I loved this little girl back in the '70's and she is still adorable today!!! Thanks, Maymay!!! I may get addicted!!!
Brought back memories..I retired from Viking sewing gallery. I taught quilting classes, and we did a wall hanging of Sunbonnet Sue in the 12 seasons. Each square had buttons or print for that month. Then did Fisherman Fred, her partner. Was alot of fun. Now in paper!! Have to make some. Thanks for Sharing. Always fun watching what you come up with..
I love this! I have a Sunbonnet Sue quilt - the squares were made by my grandmother but she never finished the quilt. Years after she had passed on my mother assembled the squares but her health got bad & she was unable to quilt it. So a couple of years ago my good friend who makes amazing quilts quilted it for me. It’s the most beautiful thing because so many people I love had a part in it!!
Super adorable! She reminds me of Holly Hobbie!
My Grandmother made Sunbonnet Sue quilts for each of our daughters when they were babies. They are now 50 and 45, and they still have their quilts. Great memories!
That's awesome. My grandma and great-grandma were crocheters. I'm your daughter's agw, and still have afghans made by both women for me as a child. Myy grandma also gave me one that she made years before I was born. I still have all of them and use them. It was heartwarming to see your daughters still have their quilts from their great-grandmother. Mine passed when I was 6, I do still have a few memories of her.
My mama made a Sunbonnet Sue baby quilt to give my daughter for her hope chest for when she has a baby. My mom died a little over a year ago, but I have that quilt safely tucked away in case one day we are blessed to be able to use it... 💕

Love this, I made one of these quilts. I pieced it and my grandmother quilted it. Loved watching her quilt, the way she just inserted her needle and used her hand underneath to feel for needle to weave it in and out to do all the stitches was amazing.. Thank you for showing us this♥️♥️
These are precious! I've done alot of quilting over my lifetime, but never made one of these. Now I can make one in card format and be happy with that! I'm sure I'll make more than one! How cute it would be to make one of these to match a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that you give to someone!
Maymay, I love this quilt card. I have a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that my Great Grandmother quilted. She made it out of whatever scraps she had. I love it. 😊
Love Sunbonnet Sue! These are adorable.
This brings back so many wonderful memories! My grandma made 9 fabric Sunbonnet Sue quilt pieces, but she passed before she got the actual quilt completed. A family friend got them and made a quilt and gave it to me. I'll always cherish it.
Maymay, thank you for sharing! I love this!!❤
Maymay, this is what you are so brilliant at; creating something from just bits of paper. Oh, and also designing and figuring out boxes and paper holders etc. I love these types of things. I especially love the cow print cards with how you did her dress.
My grandma made me a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt, and she put an old navy blanket of my grandfathers inside. It was pink and green with different prints. The only difference was that her hand was forward like praying hands, sticking out to the right, in front. I love all the cards and will be using up some scraps! Thanks for sharing!
I ordered all 3 of these punches so I could make her..she's sooo Flippin cute!!!!
I didn't have Sun Bonnet Sue (no quilters in my family), but I was a Holly Hobbie nut as a child and this reminds me so much of that warm charm from my childhood.
I love the papers you chose- the blue and floral work so well together. I'm going to have to make some of these, they're adorable and so charming! Thanks for the video!
I need to lead a class in our senior community. I'm planning a card set in a gift bag. I think you just gave me the card design. I'll be sure to send them all your way! Thanks, MayMay!
This is such a clever idea. I love all of the samples. I can't pick a favorite at all 😊

Love the first card! All are adorable
I make cards for children’s donations and I think it’s great for them, also to make with my 7 years old granddaughter. I don’t see enough children ideas, so this I appreciate. T4s

I think I will make her bonnet all the same color. Back in the late 70’s I made a lot of crochet sunbonnet Sue and Sam potholders. I need to see if I still have those patterns. 🙂
Ooooo! I'd love that pattern!
Sounds really nice. ❤

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have this pattern on a quilt my grandmother made me when I graduated FIFTY years ago. It's tucked safe and sound in a cedar chest. With me having no children, I often wonder what will become of my "girl" quilt. It's hand stitched; Granny didn't own a sewing machine.
Wow! That is a treasure!
Good way to. Use scraps
I love her! I will be making a bunch of those, soooo cute!
Those are so….cute!
Here in Canada we called her Holly Hobby lol.
Hi, we had Holly Hobbie too, loved her !!
