After watching this game , now I can better understand why the Chiefs didn't worry about letting Tyreek Hill go. Patrick Mahomes in his first career start played with the second string and literally made Albert Wilson look like an All Pro Wide Receiver. If you think about it, this game here is basically how this whole season went even in the playoffs and Superbowl. Everyone was wondering how well will Patrick Mahomes play without Tyreek Hill. All of our WRs besides Hardman were new to the offense. We didn't have a #1WR or Deep Threat and still won the Superbowl. It seemed like every game the Chiefs played this season was a battle that came down to the wire. We won some ugly games this year. Beside Travis Kelce nothing came easy for the Chiefs on offense, and each week their was sombody different stepping up on offense. I got to take my hats off to the Chiefs, especially to all the Rookies and the new guys like JuJu and MVS. I like how they all came together like a bunch of professionals and left everything out on the Football field. They didn't have the most talented team but the leadership from Patrick Mahomes on offense and Chris Jones on the defensive side of the ball was remarkable. We've already been to 3 Superbowls, Won 2 of the 3, 5 AFC Championships, and through all of this, The Best Has Yet To Come! Almost everyone of them so-called experts said that this season, is suspose to be a rebuilding year for the Kansas City Chief's, and if this is what a rebuilding year looks like, the next 5yrs is going to make the last five years look like nothing.
Albert Wilson was legit on the chiefs. WAAAY better than Bowe. Wilson caught the ball in bounds and didn't jump every time the ball came at him like bowe did. (well he jumped if he had to... He was pretty small.) And he probably had better hands than Hill.
ItzReal you need some good friends man. Someone you can talk football with. boy, was that unnecessary!!! You really produced an 18-page response to no questions being asked🎉🎉. I guess good job on the response
I was blown away by the way he played in this game. Knew he'd be great. Btw you can see the wheels spinning in Von Miller's head. Game recognizing game. He knew what was coming.
I was living in Asia when this game was played, and I remember telling my KC friends that they may have the second coming of Elway on their hands. I guess he turned out pretty good.
This is how it was when I was watching him at Texas Tech. Played with a bunch of yahoos (other than Grant). He would pass to 7 different receivers a game and put up 500 yards. Everyone at Tech saw this coming, he was always so fun to watch!
One of the great questions, what if Mahomes starts in the divisional round after this game, with the full starting offense ? I don't think the league would have known what hit them.
This has crossed my mind on more than a few occasions. I don’t know that they’d win the Super Bowl, but they almost certainly would’ve won that Steelers game.
This was Andy Reid's biggest mistake. Mahomes, Hunt, Kelce, and Hill could've won the Superbowl if he would have played Pat over Alex after this game. No one had yet to have an answer for him because they hadn't seen him yet. The entire time Pat was on the sideline and Alex was blowing yet another playoff game I was Hulk level mad at Andy for wasting 15 when it was beyond obvious he was light-years ahead of Alex Smith. What a waste.
I think they could of beat the Titans if they at some point turned to him , all they needed was a FG in the second half to win , they lead 21-3 at the half and were shut out in the second half.
I saw this game and the information I absorbed out of it made me think we had a bright future and laughed at myself for thinking if the Chiefs as my my my team a Cowboy fan of so many years had become a distant memory I couldn’t wait to see how our future would come out now in retrospective light the magic of Patrick Mahomes caused a cowboys fan jump ship after all those years my friends were in shock and in observing this change in me seemed to cause them to watch the Chiefs under Mahomes a possibility for the first time in all those years How about those CHIEFS lol
I had forgotten the that KC rested many of their staters in this game. Mahomes made some rookie mistakes, but showed a lot of talent. The defensive TD didn't hurt either.
Right? He made Albert Wilson look like a world beater with 146 yards receiving that day. I bet it earned Wilson an extra million or two when he went to Miami.
That Denver offsides penalty on the last Chief's drive was definitely because Mahomes had mostly owned that defense all day and they knew, even then, that they had to play at a different level to stop him.
So one of the best... hmmm so who do you think is on par with him them? The dude has played just 5 or so seasons, yet has led his team to two SB's, has 2 MVP's, 2 5000+ yard seasons, oh and done a Brady and carried an offence that contained one world-beating tight end, but mediocre bunch of WR;s and a so, so defence. So who do you have in mind? I'm waiting - its my day off, so I got all day....
When a team has a great QB - kicker combo like Mahomes and Butker, they are destined for greatness. Think about Montana- Wersching in the 80's. So many KC games have been won when Mahomes pulls off a great play or two to get within the range of Butker's incredible no-miss foot.
I think I liked the strip from Tyreek Hill and then the pitch and touchdown better than the super bowl tyreke should have stayed in Kansas City. What happened to the good old days when teams cared more about winning then making the most ridiculous amount of money to play something they enjoy it's bullshit how much professional players in all sports make.
Mahomes made Albert Wilson look so good... Miami picked him up in free agency in 2018 with a three-year, $24 million contract that included $14.45 million guaranteed. They regretted that.
At 1:15:18 the guy in the broadcast booth says that Alex Smith had his best season that year & would still be the Chiefs QB1 in 2018. He missed that one. Lol 😂 At 2:07:45 we see why Mahomes was going to be the man.
I am a hard-core K.C. fan, but, #87 Taylor, from Denver, just showed me the kind of football, I was taught to play, when I was young.
