Rodanthe Erosion Public Meeting - January 18, 2023

Dare County hosted a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, to provide information and facilitate a discussion with residents and property owners in the village of Rodanthe regarding their concerns with the issue of erosion that has affected the Hatteras Island community.
Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Woodard opened the meeting, which included an in-depth presentation from Dare County Manager/Attorney Bobby Outten that included an overview of the logistics and funding models that have made previous beach nourishment projects possible in Dare County. The presentation also discussed the many challenges that are faced when it comes to funding and prioritizing newly established beach nourishment projects.
