Hi! I’m going to be painting a BBQ - Can I ask what the stage one paint prep process is? Are you painting the first coat on and then buffing it off so it acts as a primer? I can see that you’re rubbing something on the metal just before the other guy buffs it off? Any guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Correct, we have not found a high heat primer that is affordable and worth a crap. We lay down a base coat of high heat black. Let dry for about 48 hours, sand with a 400 grit and then apply final coat. This process works great and holds up against the heat and humidity that is associated with smoking meats.
