agree with your "step back" opinion and the fact that a man has written this song bleh... also agree with your "rica rica" opinion, nature disappointed me hard with this one, i was rooting for them so much and after almost 2 years this is what we got ugh. my personal fav january comebacks would be - - *catch the stars* - woo!ah! (hoping for more songs the next comeback though) - *do it like this* - p1harmony - *tattoo* - alexa - *dm* - fromis_9 (i get what you mean, it kinda sounds like a mix between "talk & talk" and "feel good") - *yummy yummy love* - momoland (this is the first time ever that i like a song by them haha the lyrics are silly but it's really catchy somehow and i like the vocals especially from their main vocalist) - *chronograph* - victon (not their best title track and kinda basic but really enjoyable compared to most of the recent boygroup releases + i like their b-side "want me" even more)
I’m not even going to talk about the lyrics of “Step Back,” I just don’t like the production of it. I’ve grown tired of these “growers” or polarizing songs. Why can’t I get a song that’s great on first listen? And the song just didn’t meet my expectations musically when you have such an amazing lineup. The vocals and star power carried this song!
i'd listen to 'step back' on repeat if the lyrics weren't what they are... and it's hard for me to 'just enjoy a song' when i know i don't like or disagree with the meaning of it. like, i like how it sounds (not everything because as you've said, the vocals get kinda lost when there's so much chanting and the 'silly girl' part just annoys me so much). it's like i both love and don't like this song at the same time but can't listen to it
I was quite excited for GOT but I'm so disappointed with the lyrics and the fact that they agreed to be on the song. I wish they didn't agree to sing it. It sucks how SM didn't see an issue with the song just saw another money making tactic
If Got Did a “women empowerment” thing it would be considered a cliche almost. I don’t think this song is put down women, just the person that is taking their man who happens to be … a woman. People just seem to take anything they see on the internet and go with its i think they slayed saurrryyy I’m not a sensible little girl

A guy wrote the lyrics of step back and he's known for being problematic, when he recieved an award you can see Taeyong not clapping at all and Yuta clapping like really slowly and without any energy like "I'm clapping because I have to but nope" anyway the lyrics are really disapointing thanks to the guy not being able to write good lyrics for wonderful women :\
DM is NOT hyped. Like not at all. No one talks abt how good this is. It’s such a good song, and their most popular. But it still didn’t made them popular… it isn’t overhyped at all bc it wasn’t hyped ANYWHERE
