I’ve used a few different watch apps for my iPhone. Took some getting used to. I’ve always stated…without a range finder a GPS is only giving you part of the equation. Purely speaking from a causal golfer - i can live with just guessing or my Apple Watch. However, if you want to make progress - got to get rangefinder with gps! Great review team!

I already own an Apple Watch, and it's my preferred wearable on the course. If ShotScope could allow for a Watch App to run with the new H3/Pro LX+ that would be ideal.

I use a garmin g80 right now. I have tried using a cheaper laser range finder but I don't have a steady hand and wear glasses so it always took to long to shoot something. So I am curious about picking one of these up and trying it

Current Arccos user here. I have to say, with the membership fee they are charging I could buy a new h4 every year. Has me thinking of making the switch. I do wear an Apple watch so that doesn't bother me, but I use the link with Arccos which would be like wearing the H4 on my belt.
My biggest dislike I see here, is the use of Shotscope H4 on course. I love having the app open on my phone for Arccos and the ability to check my shots after each hole, make sure it's right as I go. With putts, I like that I can easily adjust a putt off the green to be labeled as a "chip" with my putter. Is that an option on Shotscope do you know? Having the H4 be a wearable and work like one recognizing the club without the need to tap the h4 would be nice, but not a deal breaker. I have seen where the watch gets some negative reviews for missing shots, so I suppose tapping it can help fix that issue. Again, this is where having the app up and being used as your scorecard and all would be handy to see that it got the shots right, right in that moment.
Really thinking of making the switch for the 23-24 golf season.

I just bought and setup the Pro LX+. I walk and carry every round. Have been using a Golf Buddy GPS for over 15 years. This is my first laser rangefinder but I wanted the GPS hazard info and front/mid/back distances to confirm my laser reads. This is the perfect combo. I will hang the H4 on my bag and will keep the LX+ in a bag pocket

Hi guys. I have just bought this and used it on the course for the first time ... biggest question that I genuinely cannot find a video on is, 'how does the putter and finishing the hole work ... Say I am on the green, 20 yards away. I tag the putter to the H4 and it then assumes I putt. Q. I I miss from 20 yards and am 6 yards short or long, do I tag the putter on the H4 again or do I wait until I have finished the hole ... the finishing the hole is also confusing to me. When I have putted into the cup, do I then press pick up or the arrow top right ... this is very confusing and so much so that when I checked my round afterwards in the clubhouse, almost all my putts were either missing or wrong. Please help! P.S. great vid as usual

In addition to those who don't want to wear a watch, the V3 doesn't fit everyone (me!) and there are no alternative bands in a larger size. This H4 is exactly what I wanted, and this review really helped seal the deal. Thanks!

I’ve had Arcoss since 2017 so I was grandfathered no subscription required until early last year when I sold all the tags and the link. It was too cumbersome, many shots were not picked up especially putts and the tags were too bulky compared to ShotScope and the swing weight were thrown off by 2 points consistently
I wound buying a slightly used Bushnell hybrid GPS/laser and it works great. I get two rounds out of the charge for the GPS and the laser works off battery
I don’t like to wear a watch and I’ve read that the watch misses some shots also so I have been waiting for something like the H4 to come out and now I’m sold.
Going to keep my Bushnell hybrid GPS/Laser and basically use it as laser and have the H4 clipped to my belt. Best of both worlds for me.
Thanks for posting this video !

I own a V3, I hate it when it misses shots, drives me crazy b/c I’m getting old and sometime forget some shots and am left with a gap or guess! Does the tap to H4 eliminate missed shots? If so, buying this now been waiting for these techs and performance tracking to marry. Don’t love wearing a watch, especially if it misses shots, if it got all of them, I’d deal with it but this drives me nuts.

I want to thank you guys for this video. I’ve been struggling to keep track of stats and had a crappy range finder too. For a few months before you dropped this video I’ve been looking for a solution and this video brought me to your channel! For my birthday my GF and I split the cost and got the pro lx+, getting that Bang for buck. So excited to finally feel a bit more legit and get better

Played golf with a guy at bandon who has been tracking every shot / his version of strokes gained manually for 40 years. He marks the heck out of his score cards and elaborate excel files etc. Wuite the undertaking but very impressive. I have been looking at less tech version which led me to this.
    A few questions for you.
My understanding is that with the H4 you don't need a phone?
If you were to throw this thing in your pocket, would it ever register incorrectly when the butt of the club was next said pocket? How close does it have to get to register?
With this being a year old, any idea if the H5 or whatever next iteration will be releasing in the near future?
    Thanks!

I have pro lx+and H4. The yardage w the H4 is always on point and very accurate so I don't have to use pro lx very often on a 18 hole round.

How does the H4 work with putting? Can you tap it each time you take a putt? I love my shotscope, but sometimes when I'm putting it would be nice to not have a watch on.

This video ended up pushing me to finally buy a V3. I much prefer using a watch than that little guy there. I. The future I might invest in a rangefinder, and it’ll likely be between the shotscope earlier model and the precision pro. As it stands, I’m just looking forward to learning my stats!
    Really informative video, guys.

I have a V3, and I really like it. But, of course, I have a few extra and a few missed shots, almost always my fault, but it happens. I don't check to see if a club is recognized, as I am trying to golf, not play watch. A few years ago I had Game Golf Live, and I got pretty good at tagging every shot, and I liked the way that worked. For various reasons, GG isn't an option anymore. So I am thinking of getting an H4, and wearing it on my belt for tagging, and keeping the V3 on my wrist for GPS only (I might experiment with both tracking, but I think the confusion of two accounts would be a mess!) Points for ShotScope for customer service, and dynamic green mapping, as well. Do you guys have a review of the H4 on the course? (Of course I will now search for one.)

  • @MrBennyb11
    @MrBennyb11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

if you attach it to your belt the yardages will be upside down, does it rotate the info or can you attach the clip two ways?

Love Shotscope and have the V3 right now and after seeing this I'm thinking about upgrading to the Prolx+ package. My one and only issue with Shotscope is that their putter tag does fit into my superstroke counter balanced putter grip. Question on the prolx+, do you need to still tap the tag on the rangefinder in order for it to register? The only reason that might turn me off is because Im not going to bring a rangefinder greenside if I'm just off the green.

    • @Golficity
      @Golficity  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Certainly a good question. The handheld H4 is what does all the GPS "shot tagging" so you will need to bring it onto the green with you for things like "Pin Collect" which logs the pin position. In those cases, you'll probably want to put the device in your pocket while putting. Luckily it easily detaches from the rangefinder.

Just got my H4 and used it for a round and nothing recorded. Have now read you have to tap the club tag to the H4 before every shot? This is a bit of a ball ache and ideally I want it automated (and can get a second hand set of Garmin sensors for my S62 for the same price)

That V4 is excectly what I've been looking/waiting for as I have a V2 watch that I just tie to the bag as I don't like wearing a watch when playing, an as such ain't getting the full benefits of the watch, no tracking info. Great release ⛳

Still think I would personally choose the Precision Pro R1 rangefinder over this just because I would not be using the stat tracking. Would be cool to see a comparison of the two considering you guys reviewed the Precision Pro previously. Keep up the great work love the content.

I'd love to see Shot Scope come out with an app like Precision Pro and maybe give club recs from the watch , app or range finder. Sort of "caddie-like."

So what does the slope mean when it show the numbers? Like example: flag is 170 and slope is 174. Who far and where do I hit?

Actual distance 170, but you're uphill and it's adding 4 yards for the uphill slope. Play 174.

The only downside to the h4 is it is slightly more inconvenient that you have to pull it from your pocket or the range finder and take it to the flag and register pin position . They should have made a push button tag for the putter tag so you just clicked it when your at the flag . I really want this device but ad love to leave it attached to the range finder so ad basically need to have the range finder in my pocket all the time
