  • This hotel on the western shores of Palm Jumeirah's central trunk opened in 2016, as the centerpiece of a larger beachfront resort and residential development called Oceana by Dubai-based property developer Seven Tides, which consisted of two additional residential towers in addition to the hotel. It is the first international outpost of the namesake boutique hotel in London's Mayfair district that has also been owned by Seven Tides since 2006. In 2019, management of the hotel was transferred to Barceló Hotel Group, a Spanish hotel management company, and incorporated into its five-star portfolio of Royal Hideaway Hotels.
The hotel consisted of two 20-floor towers: a southern tower with 279 transient hotel rooms and a northern tower with 287 serviced apartments. Both towers were connected on the first five floors and on the 14th and 15th floors, and also shared a three-level underground parking garage. The hotel building had a two-story lobby at the base with a pair of curved staircases and a giant chandelier. Great British Restaurant, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant concept imported from the home location in London, was on the ground floor, while the mezzanine featured the DUKES Bar (also imported from the London location), a TONI&GUY hair salon, and a business center. The first floor had several meeting rooms, while the hotel's management offices were on the second floor. The third floor had two lounges, with one being a Champagne and Tea Lounge serving British afternoon tea, and the other being a Cigar and Whisky Lounge, reminiscent of those found in London's private clubs. The 14th-floor sky bridge had an indoor pool and gymnasium, while an outpost of Khyber, a well-known Indian restaurant from Mumbai, could be found on the 15th floor of the hotel tower. Accommodations were located on floors 4-14 and 16-17 of the hotel tower, and on floors 1-17 of the serviced apartments tower. A mechanical mezzanine, numbered in elevators as "T2," was located between floors 15 and 16 of both towers. A pool deck with a lazy river ride and an outdoor infinity pool overlooking the sea, as well as the private beach shared with the residential towers next door, could be accessed via the ground floor.
Each tower had four passenger and two service elevators, with all of them being MRL versions of Schindler's 5400AP model. All of the passenger elevators were equipped with PORT. Among those, the set of passenger elevators inside the hotel tower is featured in this video. They had D-Line buttons for door control and alarm functions, as well as Vander indicators with green LED. Their cabs were decked out in an ornate, classical style, featuring walls finished with varnished mahogany wood and gold-tinted glass and marble flooring, which went well with the hotel's British theming. Among the four elevators, only one served floors 16-17 as well as the mechanical mezzanine numbered "T2," which apparently could be selected by entering a code on the PORT terminal, while the other three only served up to the 15th floor. Aside from the rather small size of the cabs, they were also quite slow for serving more than 20 floors, making them prone to overcrowding during peak hours. The elevators within the serviced apartments tower were not filmed due to lack of time and them being identical with these ones.
