Good to find information on the Picts. I have a large percentage of Scots heritage. Seems a lot of info on the Picts seems to be negative.

St Columb went to iona to build the first church.. he went there because he was looking for the tower of Babel.. he is the guy that called these dudes the picts..
But looking at france, we see a group also called the picts that were politically persecuted and ran away north.. from the moment they fled, the word pict was denigrated..
I'm not saying the picts from france are those people but I'm pretty sure that they are the reason these guys were called picts..

@@hychap st columba was a 130 years after st ninian who brought chritianity to scotland. the earliest church inscotland is in whithorn. the tower of babel is a mythical tale written by irish monks. you obviously have,nt read the tale. there are different theories on st columba he fled ireland to iona (iona has greek origins) as he was accused of a misdemeanor. he supposedly exiled himself there. then another tale is that he and 12 monks went there to spread christanity in scotland. well, as i wrote he was a 130 years too late with that. st.patrick/columa/ ninian are all of dubious origins. the first people to enter scotland most likely came from europe. look up the orkney vole. no other type of that species has been found anywhere else in britain or ireland. their closest dna is belgium and i think that,s where the berber peoples lived. you need to do some indepth research. the scotti is a made up tale to give ireland an identity written in the 12/15 oos by irish monks.cinealeoghain.com/news/2020/02/who-were-the-milesians then look up ww.knowth.com/celtic.htm there is a lot more

@@cymro6537Yes, the Britons , or Cymry (Welsh) would have spoken the same language as the Picts. There are so many Welsh placename in Scotland. Aberdeen. Lanark. Cumnock. Glasgow. Edinburgh. All are of Old Welsh origin and can be translated word for word
The Romans referred to the Tribe (s) as Picts, which meant painted people. It was not what they called themselves. And the hostility shown and raids into Romano British Kingdoms of Rhedeg , Alt Clut and Y Gododdin were because those Kingdoms had largely adopted Roman ways where the Picts maintained their iron age culture thanks to the mountainous terrain of what is now Scotland.

The videos on the original population of Scottland seem to have forgoten the fact that Scotland was inhabitated by Ligurians, the primitive, preindoeuropean population on the whole of Europa since the end of the last glaciation up to now.Numerous toponyms attest a reign of ALBA in Scottland -, cited by Roman historians , a name from which the name of Britain ALBION derives. One of the biological markers of the Ligurs ( Λιγυες) is the A Rhesus negative blood group which is a dominant trait.
So if a modern Scot has this blood group his ancestry could with high probability be ligurian.
The modern Liguri are the only descendants of the vast ligurian group of ethnies to have conserved their general ethnic name.
