want it to last. I'm almost done with it and can tell this bag will outlast me even with rugged use. It's a great pattern.
If i wanted to buy a 4 pronged pricking iron, what size would i need for this bag? I know the hole is 1.5mm but what about the distance between the holes? i think it is called the pitch.
2 questions, why are the inside walls of the pockets separate from the main body, making it a 3 layer attachment. And why are the sides of the body attached in a weaker manner than the pockets to the sides. i ask these things because i believe a key component to anything is durability, so would like to understand the reasoning.
Sir, your use of that strip of leather designed to fit between the side piece and main bag body ends is genius. I enjoy how that type piece worked on the Leather toiletry bag. I am designing a small tool bag and that method should work wonders. I am buying your plans to make this and your toiletry bag for holiday gifts. TY kindly for your Artistry.
Wow i love your work , just starting out myself, hope to do this build? But at $600 you are giving that away! For your time and the price of leather $1000 is more like it, can you make 3 of those a week? Good job
Is there a specific reason why there are 2 D-rings on each side of the bag and just 1 hook on the schoulder strap? I might change the shoulder strap to have 2 hooks (because it look awesome) but if there is a good reason not to, I would like to know before I mess up some leather.
Almost done making the body of this bag. Made a couple modifications to use a pair of them as saddlebags on my motorcycle. Then tooling the top flap, stain to match, and get 'em on the bike!
A whole hour?? Are you kidding me? OMG, this bag is gorgeous!!!! I can't wait to watch this!!!!!!
That is an hour edited
@@phillaboody I know. I was talking about the length of the video.
Watching a piece of leather morph into this bag is mesmerizing. This bag is now a functional piece of art. Well done!
the way it's done, this is meant to last several lifetimes ! good job sir !
Your video made me change my plans for winter, big thumbs up!!!
Fantastic tutorial!! For the pockets, what is the reasoning behind cutting a hole in the body of the bag and the side panel and then adding a backing piece on the inside?
This is most beautiful bag that I have ever seen! I can't wait until I have enough skills to do this.
I just watched a portion of this video. I am still going to make time for the entire lot. I just wanted to say that this bag is way too beautiful!!!
I was not sold on the usefulness of a burnishing attachment for a drill/dremel until I watched your videos. Just ordered one.

Finished this bag week ago, pretty amazing

I would be so tempted to use my big sewing machine but there is no way to get such great looking results as Tony is getting with his hand stitching.
I am not a leather worker, but I think your work has something of ZEN and some meditative. Thank you for letting us participate.
Tony , This Project is Massive and it is a masterpiece on what I have seen being made. Big up man.
Спасибо МАСТЕР!!! Всегда с интересом смотрю ваши видео, учусь, нахожу для себя что-то новое и беру творческие идеи!!!👍👍👍👍👍

your work area is soooo clean....wish i could be that way hahahah

Pro-Tip: That zipper is going to scratch your MacBook. Make the opening big enough to place the MacBook in there while still in a sleeve.
This was a difficult but fun build!

Can you guess please remind me to watch this saturday so i can enjoy all of it
Please share also how you stained/dyed the leather to get this look. I love the darker, warn look edges. Beautiful.
no words to describe your work. 👌
Im almost done with mine! Hope it turns out 1/2 as perfect as this one :)
Really excellent work, my congratulations, Tony you are a super craftsman, greetings from Peru
I love this bag. You do beautiful work.
Awesome work!! You should send one to a poor teacher in America.
Awesome work, nice finishing, nice design bag
Just gorgeous!! Thanks for the lesson. I hope i'll get close to it when mine is done.
Awesome relaxing video !!!
just got this pattern and 2 more, can't wait to print and cut these once i get some leather and tools next week
you did an awesome job on hand stitching this bad boy. the only thing i would have done differently is i would have slicked all the edges way more then you did there. but i guess thats just personal preference
I would have sewn the handle gather to one of the handles so it doesn't get lost.
Beautiful work though.
Really liking your work, but could ya get a stitching pony?! Lol
I've learned so much from watching this video. I'm going to try making this bag after I practice on some smaller projects!
Tony @ 29:27 better watch which cup you're dipping into.....ha ha ha been there done that!
lol yes spotted too been and done something like that too
Outstanding job, Tony! Can't wait to get to this one. Thank you.
Upper class! Excellent work!
Beautifully done 😊
How do you sharpen your tools and what highend tools do you recommend to buy?
The flap that ties the handles together needs to be fastened to the back handle so it isn't lost and the laptop pocket on the back needs a flap not a zipper. A flap will help keep water out and the zipper can scratch the laptop.
Laptop doesn't go in the smaller zipper pocket. I made alterations and just left the whole zipper pocket out and instead made a slightly larger flat pocket inside the bag.
That's one of the coolest bag i've ever seen.
Loved it, one question. Would you recommend glue the pieces before sewing it?
Ingenius design! Love how it goes together.

Супер! А сколько времени ушло на пошив этой сумки?
you go from raw leather to beautifully stained leather i wish you would have included that in the video at least one small part

Crazy Delight! All products are super! What skin do you use and what is the thickness in mm? Thank.
Great job, love it
I need to make this and modify it to be a back pack.
i wonder if this pattern could work with waxed canvas or something similar? may need more than one layer
Is there a supply list, particularly for the hardware that you used? Thank you

Que hermoso tu trabajo, que habilidad en tus manos, felicidades.
I prefer to use an awl. Hole punches are inherently weaker.
Great bag! and Project execution! How many square ft (meters) does it take to make the bag as shown? Thanks.
Beautiful. What type of dye and color did you use to get that gorgeous finish?
29:26 XD
Good work. I thought it would be bigger
Did you feather the edges with spray paint?
love the work. great looking bag. but i had to watch this like 3 different times the music knocked me out like a baby after eating.
Очень красиво, отличная работа, молодец.
Hi Tony, can you tell me what is the total surface ( how much square metter ) for this bag ? I need to know how much leather I should buy. Thx !
The bag is killer and where do you get your music. There was some bangers in the playlist.

there is a spare d ring for attaching keys, a water bottle etc
Tony, I bought this pattern and made the bag. I LOVE it! But my pattern didn't have the shoulder strap. Is there a way I could get it separately?
Yes. Message me on Etsy
As Josh I'm wandering how you treat the edges, is it airbrushing?
would assume a stain of sorts
Looks like he is using an electric burnisher.
Wow just Wow!!!!!!
