@@N64GC depends on where you're coming from - I moved from rural Wyoming to about an hour from Denver, so it was nice to be closer to a Total Wine - they generally have the best selection and prices. However, for more niche stuff Hazel's Beverage World in Boulder is good! If you like cider, definitely check out Stem Ciders in RiNo. If you like beer, for bigger craft Odell has a taproom in Denver and New Belgium is worth a trip up to Fort Collins but more niche ones like Cerebral Brewing and TRVE Brewing in Denver, Odd13 in Lafayette and Weldwerks in Greeley are all worth swinging by!
Appreciate it!! My take is that once the show's popularity had cooled off a bit the algorithm kind of killed the momentum on additional Nuka-Cola videos and I'm not very good about making short form content (I know it grows the audience, but I care way more about making regular videos like this). I needed a break anyways to do some real deep dives on Nuka-Cola cocktails in the games, so I suppose it works out - we'll be back in the Wasteland this fall sometime!
Personally, I couldn't find full Anise stars until a few years after I first made the Nuka-Cola. Instead, I would use Anise Seeds in a similar amount. I find them to have a lighter flavor than the full star.
Lol, I think this is the first time one of my comments has ever been referenced in a video. Neat! I'll defer to the original author then, next batch I make will be with the browning sauce, we'll see how it compares. Another thing I've been wondering is if the original soda bought out to make Nuka-Cherry, Merle's Very Cherry Soda, was based on Cheerwine? We know that most of the soft drinks in Fallout are based on real brands; Nuka-Cola=Coca-Cola, Sunset Sarsaparilla=Sioux City Sarsaparilla, Vim!=Moxie!, etc. Cheerwine is a (delicious!) cherry soda made in South Carolina, and widely available in the Southern Unites States, and a popular use for it is to mix it with Coca-Cola, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.
I had Cheerwine when I was in NC a couple years ago! Makes me want to pick up some more... I'm already planning on comparing Moxie to the VIm! drinks in the future, so I might just have to find it again (much like Moxie though, pretty hard to get in CO).
@@quenchquestdrinks Ugh, tell me about it! I live in New England, you can't get Cheerwine _anywhere_ nearby, except for once in a blue moon at Cracker Barrel. If I wanted to order a case, shipping is like $70!
The very idea that there exists in lore a drink so sugar it crystallized is so disgusting. Like I wanna try it, but why?
I know right 💀I think I'm going to have to try to make one where you add vanilla or unflavored pop rocks right before consuming...
@@quenchquestdrinks that might not be bad. I'm moving to Denver, do you recommend any brew shops?

That would be another way to dial back on the licorice flavor...
