I knew that was a Brinks truck as soon as you showed it. They are really recognizable here in the US and were pretty popular toy trucks. My brother had at least 1 in his toy box in the 90s. Also Tim's enthusiasm is contagious. love it.
I live near a Brinks facility in Boston (US), and see the trucks on the road regularly. They aren't truck builders - they use the trucks to transport money and other valuables for companies. Boston was also the location of the Brinks central facility that was robbed in the 1950s, as told in the movie The Brinks Job.
There is so much history still standing and scattered around England, it's to bad it is so far away! Thanks Simon for taking us along, I really enjoy your videos.
The old pub will be a lovely house - thankfully it hasn't been bulldozed. It was great to go ferreting about in the back garden, I wonder how many more treasures lie undiscovered in the midden? The shadow box you made for the owner is lovely and something that shows the history of the pub. Plus you have a new cat, has the old black stray moved on?
Watching history being pulled from the ground never gets old. Whoever owns this pub will end up with a gorgeous home I'm so jelly 😊 The oyster shells are nice you can put some sort of decorative enamel in the middle, and they can be used for jewelry, coins, or whatever you like. Thanks for bringing us along, I love it.
Wonderful display encasement. “Brilliant”. 😀 Beats just putting them into a bag or box or shelf. Was fun watching you all looking for bits of history. Perhaps you will revisit when the landscape is leveled?
I want to come and save all the broken pottery from the mud!!! I love wandering around places like that! My kind of treasure ❤️😍❤️ Although I was impressed with the coins too this week, but I think that's more down to your beautiful way of presenting them! Speak to you soon lovely 😘
God, how incredible would it be to have that as a house. England is the most beautiful place on earth. Bill Bryson gets it. Can someone get me a visa!? I just started the video, but I know it's going to be great. Cheers Si!
@@murder13love Greece?! No thanks mate. Nice beaches for sure, but it's like a martian landscape there. Too arid, dirty and rocky. Horrible color palate.
Great that they will renovate that beautiful old pub and give it a new life. Great idea to make the picture with the finds. Daisy is a very talkative cat lady and loves you Simon. Hi to Tim&Tim too! The meccano truck is cool and the brooch.
You're so creative, Si; that's a really meaningful, attractive and interesting gift you made for the owner of the property. I bet they were thrilled with it!
Really enjoyed watching that Simon and friends. The framed artwork at the end was inspired. What a friendly little soul Daisy is! 😻 Is she one of Nelson's mates? Thank you for sharing with us.
This brought back memories of searching the flower beds at the back of my Nans old flat in Bletchley when I was 9ish I found pottery and bits of clay pipes and my Nan would give me a bucket of water and I sit cleaning them up lol with grands old tooth brush! I can’t stop watching I need to go back to that old flats garden again as a adult and look again!!! Amazing stuff Si!
Hi!! I'm so happy that someone is turning the antique building/old pub into a house. If it was me I'd be so excited!! I really loved the antique truck. When a child was playing with it in England, over in France they were getting ready to fight the Prussians. History, I love the subject, but I'm limited in knowledge. I love when you bring up the history of things you find, including the names of a business that made a bottle or a mug from a pub, say, in 1898. It's all so cool!! Your a very gracious person with the beautiful gift that you made for your friend. What a great idea. Thanks Si for another great video and I'll see ya in the next one!!😊🐬
What a fun dig this was:) Looks like you all had a great time retrieving the pub's history. You had some nice finds and I love the display piece you made. Thanks for sharing!!!
So funny Si I thought my cat daisy had come in and was talking and then realised it was your cat. Lovely collection of coins and brooch, token, truck and loved that weight!, enjoyed sharing Thankyou and nice presentation to the owners cheers
A thoughtful gift with the photo of The Maidens' Head with mounted coins and token. The picture frame with laminated text on the frame is creative. Cool.
So interesting to find all those artifacts in waste ground behind the pub. Just shows what is just laying about to find ! Very inspiring . always enjoy watching whatever you do and the art works you create too . Thanks for sharing .
Beautiful building. Lol, oldest find. Nice little bottle. That lamp is fantastic even if a replica. Lovely inkwell. That site has so many treasures. Lovely little tobacco lid. I thought the weight was a bell at first. The shadow box is beautiful. Good job 👍
It is really amazing what you can find around those old places. Lots of coins to be found. Good treasure hunting there. Daisy looks to be such a loving sweety. A lovely old pub with some neat history there. Thanks Simon.
I live right on the coast of North Carolina. Evidently, my subdivision used to be a place for people to come and have an outdoor oyster roast. There are many piles of shells both on the edge of the waterway and back in the woods. Our tradition in my house is that oyster shells must go back in the water from whence they came. Love me some oysters!

Great video. What a wonderland to search! Loved the kids/locks tip! I'm plumbing for 'biscuit barrel lid' for that super handle. ;) That broach was looovely. My Grandfather was a sheet metal worker, kept at home in WW2 due to his vital skills making military vehicles etc. My ma still has a pressed brass fireplace cover he made which the broach very much reminded me of. :)
Thank you for another interesting video. The finished product of frame, coins etc was beautifully done. When Daisy smooched up to you our Gracie did the same. She's purring up a storm.
Every Sunday I eagerly await your videos. So much fun to watch you and the cast of characters that accompany you on your adventures. The pub is a treasure! Learn a lot of English history from you that we Americans never learned in school. Thanks Simon.
Simon, I live on The Treasure Coast of South Florida. Is is called The Treasure Coast because of so many ships from the 1500 to 1800's were lost off our coast during hurricanes.
