IT TOOK AWHILE BUT MY MYSTERY HEADCANON HAS FINALLY BEEN RELEASED GO CHECK OUT DEEP FREEZE NOW!!!! th-cam.com/video/lq5oBGGP94s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Vh02KaE-bFLOwa_n
My headcanon for Proteus is that he is the ghost engine who fell off the old iron bridge, but he didn't lose control, but rather, he sacrificed himself. Let me explain... In 1906, he was sent to the Skarloey railway to be its number 3, and rather than being painted red, he asked if he could be painted yellow, a rather odd request, but Sir Handel Brown allowed it. From 1906 to 1926, proteus grew from a naive engine to a respectable engine. In 1926, the army was moving explosives out of the Blue Mountain Quarry, which they had used as a military base due to the many tunnels they could hide explosives in. Someone was negligent and threw a lit cigarette near the gunpowder vans. Rheneas was trapped in a siding, so proteus had his driver remove his head lamp and give it to Rheneas. Then his driver opened his regulator, and he pushed the gunpowder vans tward the old iron bridge. Upon reaching the bridge, he derailed himself and the vans to protect the railway. This is why the people in the hills made him a statue and why it's missing the head lamp. As for why he called it a magic lamp, it is because the day the lamp was belted to his smoke box, that was the same day he was told he'd be going to sodor.
Great continuation. I might as well add on some more things from my comment on the previous video. Great Waterton's railway, as previously mentioned, was the Cronk and Harwick Railway, which is actually standard gauge (I didn't specify it last time). Opened in 1850, it was originally horse-drawn and stretched from Harwick to Ustyn Moarin, or Great Waterton in English. It served multiple industries, namely the quarries of Cregwir, and the logging business in and around Ustyn Moarin. regions around Ustyn Moarin was unusually foggy for most of the year, and residents and the engines of the logging railroad nicknamed the area "Misty Island". The horses of the line had to change mid-way to get the trains up and down the line, and in the late 1870's, it was decided to build steam locomotives to better the operations of the line. The first engine, named The Lord, was a small 2-2-2WT engine built circa 1880, bearing slight resemblance to the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Railway's Gazelle in the future. The second locomotive would be named The Lady, who was a 0-4-0T. She was completed in 1884, with principal designer being Eaghan Steaon. She originally had a small coal bunker and no cab, but she was quickly rebuilt to have a half cab and a larger bunker. The Lady ran much better, and was able to do most of the work herself. Despite this, the railway almost became bankrupt due to them building the engines on their own, procuring materials from wherever they could. In the 1890's, passenger services were started, and brought a little bit of more revenue into the railway again. Mr. Steaon would immigrate to the U.S. during the 1900's, and he would change his name to Evan Stone to "Americanize" himself. He would bring his wife and two sons over, as well, and one of his sons would have a child named Burnett later on. Work continued on, although by the 1920's, the railway was in very bad shape, with rails being worn down, and engines being dirty and battered. Things became worse as the logging company was bought out by a competitor and shut down in 1932. The only thing keeping the railway alive were the quarries at Cregwir. Soon, passenger services had to shut down in 1937. During WW2, the railway would be taken over by the War Department, where they utilized the old logging yards for an ammo base. The WD also brought over two more engines; An LBSCR A1, originally named Earlswood, and a GWR Dean Goods, who simply went by Dean. The new engines, along with The Lady, were put on constant work duties, taking ammo back and forth between the small base and the short port at Harwick. The railway remained under WD ownership until the early 60's, when the the ammo base was relocated to the abandoned Skarloey Slate Quarry. The railway was then put into private hands again, but was in no way able to be salvaged, and all assets were sold within the year. The Lady, Earlswood, and Dean were all sold to the NWR, but The Lord never got a buyer, and was scrapped. Today, The Lady works at the Duke of Sodor's Ulfstead Heritage Railway, where she is owned and maintained by Burnett Stone, grandfather of her original designer. Earlswood still works with the NWR, although now named Ronan, after the branch line he was allocated to, and Dean works the Norramby branch, where he retains is WD livery. The Lady is wise, but she is not as good as socializing as other engines, due to her railway's "isolation" in the north of Sodor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hiro in my AU is not one of the first engines on Sodor. He is, of course, a JNR D51. These engines were highly praised for their time, and were called "鉄道の達人" (masters of the railway) by crews and railfans alike. Even so, steam engines were becoming obsolete in Japan, and these engines started getting withdrawn. Most were scrapped, but a lot were being preserved, and Hiro, who wasn't named at the time, was hoping to be one of the lucky ones. In the early 1970's, Sir R. Robert Norramby arranged a meeting with good friend and higher-up of the JNR Takara Hideki (Nicknamed by Norramby as Takaboushi Hideki, due to his fondness of top hats), whom he met in his travels across the world. Takara would agree to sell one of the outgoing D51's to him, and ship him to Sodor. This is when an issue arose; Norramby may be a great guy, but sometimes he rushes things too quickly, and forgets the details. He forgot about Hiro's native track gauge, and he was unable to fit onto the standard gauge tracks. As a temporary move, he would loan Hiro out to the Tidmouth Railway Museum until things can be figured out. After almost 10 years staying dormant at the museum, Hiro would finally get restored, along with getting a re-gauge to standard gauge, with this work being done at Crovan's Gate Works, in exchange for Hiro being loaned out to the NWR for half of every year. During this time, he would also officially recieve his name. He's painted in a special black with gold lining livery, and retained his old JNR numberplates. Hiro, of course, is a very kind and gentle engine, and is always willing to help another out, but he always longs to return back home, though it is unknown if he ever would be able to do so. For the other half of the year he's not with the NWR, Hiro works the Duke's Ulfstead Heritage Railway, as mentioned before, pulling heritage trains from Ffarquhar to Ulfstead Castle, past Boxford Halt, and then ends at Cronk, essentially forming an unofficial loop-line for the NWR Main Line. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's what I got for today.
I’ve Got a headcanon for Rosie’s backstory: Rosie worked in the docks that the E2’s worked at along with her siblings. She worked with the E2’s for a few months and really liked them. But she grew sad and depressed when she found out she was there to replace them. Rosie was sometime later purchased by the north western railway. She liked her new Home but was still sad about the E2’s until one day when she sees Thomas. Rosie is too happy that there still exist an E2, and she want’s to do everything like him to show The Fat Controller, that Thomas is as good as her. She also want’s to be best friends just like her Old life. She later learns (after my second headcanon that rosie moved to wellsworth with Edward, when he left) that Thomas can’t be replaced and changes to a more of a calm engine, complete with a new Chill color! Also strawberry
Headcanon: The reason James is on Sodor before his “1st Day” is because he was working on the Noramby branch, which if you don’t know it is 100% ran by the other railway or at the time LMS when James crashed the fat controller felt sorry for him and purchased him. Mainly because prior to the accident, James didn’t have his pony truck and the Northwestern gave him the pony truck as an experiment without LMS permission. Strawberry
My Headcannon: BoCo got tired of Bill and Ben's bullshit and left to the mainland and asked Sir Topham Hatt if Mavis could take over his work. Strawberry Fields Forever
The editing goes crazy 🤯🤯🤯 I really enjoyed the concise and compact editing and vo work, it really mends the video together and made it all the more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work 🎉
This one is more of an idea for an anime I have, but here it is: in 1966, Topham is fucking assassinated, and the railway is taken over by British Rail. The steam engines are all scrapped, except for Thomas, who spends 20 years hiding in an old shed, slowly going insane until he eventually goes on a genocidal rampage, resulting in *HUGE* amounts of destruction on the railway. Thomas later ran away to the bluebell railway where he still is to this day.
In my AU, the NWR has a ConDor service and a Package Delivery Service. The latter is inspired by Wild nor' Westers series. The North West Package Express, or NWPE, had been formed in 1992 after the Mail service was discontinued due to a lack of traffic. Percy was talking to Jason, a mail van assigned to the branch, like in the aforementioned series. Jason wanted to make sure his brothers were still useful, so Percy, after seeing Toby deliver a package for a Mail Courier. Talks to the fat controller and gets the NWPE going. As for the ConDor train, it runs from Tidmouth,in my AU, to the mainland twice a day. Once after, the Flying Kippet leaves, and once after, the Evenig Express leaves. Sir Steven Toppham Hat, the current Fat Controller, had bought an LNER V2 express freight engine to pull the container trains full time. They also take a container train to brendam docks at tea time in both the morning and afternoon. The V2 and James butt heads over whether or not Freight is more important than passengers, but after James ran for two weeks in the V2's brake shoes, he gained a deal of respect for them and their dedication to their work. Strawberry
My headcannon is that the NWR uses modern freight cars that go across britain. For overseas or local shipments, they use the plant wagons and wooden vans and whatnot.
5:22 I mean to be fair, even in the railway series Thomas isn’t the first engine on Sodor. He’s not even the 10th. And even if we’re only talking about the NWR, Edward actually arrived first, Thomas was just the first purchased by the railway officially since he and Edward stuck around for its entire construction before being officially bought
Nia in my AU is a standard gauge variant of her class that ran on a fictional railway in Africa. She came in 1957 in the International Railway Show on Sodor (my version of the Great Railway Show) and after a deputation held by the engines, she along with Hiro, Ashima, Carlos, and Frieda stayed on Sodor. She works on the Kirk Ronan with Emerson (Sonny), Sydney, Clive, Neil, Matthew, and Stanley. My mainland headcanon gets weird as the NWR expanded onto the Mainland in the early 2010s. Most of my OCs are from America, and most of the American Engines introduced in the series, including Hank, Rosie, Porter, Connor, Caitlin, & Sam, belong to my human characters William and his grandson Matthew.
i wonder what nia's life was like before the bwba movie and what was her life like after she lost her shed, wonder what were the experimental engines and the steelworks enignes lives were like before jbs
Pretty cool video! I like when people share their headcanons. I'm still wrapping my head around how I want to work Great Waterton in. I have a headcanon for "Toby's" branchline. The Ulfstead branchline was built in the late sixties, but the construction on it was delayed due to a bad snowstorm. When Toby needed to get a vet to some sheep stranded on the hillside, he decided to use the unfinished branchline to get there. Later, the branchline was finished and Edward was sent to teach Flora how to run it. (Edward the Really Useful Engine). It still needs some adjustments. Strawberry
I think the official thing for Thomas is that he is just the first engine officially owned by the Sodor railway (ignoring that one episode about number origins) and the older engines were owned by separate rail companies (I.E the scarloery, culdee-fell, sodor & mainland and mid-sodor railways) or as loan engines from the mainland like Edward was originally as he is a Furness engine
My headcanon for freddie in my au or smh: When the mid sodor closed. Freddie was sent all the way into south america to work on a railway for many years, The northern haven astoria railway. but was later Donated back into the skarloey railway. during him working in the railway in south america he and a another engine becamed freinds since they were the same class, however the engine hit a goods train and fell of a ravine. The Coaches who were dangling were later pulled back onto the rails safely. basically like how duke pulled falcon safely Hence he was named "fearless freddie" STRAWBERRY AAAAAAA
Here’s my other weird Thomas head canon. The vehicles (depending on which) can actually consume human food but like this. Steam powered vehicles like Thomas or Trevor can eat actual foods like steak, pizza, sushi, burgers, yknow, food you’d pick up with a spoon, fork, knife, chopsticks or your hand but Diesel powered vehicles like Bertie and Diesel can only consume liquids like fruit punch or milkshakes. It goes in their fuel tank thingies and once it’s in they can taste the flavor of the food. Yes they can’t eat certain foods kind of like allergies (Eg. Whiff can’t consume anything with peanuts)
I have several 1. Edward pulls a special Express service on his branchline called the Brendam Express because of the event's of old iron It starts at knapford knapford junction wellsworth and all the stops on his branchline this high speed train was gonna be a thing just for the summer but it was so popular it stayed on the roster permanently 2. The reason Gordon has a sloped footplat is because this is what gresly wanted while he was happy with the a1 Pacifics he originally wanted to give them sloped footplats so he tested it out on Great Northern the actual prototype and it was a success so he put one on Gordon and a month later he was sold to the Northwestern Gordon was rebuilt into an A3 Pacific in 1946 when the war was over he kept the slope to pay tribute to sir nigel gresley who died in 1941 3. Gordon's LNER number was 4473 making him younger than The Flying Scotsman 4. Percy was built on October 17 1933 and was sold to the Northwestern on May 23rd 1934 Strawberry I have more by the way🍓
5. Duck is the one with the huge diesel prejudice 6. Gordon didn't retire from the Express he shared with pip and Emma 7. Thanks to bill ben and Derek Edwards Old Furness Railway Express coaches where found and restored and used on the Brendam Express 8. The red engine in the 3 railway engines is named Johnathan he is james brother and after years of being loaned by the Northwestern he was purchased in 1935 after Henry's crash with the kipper he became the number 7 engine and for a few years worked happily that was until the Barrow blitz when 87546 ran away from his Old Railway too hunt Gordon and Henry down when he was about to get them they both left with their passengers and Johnathan took the hit for them and he sadly didn't survive 87546 also died. Strawberry🍓
@@ketelieappolon3617 I’d love to do another one like I mentioned in the video potentially featuring some of your headcanons however I’m not sure how to structure the video. I also have a lot of other videos a wanna make before so if part 3 does come out it probably won’t be for a while. However I hope you look forward to my new videos since if you liked the headcanon videos you’ll love what’s coming up next
My Headcannon goes like this. When Thomas is sent to sodor, he took a wrong turn and ended up in the LMS. The controller offered Thomas a rebuild which removed his seating house pump and gave him some wheel arches and changed his whistle up a bit. When Emily arrives on Sodor, Thomas falls in love with her and after working with her for a few years, he finally works up the courage to confess his feelings. They become boyfriend and girlfriend and years later they got married.
In sodor curse, Trainiac (a TV villian engine from an all engines go episode) is real, a good friend of Diesel 10's and called "Timmy trainiac" one night, Timmy trainiac, arry, bert and Diesel 10 all gather in hiro's hideout where, to take over sodor, Timmy purposefully breaks a truck of purple liquid that evaporates into the fresh air of sodor and turns out to be a curse! The substance cursed the whole of sodor, so that every time there was a crash in the nightime; any train, truck, coach, road vehicle, water vehicle, air vehicle, rolling stock or even human involved inside the crash turned into an evil zombie-like monster the next day! Charlie was the first victim of this curse who crashed into the water of Knapford Harbour!
I like to think for my own head Canon that Sam was experiment to test out if American engine's were safe to be after hank was not successful on being on sodor
@@expressbean64 thank you I'm a person who thinks every one off characters a chance and there the most unique and why the fat controller would buy them if they weren't going to be any use
In My Headcanon Mr. Alf Lock And Mr. Barford Westleth Was Current Manager And Railway Controller Of Blue Mountain Quarry And Peel Godred Industrial Railway
Oh man. I’m not good at this type of stuff but I’ll have a go. Phillip stays at Wellsworth instead of somewhere near knapford because there are cars that arrive overnight in the yard. In my head cannon they are always meant for Knapford. Since Phillip needs to head to Knapford anyways, he takes the cars early in the morning, so Edward doesn’t have to bother. The amount of cars, in my head cannon, is short almost all the time so Phillip is reliable taking it. He also likes to brag about how strong he is when he takes it, and Edward gets his first little chuckle of the day. Strawberry
Headcanon: Tale of the brave take place during the RWS book Thomas and the twins, Because both storys have Thomas work on Edwards branch line due to a damaged bridge on his branch line. Strawberry
In My Headcanon Crovan's Gate And Kellsthorpe Road Railway Was Opened In 1805 Until It Was Closed In 1850s Because It Was Replaced By Sodor And Mainland Railway
In My Headcanon Jacob And Sierra Are Born In August 13, 2001, They Are Come To Island Of Sodor In 2014, Jacob Becomes Music Choir Teacher Of Wellsworth High School Replacing Mrs. Heather Edwards And Railway Controller Of North Western Railway In 2023 And They Are Becomes Engines Driver For Jackie/Jacqueline And Rylie In 2015
Goofy Headcannons: Thomas was named Thomson after his co-builder, He was also built and trialed at brighton, but was sent to a steel mill in barrow in furness, he was built in December 1922, and “escaped” to sodor to avoid the lms Edward was built by sir thopham hatt in 1910 The reason Thomas and Percy never get along is that Percy was a failed prototype of the pug, many variants of him were “built” by Fowler illegally after the furness railway built him a few days before the grouping Henry was built by Fowler in 1923 Characters from different franchises COULD interact with the famous steamers, however, they (characters that are not from ttte) DONT live on sodor. (None of that stuff filled on the internet these days) If there is an area a rail line could make sense, it can happen. (An example would be Thomas interacting with Dorothy from the wizard of oz, HOWEVER… There needs to be a suitable area for rail traffic.) STRAWBERRY 🍓
Crackpot Head canon: Henry, Percy, Norman and Diesel 10 are from the same workshop. Reasons for this are Henry and Percy have the same exact livery and are one of kind engines when we first see them. Percy even has this livery at the workshop, also since Henry in “Edward Gordon and Henry” is offered an NWR blue livery this makes me think the green livery wasn’t done on Sodor. I added Diesel 10 into the head canon because I thought that since Diesel 10 is an illegal design due to pinchy maybe he was built by Henry’s workshop since we know Henry’s builders aren’t above illegal activity. Norman is in this head canon because how his basis BR 11001 was a one off and Dennis had that number meaning should the only one of his kind. Maybe the workshop stole Dennis’s blueprints. Also I’m pretty sure BR 11001 was a bad locomotive, so who would anyone want another one of them, a sketchy workshop with extremely low standards. I feel like other engines could fit in this head canon like Smudger or 13 for example but I haven’t really thought them out like the ones mentioned in the bulk of the comment. Strawberry 🍓 Disclaimer I remember a series which brought up the idea of a connection between Henry and Diesel 10 but I believe I thought this head canon before I watched this series. The series is Sodor then and Now.
In my head cannon proteous is friends with bertram because bertram scares ghosts except proteous because they worked alongside each other on the msr. Strawberry please put this in
Hiro can't work of being the first engine on the island because sodor opened in 1915 and hiro was built in 1936 so that simply doesn't fit as thomas to percy would've been on sodor at that time
As someone who was in the band back in High School I also vibe with alot of the music in Thomas, particularly Classic Series, tho the later eras did have some good music too. As for a headcannon, one I like to subscribe too is that Murdoch and Evening Star are twins (or at least very close siblings) on the level of other twin pairings seen in the show with Murdoch being completed shortly before Evening Star, and the two being separated after Murdoch's withdrawal and subsequent arrival on the NWR. With the 9f's being banned from the Mainline in the present day the two would tragically be separated with little hope of seeing each other again. I also like to use that separation from Evening Star as a reason why Murdoch has a bit of a temper in Peace & Quiet. Strawberry
Headcannon for Jim the mid sodor engine you can see that jim has red wheels and green livery and that is the livery that the Polish state railway uses for most of their narrow gauge locomotives so in my headcannon jim was an attempt of a polish owrkshop building a british locomotive but it failed so they just sold it to the MSR
Strawberry My headcannon for Neville is that he came to the island in 1942 to help with the war effort and the munition and steel trains, wich had increased after another engine's loss during the Barrow Blitz. He pulled heavy goods trains along the main line, occasionaly going to places like Brendam and Peel Godred. He was taken back to the Southern Railway in 1946, after the war ended and goods traffic was lighter. My headcannon for Arthur is that he arrived on Sodor in 1961 on a 10 year loan from BR to pull stopping services and small goods trains along the main line. He was bought by Sir Topham Hatt in 1971 to prevent him from being scrapped and became the railway's number 12. In 1975, he was moved to help restore the Kirk Ronan line and run it once it was open. P.S: His accident happened in 1961. In my headcannon, the biggest dairy of Sodor, Stone & Co., was to realocate to a new factory near the banks of the Els river. The dairy made and arrengement with the NWR in 1962 to build a small yard at the site, with a junction to Thomas' branchline just after Toryreck station. With Sir Topham's help, the manager, Adolf Stone, bought a LNER Y7 tank engine to service the industry and pull the dairy trains to Knapford Haurbor. The engine's name was Laura, gaining the name "Lady of Toryreck" when entering service at Mr. Stone's dairy. Misty Island does exist in my headcannon. It's a small island southeast of Brendam at the mouth of the Suddery Bay. It was special for being one of the few rare locations where a tree species native to Sodor could be found ( along with a few bubbles west of Kirk Ronan ): Joaby wood. In the 1890's, a narrow gauge logging rail line was built on the island, with a small custom 0-4-0, designed by Bertram Hatt, being built to take the logs to a small pier, where barges took it to Brendam and Kirk Ronan. The little railway was shut down in the 1940's, when joaby wood was becoming sparse. The locomotive was going to be sold for scrap, but the ship it was in was torpeadoed by a German U-Boat south of Brendam haurbor. The original engine was never recovered, but a replica was built in 2011 for the Balahoo Railway Museum. Misty island is now a nature reserve since 1979 to preserve the nearly extinct Joaby Wood, wich only about 2.091 examples are believed to exist as of 2024 ( only 596 in 1979). P.S: The locomotive, although faceless, was jokingly named "Dash" by the workers, due to it's quick acceleration speed.
Strawberry 🍓: I have a head canon that the Marklin engine which was in the TV series as a background character was an actual engine that worked on the northwestern railway in my head cannon the Marklin Engine came to the Railway after World War II as a united kingdom surplus locomotive that had been seized from Germany and was put up for sale and was bought by sir topham hat to do extra jobs as needed like being station pilot around Khapford when Duck goes to the little western or covering for Other engines whenever they get into a accident or need general maintenance

This is probably going to be a weird but interesting headcannon I had for a while I wanted to talk about so here we go: you know how in Bachmann there are two troublesome trucks numbered 1 and 2 respectively and on the wiki their names are Naughty and Troublesome; while I’m at it also on the wiki there’s a truce named Old Bennett the most troublesome truck which in the book the most troublesome truck Thomas was nervous to take Old Bennett. Why is that the case well you know what I said about troublesome and naughty earlier, well if I’m right on this, the two trucks were the ones that got the series names the troublesome trucks and Old Bennett learned their ways and eventually surpassed them; Thomas (it doesn’t matter which place Thomas was at the time as long as it took place in his younger years) heard rumors from the trucks about Old Bennett, thus explaining why he didn’t wanted to pull Old Bennett. Forgot to mention this but I think Naughty and Troublesome are the first two 7-plank trucks in the series. Strawberry

I have a headcannon as to how rosie got to sodor, where she came from and why she was changed to red, so during ww2 rosie was built and sent to the dockyard railroad to help with wartime efforts but do to a faulty lamp the workmen couldnt see what they were loading and the thought rosie was a tank or a different locomotive so she was put on a boat to sodor but after the war the dockyard railroad company marked her as destroyed in the war and she was officially sold to the nwr where she was painted red and works at vicarstown

My head cannon for Neil is that the was on sodor with hawin, 1020 and the red engine when Thomas and Edward arrived 1020 got into a really bad accident and was killed and due to financial difficulties they sold nei to the crovans gate mining company and hawin and the red engine to an unknown railway, a few years later the CGMC closedown and they sold Neil for scrap his driver takes Neil to an abandoned harbour section and he leaves him there In present day Toby get bumped into that harbour section and finds Neil and the fat controller restores him Strawberry
I have a head canon for Philip! Philip was built at Crovan's Gate Works sometime in April, 2014. Philip was named after Bear's driver, Phil, who was born in England in 1946 and was 21 years old when he became Bear's driver in 1967. Phil turned 68 in 2014, and that explains Philip's number 68. And Philip was painted in Bear's colors, Green and Yellow. Also, the year Phil was born, 1946, was the same year the second Railway Series book, Thomas the Tank Engine was published. And like Cosmic Engine (formerly known as Mr. Ryan) explained before that Philip was introduced in 2015 the year of the 70th anniversary of The Railway Series books, and that Philip is like Thomas, young and eager.

So you know how in a season 12 episode Toby finds a Sodor Tramways Sign? in my head canon, that was Toby's old old line. Here's what I mean: Toby worked on Sodor Tramways when he was built, then, he was sent to East Anglia as where he worked in the RWS, In Oliver's Discovery, Oliver crashed into Toby's old old shed and Topham reopened the line & Arlesburgh End (Arlesdale End in TVS since I have both Toby's Old Old Line & Arlesdale Minature railway) became a through line connecting to the Season 3 Ffarquhar Quarry (I have more than 1 Ffarquhar Quarry) and was relocated to his old old shed. What do you think? Strawberry
I wouldn't call myself a band kid but I am multi instrumental. I personally don't like the idea of the themes being canon I guess? I mean I would put it in my head canon if it was like a meta reference, anyways great vid! 😊😊
Thanks and it’s cool. Pretty much the themes are just little tunes that the engines hum to themselves. I do have an episode idea around it that is a bit meta tho
Here are some of mine James didn't receive his extended running board till after his crash with the trucks the reason it was a curve he derailed on and James class had a problem with top-heavy ness so the leading wheel was added to prevent this problem from happening again Sir handle back on the midsodor was a 0-4-0 and only became a 0-4-2 because of modifications the skarloey railway gave him when he first arrived the reason being they didn't want a incident happening where he would buck and bounce like skarloey when he first came to the railway Duck actually has a huge diesel prejudice and was honestly rude to diesel when he first arrived, so instead of duck being completely in the right and diesel wrong it's a grey area where both sides are to blame In contrast with duck, Oliver never had a prejudice against desiels since when he was escaping a few kind diesels helped him an example includes Paxton who was taking a train Early in the morning saved Oliver who was stuck out on the mainline because he ran out of coal, so he pushed him to an abandoned yard so he would be safe and later that day came back with coal and water to help him refuel. The north westerns railway moto is "we can't save every engine, but if a engine shows up at our doorstep and is willing to work, who are we to turn them away After Henry's flying kipper crash and when he came back as a black five Henry's nameplate is shaped like a fish on the side of his smokebox and had fish painted on the back of his tender due to Henry's request since he figured new me new look Gordon was given the name The soaring Gordon after beating his express record and had gotten a new nameplate similar to the flying Scotsman where it's over his middle wheel arch And my last head cannon A lot of people like to complain about why are there so many foreign engines on sodor not from the UK while in reality it makes a lot of sense, my head cannon is basically sodor is the only place in the whole world where steam is in widespread and a save haven for steam engines if engines like Oliver are willing to risk their lives to try to get to sodor who's to say engines from other parts of the world wouldn't try to do the same even if the trip is more longer and dangerous, another reason foreign engines turn up on sodor is because sodor sodor has a lot of various terrain and different engines are good for different things for instance American locomotives are known for their immense strength, it takes two Henry's to match the strength of one Hank so I assume Hank can solo Gordon's hill with ease, another reason why forgien engines show up on sodor is because sir toppem hat loves anything to do with railways from far and wide so he's always looking to add more to his fleet, plus it all ties back into the motto I've listed above. This is a personal theory I have for Diesel. The reason why Diesel was out of character in the Brenner era (depending on your view) is because that’s not actually Diesel himself, they’re actually his siblings. I got this inspiration from how The Unlucky Tug describe Diesel as “one of many other” and I like to think Hiro is one of the D51s that was sent to South Korea because those D51s can actually fit on standard gauge track unlike the other ones that actually are fitted for cape gauge (it’s thin for the average standard gauge engine but it’s too wide for narrow gauge locomotives)
Those are both really cool. I especially like the Hiro one since it gives him a way to actually fit on the tracks on Sodor without needing to be overhauled
@@expressbean64 also fun fact, I’ve been doing my research and I found out that locomotives from the Tallylyn Railway would’ve be able to fit on the Ffestiniog Railway track or American narrow gauge (Rio Grande or Cumbers & Toltec) track but they can fit on some amusement theme park track (not counting the main trains in Knott’s Berry Farm or the Disneyland Railroad)
Would just like to hop in on the Hiro thing, those specific engines (classified as KNR Mika7's), weren't actually sent to Korea as D51's, they were built from the ground up in 1950 for work in Korea. Unfortunately both were scrapped in 1965.
Headcanon idea: Sodor being added to the world rally championship calendar. That would put characters like Ace and other rally cars on sodor for a week to compete.
Well my headcanon is going to be on Thomas and my OC Allen the red tank engine. First Thomas he is E2 number 105 as a experiment with a sand box and a second cab window. Sadly I didn’t work out so E2 number 106 to 109 was built like how they were in real life Thomas worked at South Hampton for a few months in till he got to sodor and then I plays out like the RWS. And now my OC Allen is E2 number 103 he’s just a normal E2 and he was Thomas’s teacher before he left for sodor. After that Allen worked hard in till the 60s when he was sent for scrap. But the night before his driver and fireman drove him far away from the docks and got him to a shed at a station. He stayed there for about 7 years when Gordon found him and took him back to sodor where and reunited with Thomas. His life on sodor can be seen in my series sodor railway adventures on my channel Braden’s engineering show! Thank for reading! Strawberry 🍓
My head cannon for hiro is he was a exchange from japan in the late 1930s and he came to sodor in as a sub for Henry after volunteered to fight in the war I also believe Emily was a s&m engine and had a brother on sodor Proteus and Freddie where on loan to the Skr but Proteus died and Freddie was sold .Rebecca came to help Gordon in the 1960s they are both retired but Gordon pulls a special train to the mainland 4 days a week and Rebecca is on railtours up to London.

Hiro in my AU is not one of the first engines on Sodor.

That's what I got for today.
I’ve Got a headcanon for Rosie’s backstory:
Rosie worked in the docks that the E2’s worked at along with her siblings.
Nice use of Rosie. Love hit era character headcanons
This would also explain why Thomas is hostel to Rosie when they first meet
Headcanon: The reason James is on Sodor before his “1st Day” is because he was working on the Noramby branch, which if you don’t know it is 100% ran by the other railway or at the time LMS when James crashed the fat controller felt sorry for him and purchased him. Mainly because prior to the accident, James didn’t have his pony truck and the Northwestern gave him the pony truck as an experiment without LMS permission.
Strawberry
Really nice origin for James
My Headcannon: BoCo got tired of Bill and Ben's bullshit and left to the mainland and asked Sir Topham Hatt if Mavis could take over his work.

Stanley working at great waterton just makes so much sense
Strawberry
While I haven’t seen wild nor’ western’s series this sounds pretty cool
My headcannon is that the NWR uses modern freight cars that go across britain. For overseas or local shipments, they use the plant wagons and wooden vans and whatnot.
Reason that james is there as a gifted from the LMS to buy the NWR it failed also replaceding a sodor and mainland NER 1,000 class
All wonderful questions. I guess it’s up to us the fans to figure it out
Pretty cool video!
Strawberry
Cool to see some remembers Flora
Great watorton was made by Toby’s old railway in my headcanon it closed in 1899 because of a bombing during ww2
My headcanon for freddie in my au or smh:
When the mid sodor closed.
The Coaches who were dangling were later pulled back onto the rails safely. basically like how duke pulled falcon safely
Hence he was named "fearless freddie"
STRAWBERRY AAAAAAA
Murdock came in 1960 during the BR NWR split

2. The reason Gordon has a sloped footplat is because this is what gresly wanted while he was happy with the a1 Pacifics he originally wanted to give them sloped footplats so he tested it out on Great Northern the actual prototype and it was a success so he put one on Gordon and a month later he was sold to the Northwestern Gordon was rebuilt into an A3 Pacific in 1946 when the war was over he kept the slope to pay tribute to sir nigel gresley who died in 1941
3. Gordon's LNER number was 4473 making him younger than The Flying Scotsman
4. Percy was built on October 17 1933 and was sold to the Northwestern on May 23rd 1934

5. Duck is the one with the huge diesel prejudice
6. Gordon didn't retire from the Express he shared with pip and Emma
7. Thanks to bill ben and Derek Edwards Old Furness Railway Express coaches where found and restored and used on the Brendam Express

This headcannon feels so crazy to me, that ive actually made up a whole thomas and friends AU out of it! This AU is called "sodor curse"
Thomas is a one-off hybrid of an E2, Jinty and FR G5 built some time after Gordon.
Could explain why he looks different in several RWS books

Goofy Headcannons:
Thomas was named Thomson after his co-builder, He was also built and trialed at brighton, but was sent to a steel mill in barrow in furness, he was built in December 1922, and “escaped” to sodor to avoid the lms
Edward was built by sir thopham hatt in 1910
The reason Thomas and Percy never get along is that Percy was a failed prototype of the pug, many variants of him were “built” by Fowler illegally after the furness railway built him a few days before the grouping
Henry was built by Fowler in 1923
Characters from different franchises COULD interact with the famous steamers, however, they (characters that are not from ttte) DONT live on sodor. (None of that stuff filled on the internet these days) If there is an area a rail line could make sense, it can happen. (An example would be Thomas interacting with Dorothy from the wizard of oz, HOWEVER… There needs to be a suitable area for rail traffic.)

Like the idea of STH building Edward makes their connection more special
The idea of connecting Henry’s origins with diesel honestly goes hard

My headcannon for Neville is that he came to the island in 1942 to help with the war effort and the munition and steel trains, wich had increased after another engine's loss during the Barrow Blitz.
For the longest time I didn’t even think marklin was real but ever since I found out they were I’ve been wanting to make a custom of them

Strawberry
I love giving troublesome trucks names and personalities. While they may be troublesome they are the backbone of a railway

i like to think that belle and thomas would be very good friends scince day of the diesels took place in 1969 (railway reference?!) and after that the events of my cannon of bwba take place and we meet a basically diesel thomas, a class 07 called elijah, and after that thomas works at the rescue centre except for fridays which is when he mentors eli!

I believe hero was the six engine on Sodor Clive, Neil Adams scar Lowey and Renees came before him

My head cannon for Neil is that the was on sodor with hawin, 1020 and the red engine when Thomas and Edward arrived 1020 got into a really bad accident and was killed and due to financial difficulties they sold nei to the crovans gate mining company and hawin and the red engine to an unknown railway, a few years later the CGMC closedown and they sold Neil for scrap his driver takes Neil to an abandoned harbour section and he leaves him there
In present day Toby get bumped into that harbour section and finds Neil and the fat controller restores him

Awesome I always love hearing headcanons about our favorite box car diesel
@@expressbean64 Thank you! Also, I have a few TATMR head canons that are based on the original cut! Lily and Patch grew up and got married and have their own son and daughter, PJ and Tasha. PJ stands for Patch Junior, and Tasha is named after Lily's grandmother. And that name of Lily's young brother would be Aaron, named after Mara Wilson's cousin, Benjamin Aaron Shapiro.
@@dylanlyles9453 love a good tatmr headcanon however I would’ve named her son Burnett or Junior instead of Arron but that’s just me it’s still a neat name
@@expressbean64 I said Aaron is the name of her BROTHER, not son.
Strawberry
That’s really awesome. Really wish they did something with the Sodor tramways in the actual show
I wouldn't call myself a band kid but I am multi instrumental.
Epic mind blowing also Neville stronger than henry and Murdoch
Thanks also that’s a cool take with Neville. I never even thought of him being on par with Henry and Murdoch but that’s pretty cool
Neville is not stronger than Murdoch He’s only a slightly stronger version of power class 5 the LMS 5s are on the middle of the spectrum
Here are some of mine
James didn't receive his extended running board till after his crash with the trucks the reason it was a curve he derailed on and James class had a problem with top-heavy ness so the leading wheel was added to prevent this problem from happening again
Sir handle back on the midsodor was a 0-4-0 and only became a 0-4-2 because of modifications the skarloey railway gave him when he first arrived the reason being they didn't want a incident happening where he would buck and bounce like skarloey when he first came to the railway
Duck actually has a huge diesel prejudice and was honestly rude to diesel when he first arrived, so instead of duck being completely in the right and diesel wrong it's a grey area where both sides are to blame
In contrast with duck, Oliver never had a prejudice against desiels since when he was escaping a few kind diesels helped him an example includes Paxton who was taking a train Early in the morning saved Oliver who was stuck out on the mainline because he ran out of coal, so he pushed him to an abandoned yard so he would be safe and later that day came back with coal and water to help him refuel.
The north westerns railway moto is "we can't save every engine, but if a engine shows up at our doorstep and is willing to work, who are we to turn them away
After Henry's flying kipper crash and when he came back as a black five Henry's nameplate is shaped like a fish on the side of his smokebox and had fish painted on the back of his tender due to Henry's request since he figured new me new look
Gordon was given the name The soaring Gordon after beating his express record and had gotten a new nameplate similar to the flying Scotsman where it's over his middle wheel arch
And my last head cannon A lot of people like to complain about why are there so many foreign engines on sodor not from the UK while in reality it makes a lot of sense, my head cannon is basically sodor is the only place in the whole world where steam is in widespread and a save haven for steam engines if engines like Oliver are willing to risk their lives to try to get to sodor who's to say engines from other parts of the world wouldn't try to do the same even if the trip is more longer and dangerous, another reason foreign engines turn up on sodor is because sodor sodor has a lot of various terrain and different engines are good for different things for instance American locomotives are known for their immense strength, it takes two Henry's to match the strength of one Hank so I assume Hank can solo Gordon's hill with ease, another reason why forgien engines show up on sodor is because sir toppem hat loves anything to do with railways from far and wide so he's always looking to add more to his fleet, plus it all ties back into the motto I've listed above.

@@someonewhotalks that really cool. Now I can’t but but think of skarloey in the middle of a theme park
Would just like to hop in on the Hiro thing, those specific engines (classified as KNR Mika7's), weren't actually sent to Korea as D51's, they were built from the ground up in 1950 for work in Korea. Unfortunately both were scrapped in 1965.
@@expressbean64 I’m also a band kid! Trombone and piano are my instruments, which are yours?
Headcanon idea: Sodor being added to the world rally championship calendar. That would put characters like Ace and other rally cars on sodor for a week to compete.
Nice! Maybe they could build the race track near Edward’s station
@Expressbean 64 it's held on public roads that are closed for the event. It's point A to point B and the winner is the one with the shortest time.
Pretty cool I always love reading about OC’s
