We learnt in Kenyan primary school history about the kings who resisted the colonialists like the Ashanti king(Ashanti hene) with their golden stool and throne in Kumasi, King Oseititu ,Koffi Karikari,Kwaku Dual 1 and their wars with Fante people who collaborated with the British.Happy Birthday 🎈🎉@Trudy.

Great to hear. Please approximately when was this. Just so you know the name of the kingdom is Asante, not Ashanti. The latter is the British mispronounciation. I don't blame you as one region in Ghana should be named the Asante region, but is not. This will have to change.
Yes Trudy, Kumasi is the capital of the Asante region. I think your dad maybe thinking of the club called Asante Kotoko. It is called Kotoko for short. Kotoko is the word for Porcupine.
@phylliskumi4355 It is the capital of Asante Kingdom, which stretches to Ahafo, parts of Bono, Western, Central, and Oti Regions. It was the official capital of the Ashanti Region (the has been mispronounciations all over the world, Ewe, for example).

The city is a subnational monarch of Ghana 🇬🇭 which stretches half of Ghana through to ivory Coast. It is based on well known African football club is Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Miss Trudy just use bags gardening to plant your veggies it will be easier to manage also because of the soil there it doesn't look so fertile, looks like there's alot of sand. Also because of space,a bag can hold more plant than the ground. Just check those bag farming in Kenya. You can purchase those bags next time you travel back.

Kales or leaf cabbages looks closer to wild cabbages the only difference is that central leaves don't form a 'head' they are green or purple. The English name for sukuma, is collard greens.
