And this time Jon Lovett is joined by Langston Kerman, Ira Madison III, Erin Ryan, and Travis Helwig to let off some steam about everything from Space Force and Super Bowl Ads to celebrity boxing and Chromatica Oreos. And more importantly, they ask the question: are WE to blame for the Emily in Paris Golden Globes nominations?

Last time they did the rant wheel I thought "Jon can certainly carry this segment solo but it would be fun if they brought someone else in to do it with him" and I'm so delighted to have gotten my wish and then some! Great segment! Also I think Travis should be on the show more! I love on podcasts when the production team isn't afraid to show their personalities and chime in to have fun with the host, and it certainly works well with him and Jon. (If Travis ever sees this comment I promise I'm not pandering and actually mean it lol). ALSO shout-out to the video team for doing a great job adding visual elements to these segments. 💖

How much money is this space force taking away from poor people?
I loved the structure of this episode. Everyone came with A+ material
For those wondering the reason Hamilton qualifies is because the last day out of their three day shoot was with out the audience allowing them to stop and go in ordered for them to capture all the close up and specialty angle shots. Then the footage from all three days was cut together to present a version of the stage production that the original stage show creators felt best represented and in turn would invoke for those watching it the same emotional response as watching the stage show live. Now had this been an edited of a single performanc, it would be correct not to include them. But because of all the listed reasons they have been include because there are many artists most do not think of such as the editor who are deserving of such accolades, rightfully so.

Oh my god I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about in regards to Shadow of the Colossus, and YEAH. Also, what makes me so annoyed is in the PS5 store, EVERY TIME I open it, it’s sorted by featured, or like most popular. How about just by what’s new? So I dunno, smaller devs can sell their damn games! I have to change that every time, and it never stays.
Bless this show 🙏for discussing Spaceforce. From what I understand it currently has 4000 guardians and there are plans to build a Spaceforce base somewhere in Texas. Someone needs to look into this. I mean WTF do 4000 guardians do all day?
I think it's going to be built in Alabama. And apparently the entire Colorado delegation - including Lauren Boebert - wants tRump to be investigated for moving it from CO to AL.
Ostensibly the Space Force exists to protect our assets in space -- namely satellites -- which was already under the purview of the Air Force. In reality it's an excuse to increase military spending.
I spend most days pretending Jon Lovett is my brother and we go to the beach and talk total nonsense for hours. Cape Town, South Africa.

I have Katharine Hepburn’s brownie recipe. It ran in a woman’s magazine in the 1980s or 90s. You had to handwrite the recipes, or drive to the library or Kinko’s and pay for a copy.
Er...Call My Agent (in Paris) is four zillion times better than Emily in Paris plus it has the likes of Binoche, Gainsbourg, Belucci and other French stars. It's hilarious and moving and it's crazy that Lovett isn't bigging this programme up! Best comedy since Schitts Creek.

Incorrect. Almost all of the budget associated with the Space Force was already being spent on a command within the Air Force, called Space Command. It's where the logo came from; it's where the term "Guardian" came from. In any conflict, the one with the high ground wins, and Low Earth Orbit is the high ground. Don't you want to have an advantage over the obvious authoritarians in Russia and China?
I'd pay cash money to see Jake Paul get knocked senseless. Or any of these "why are they famous?" white boys. Is Mike Tyson still available?

I feel like I've heard Lovett talk about his 33 out of 36 Oreos problem about 14 times now and I feel bad for him. WE HAVE ALL OVERDOSED ON OREOS AT LEAST ONCE DURING THE PANDEMIC. It's okay. And as long as you don't eat the WHOLE pack, it's also okay.

Hard disagree on Hamilton - this version was filmed and edited specifically for the movie production. It is much better than most of the movies and TV shows I've seen in the last 5 years. I'm here for Hamilton! I think it should be Oscar nominated!

I have the recipe!
1 stick of butter, 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 flour 1/4 tsp salt. Melt butter and sugar, take off heat and add other ingredients. 325 degrees for 40 minutes. Amazing! Got it in the 80's from my grandmother who was nowhere near Katherine Hepburn.

That is the exact same uniform as the Air Force....which kinda gets the question, why does the Space Force exist? They still fall under the budget and command of the Air Force.

Ira's right about "Hamilton" not deserving an award as a movie and I LOVED the musical. If it gets nominated for an Oscar than EGOTs will be so much easier to win. Just do a live version of a Tony award winning show on television and grab that Emmy nomination. Record that live version in a theatrical way and release it to cinemas (as Disney had planned to) and you got your Oscars. And simultaneously put that recorded version out on Spotify (maybe add in some remixes) and you got your Grammy. BAM! Suddenly everyone will be pulling in EGOTs.
Space Force is actually an important strategic front. It is ridiculously easy to destroy satellites, crippling the space infrastructure would cripple the ground forces negating any advantage the US armies have...

Lovett brings up a good point here too, there is kind of an established 'zone' each branch operates in. However, in space....whose to say that has to be air force? or navy? and what about combat...space marines?
By making a "space" branch....everything space related can be put in one place. It's not that crazy an idea. ANd there is a need to defend our assest orbiting earth. Our satelites can be hacked/damged/destroyed etc. and there is so much stuff up there...what if someone has sent a bomb or lazer up into space sitting in a satellite. whose job is it to monitor that?
Also, by being it's own 'branch' it can partner with private industry and NASA better, than if it were to be split up among all the other branches.

I don't buy Oreos often, for obvious reasons, I'll eat them all. I love funky flavor things but haven't tried many of theirs even. I don't know why I was intrigued by the Gaga Oreos, they are just vanilla, not even funky, but they had a ton at my grocery the other day, I also had a coupon woo hoo, so I got a package. They are delicious, I've never had the vanilla ones. Sorry all the peeps I hear online who are going nuts & can't find them.

May I suggest you substitute your occasional Nabisco Oreo purchase with Newman's O's which continues to be an American-based manufacturing company whose profits are donated to multiple American charities? (Oreo's moved its manufacturing ventures to Mexico in 2016; no longer American - just sucking up American ca-ching change.)

Eh, not into the whole space force rant. All those same arguments were used on the Air Force before and after it’s creation. Don’t disagree on the names, uniforms, and asinine titles. Functionally the space force, even writing it makes me feel silly, can function now as a planning and defense planning. Basically put it in a closet for twenty years until we’ve got an elevator or other cheap way out of the gravity well. But it will be needed.
