This video was perfect. I found one of these for the equivalent of £1.50 in a junk electronics bin last month. Still works perfectly. I feel I understand the menu system a lot better now. I actually had no idea about the extra program modes in advanced. Thank you!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I just wanted to ask about what to do about the menu that doesn't have any of the settings popping up when I press the four buttons on the right. Do I need to insert an SD card, is that the problem?
@@mostlyvintagecameras4323 My camera is the same as yours, it even has the green bar where the settings are meant to pop up, but nothing does. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do?
Hello, Without sight of the camera its hard to say what's going on here. A quick visit to a camera shop would likley resolve the issue however. Good luck with it. MVC
Hello Artistjoh, Thank you for your comments. It did come in black as well (but I prefer the champagne gold colour personally) but it did not have a panorama mode as standard but that did come on the QD version with the databack. Kind regards MVC
@@mostlyvintagecameras4323 Strange that the user manual shows how to change date on the QD version but does not mention a panorama mode. However, if it does have Panorama lines in the viewfinder I might pick one up, because I like the look of that interface. Nikon gets a lot of criticism for its experimentation with interface designs in the 90's, (I even like the F70 fan) but I love how they were trying different approaches. It disappoints me that eventually that the more Canon-like (and "safe") interface eventually became the default. I notice that the F70 came out at the same time as the F50. Both during the F90 time, but the F50 has more in common with the F90 button push design than the F70 fan, yet it is the F70 had a much longer production run than either the F90 or F50. That suggests to me that the F70 was more popular at the time. However, the quirky designs do mean prices on these 90's Nikon models are often quite low, so I cannot complain. Curious about how much you like or dislike the F50 LCD/button design choices.

This is so helpful! I just received an N50 and it’s my first film camera. This video really helped me learn it, thank you!
Thank you so much for taking time to make this video!!
Love these videos 👍 This camera is pretty much all you'd ever need despite it being " entry level ".☺️
Just got one. Coming from a D3100. I am used to focusing manually and I don't miss the bulb thing, so yeah, this one was a good buy. 40 bucks.
i definitely needed this, thank you!
Thanks for sharing.Just got a black N50 with a Tokina 28-70mm lens 😊
Excellent overview. Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for your comment. I wonder if you are confusing this F50 with a D50 digital camera?

Love the interface. Hate the champagne color. Hopefully it also came in black. I wonder if it also had the 1990's panorama mode?
