Thanks for your option. The idea with a cutout for the KK control unit is excellent, but I would not throw away the sawn off part, but made it removable on mortise profiles so that friction dust in the grooves would not fall into the keys. Then if we push the keys, we get a regular table. I'm still thinking about my version precisely because of the comfortable height KK keys and the surface of the table. The high side on the left, where you attach the microphone, is not convenient for me, because it interferes with convenient work with the pitch wheel. Either do it on a par with KK or move the keys to the right so that the gap is about 5 centimeters.
This design is very intresting and unique. you can be proud, you sparked new ideas into my brain. i'll have to rething maybe how i want to build mine. Still rocking this setup or you made changes? Cheeers from Belgium
I have almost the exact same issue - a 76 key keyboard which I want on the desk but I also want space for the QWERTY keyboard and other controllers (nanoKontrol2, Panorama P1) and maybe my small Roland A300 Pro keyboard. I only really have one question, which is does the top board slide okay? Apart from that, I'm going ahead with your idea, so many thanks!
The wood slides ok on the other wood. You could add a veneer and/or felt to make it slide easier. That is without going to a legit bearing slider. I've purchased a heavy duty full bearing slider, but the height of the desk (or lack thereof) makes that under desk drawer for 88 keyboard a little tricky. Maybe I'll just build it, then rebuild it and change my desk height when I want to use the piano. Might as well try it and if I don't like it, take it off. How is yours coming along?
Almost wide enough for a keyboard; certainly a mouse, but it's slightly awkward reaching over the piano keys for these. It would work if you have nothing on the sides. I've considered a drawer for the Komplete, but then my desk would need to be higher...that is unless I can slide the drawer all the way to the back side of the desk when I'm not using it. Design, iterate, improve, repeat.
I love the modular design. Very unique since it also allows you to adjust the height as needed.
Thanks. The whole thing raising up with the desk is the best when you want it!

The best thing is to make it modular. I’ve rearranged mine a bunch of times and still it’s not perfect.

edit just seeing your newest uplaod :)
I like the new design better with the strut channel. It's so versatile!
That’s genius 🤩
Thanks!

it seems to me that there's enough space on Kompakt left and right to put the (maybe even wireless) keyboard and the mouse too?

I really tried to watch this, but the audio was too bass heavy (specifially the voice over) for my monitors.
Too much bass eh? Thought I'd try it out!
