Twin Cities and Western Saint Paul Turn -Stalled Train, and Roaring Locomotives-

  • The Twin Cities and Western Railroad has a fleet of four axel EMD power, many of which are non turbo'd GP38-2s. These locomotives sound great under load, and we'll see a train with three of them SCREAMING in run eight. Additionally, a trio of geeps will be seen bringing up a stalled train.
In this video, we'll see two trains; the first being a trio of geeps storming the BNSF Midway Sub at Jackson St. They were giving it all they had, and were roaring up the stiff grade with ease! The second train is an interesting one; due to a combination of spring rains, a heavy rain, and a stiff grade, it stalled! We'll see the TCWR lug half a train up hill, set it out, and go back for the rest of it. The video ends as the train lugs the second half of the stalled train up Shortline Hill, as the rain starts to pickup again.

Couldn't agree more! I hope they keep using those geeps for MANY years; its adds something fun to try and get while trackside.

It truly is, and imagine what it would have been like back in the Milwaukee Road days AND when the Hiawathas ran on it.

I appreciate, and thank you, for the kind words! This railroad runs seven days a week, but the jobs in this video usually only run six days weekly, Monday - Saturday.

I’ve been trying to figure out what happened to RBMN 1503 and 1504. If you know anything about them, please let me know. Thank you.

People in the Midwest still use the term “turn” ? It is so dated.

This is what the railroad has named it; each railroad gives their various assignments unique name. Thanks for watching!
