Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band and my music background kinda roots itself in the late 70s early 80s metal scene so I have just totally fallen in love with A7X. The entire City of Evil album is a trip, some of the best solos, drum solos, lyrics, and vocal feats of this band’s career can be found there. You’d like any track from that record.

The Rev is the reason why I want to play the drumvs kme day, did in middleschool but had to give it up (my town sucks). They're one of the few that actually sounds amazing live. Also if they notice something they don't like (someone getting hurt, security being butts, ECT) they'll stop the show and call it out. Definitely hear the Pantera influence, which is amazing too. Probably my favorite band.

The change of key happened by mistake at the end of the song if I remember correctly, they didn't know how they wanted to end the song, but once they heard it mixed they loved it.
The story is they decided that they didn't have a song that changes key and every other band had one, so they decided to change key. The actual theory behind is really weird. The actual interval is not a half step and not orthodox. papa gates asked them how they came up with it and syn said it was because that was the same key as the outro. look at their breakdown of the song
