    some of the arguments of these doctors were frightening:"if it does its purpose its ok", "paracetamol has side effects too". hmmm yeah but the side effects of paracetamol are nothing compared to what the pill can do to you

    Young girls are so lucky to be able 'to search about it " there was no computer when I was a teenager , and you didn't want to ask your parents . You have so many options today , I even had an endometriosis before Google even existed and I was in so much pain ( it took 5 years to diagnosed it ) that I took the option to have full hysterectomy and got menopaused at 30 ....worst decision ever , I should have kept an ovary even if there was risk of more pain ....getting a menopause at 30 , you can say goodbye to your social life .

    I remember going on the pill in my early 20s because my periods were so bad and although they really did help to lighten them my doctor didnt tell me the side effects of the pill fully. For me it lead to a massive weight gain and made my hormones go all over the place which was awful.
    Brought it up the next time i was at the doctors and was basically told well its one or the other 🙄. Luckily im with a much better doctors and they changed my pill xx

    It's the waiting list to get the Mirena coil that annoyed me. I wasn't told that you should plan ahead for the coil, that in the last year or so your periods get heavier and the biggest one being if you haven't given birth naturally and had a cesarean it may be to painful to insert. I had to get put asleep after 3 attempts ! Contraception is more of a minefield the older you are because you are very limited.

    It's a disgrace that in 2023 women are still being let down and ignored regarding contraception.
    Having to go to apps like tik tok shows how bad its got

      So you think women are not smart enough to inform themselves?

    • @The_Irish_Wolf
      @The_Irish_Wolf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Women are not ignored, and the argument that there is not enough research being done is simply not true, many studies are being done on both sex's contraceptive options, but nothing has proven to be more effective (or in any way effective for the male side). Good research takes time, and one can not rush it, or else terrible consequences can occur.

      They're not being let down. That's a talking point based in nonsense. Most people will go to apps like TikTok regardless of the quality of information they can get at better sources, because they are lazy. They could even go to Wikipedia as opposed to TikTok for this information, and that would take hardly any effort. Stop virtue signalling; it makes you look dumb.

      @@The_Irish_Wolf What you are looking at is the moaning of SJWs who are never happier than when they can say some group is being let down by society.

      @@The_Irish_Wolfthey have only being studying womens bodies since 1993. Even still they form a lesser percentage of the study because womens bodies tend to get more side effects and scupper the results. Men get local anesthetic gel for insertion of urinary catheter women aren’t even offered nor is it used for any gynae tests like biopsy of the cervix or insertion of an iud when commonly causes pain. Even if during the procedure it’s obviously causing pain they still push ahead with none and tell you to take ibuprofen or paracetamol when you limp home. It also takes years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis or poly cystic ovary because wonens symptoms are commonly ignored . Menopausal women are more likely to be offered an antidepressant for hormonal issues not just sex hormones but symptomatic thyroid disease without them even checking bloods. That has got slightly better in recent years probably because of social media and women speaking up and the one earlier study on hrt being debunked as bad research. If have a dr that listens and understand your lucky or maybe you just haven’t had any issues yet and haven’t noticed just how bad it is. There are a lot of stones from women on line that talk around their experiences.

    Every woman is different. One type of contraception might work for one person and not for another . I’ve been on the implant for coming up to 5 years now I’ve not really had any issues and it’s done its job, however I have heard about people still getting pregnant with the implant . Same goes for the pill they aways say contraception is not 100% but it’s about time,e we had an option that is 100% without having to have are tubes tied . Obviously if u have contraception and use condoms then it’s way less likely u will get pregnant but still we deserve the right to have full protection

    My hustory: wenr on the pill at 16. ... Abortion ... 1 natural birth ... coui implant ..replaced coil implant ...pill to treat acne ... coil removal to get pregnant ...mucous test after that to get pregnant again...mucous test not to get pregnant ... a few condoms ...steady partner and "line shut down" ( meno(
    I was exceptionally lucky as all was easy breezy and I never had any side effects, cramps, heavy periods or migraine.

    • @The_Irish_Wolf
      @The_Irish_Wolf ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's your experience, calling it a lie is both incorrect and damaging to the vast majority of people who use it and have little to no issues. It is terrible that you had a bad experience, but your experience is not reflective of everyone...in future please think twice about how you phrase your comment

      You’re obviously religious and I respect that, however sex isn’t just about conceiving it’s a natural human function. Speaking as a woman, I think that in the 21st century that women should have the right to access contraception.

    • @dianehall2248
      @dianehall2248 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@kittyw778 How is he or she obviously religious? That's a pure statement of logic he or she made. Don't be silly. If you don't want to abstain, then you have to be prepared to make some sacrifices for your behaviour, which means being prepared to go out of your way to find out about, and pay for, contraception.

  • @dianehall2248
    @dianehall2248 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The pill is associated with a range of health problems after long term use. However, you need to also differentiate between absolute and relative risks. For example, you may have a doubled risk for a given cancer if you use a medication, but that is a relative risk. Your absolute risk of the cancer may remain very, very low.
    I find it ridiculous to say women have been let down by medicine when it comes to contraception when you have so many different options available. This sort of talk is just your typical feminist victim identity. You have lots of options, and some of them have negligible to no side effects, just like men. You have not been failed. You want to say you were failed, because nothing will ever be good enough.
    It's also nuts that you have a current narrative about Britain having an ageing population, and this being a reason to import massive numbers of migrants, because you don't have enough young Brits to keep the economy going, yet you are pushing for more and more contraception.
