  • Today I'm changing the fuel pump in my lifted 1991 chevy suburban 2500! Its a bit easier than a normal truck because its lifted off the ground so high, which gives the ability to sit upright under it.

First thing i did when i bought my 91 suburban 20 years ago to use on many trips, was to take up the rear carpet and put me a trap door right above the fuel pump. Also carried a pump with me.

Just food for thought. Clearly you won’t be changing fuel pumps all to often on it (We both Hope) but for lots of things on a beast like that, get yourself a motorcycle jack for about $80. That and a sheet of plywood make lots of virtual overhead tasks easier.
I was happy to have one when changing mine in my Expedition not once but twice...

Agreed. I use a harbor freight transmission jack. Cheap and flat and works perfect.
