I've got identical twin boys who are almost 6, and I feel like Ouran really did represent quite well this bond and frustration business that can happen. My boys are so so close (and very different in personality, which should go without saying but like, some people don't seem to realize this?), and love spending time together, and even get a kick out of pretending to be each other sometimes, but when they weren't pretending and somebody gets it wrong (especially a family member, which does happen now and then!), it *really* bothers them. Sometimes it's hard to tell because they won't say anything, but you can see it on their faces. Other times they will go 0 to 60 and outright stomp their feet and shout, "I'm not [him], I'm [me]!!!" So like... the identical twin struggle is real, man -_-

I am a Gergen always twin and don’t look exactly like my twin but people get us mixed up but we have a very close bond
I was always able to tell my cousins apart. They’re identical twin girls. So I don’t understand this not being able to tell twins apart stuff. Well, I’d probably make a mistake with people I didn’t know or know well, but with twins I do know well, I’ve never made a mistake. I know my aunt and uncle used to look at me like I was crazy sometimes because I kept saying their faces looked different or their eyes were slightly different. I swear that’s how I told them apart though. Their voices were different too. Their personalities as well. They do look the same because they’re identical twins, but there were slight differences I still noticed even when they were babies.
@@FullmoonPhantom-dn2sr Yeah it's this way with us as well! Of course the differences in personality are obvious to people that know them, but their voices are clearly different, even their faces have the small differences, like you said. It's harder to tell in their baby pictures, but even then if one of them is making a particular expression, it becomes easier. But if they're farther away (there's a lot of poor vision in my family) and not speaking or facing toward you, it's easier to make a mistake :)

It's so weird hearing this episode in Japanese. I watched Ouran in the English dub and the twins have two distinctive voices. They are voiced by two different people. I could tell which twin was speaking by their voice.
It sounds like in the Japanese version, they just have one person voicing both twins, which makes it even harder to tell them apart.
This was still very entertaining seeing your reactions.

@@novemberninth4392 Yeah, but they have similar voices, it's just that one of the voices is deeper. In English dub, Kaoru is voiced by Greg Ayres, who has kind of a high pitched husky voice, and then Hikaru is voiced by Todd Haberkorn, who has a semi-normal voice, and that's why they sound so different.
@@zuzu6864 Their voices aren't similar actually, Kaoru's voice is softer and higher than Hikaru's and you can easily tell them apart by their voices.

I also watched the dubbed version ( that's all I had available to me) and I get what you mean with not being able to tell the difference in the voices but also when they name the characters it sounds weird because they were said differently in the dubbed version

I cant always tell the twins apart by their voice actors (especially in the English Dub lol)

As much as I adore Tamaki, I've grown to love Kaoru. He's so sweet, and the Halloween episode broke my heart. Kaoru needs more love. ❤️
Kyoya is my favorite. I tend to gravitate towards the more serious/stern characters, but the episode that really solidified him as my favorite was the supermarket episode.
If it was me, watching anime with a friend, I would be kinda pissed if they stopped the video every minute or so. But with her, I actually love it! You can see how she needs to pause 'cause she doesn't want to miss a bit, but she needs to talk, to get things clear, to understand. The way she's giving her all for understanding your passion is amazing. A huge plus is the way she's really enjoying herself. Your channel came into my recommended at pure random, but I'll be sure to check more of your stuff! ^^

I'll only go over the ones I remember for sure, but:
-san: Standard Mr/Mrs/Ms. Used for the newly acquainted, the generic coworker, the stranger you ask directions from when in an unfamiliar area
-kun: informal and friendly, where in an American company the Manager might call you "kid" or "sonny" in a fond manner, in Japan they use -kun for both men and women. It is also used by classmates, friends, group members (such as sports teammates etc) and family, though predominantly male-centric in that regard; a female classmate acting as the boys' sports manager will also get this, because she's "one of the guys."
-chan: used for youngsters, both boys and girls, though it sees predominant use towards girls as boys "graduate" from cute itouto-chans/(little brothers) to preteens and teenagers, which is when -kun becomes something akin to a status symbol. Generally speaking (from what I've seen in anime and RL Japan both), being the last boy in your class to still be called -chan by parents or teachers can be embarrassing if you put too much stock into such things.
-chan (continued): whereas older boys and even some men might bristle or balk at being called "-chan", when it comes to girls there's way too much nuance regarding situation, setting, familiarity, etc to truly fit in a comment. Suffice to say "ojou-chan" would be seen as a catcall similar to "hey there pretty lady!" in most circumstances, but could instead be used by, say, a grandparent to chastise a granddaughter who is acting childish when she should know better.
-sama: while "king" is one way to look at this, it's much more accurate to say "Highly Important and/or Respected Person. To use a previous term, Ojou-sama is "Young Lady", usually said by butlers and maids to a young girl of the family they're working for, though it's also something anyone could say to any girl who the speaker considers of high standing. Note that I don't say HIGHER standing, as it's also frequently used by high ranking officials towards the daughters of their contemporaries. (Also great for a snarky "well excuuuuse me, princess!")
-hime: literally princess, and rarely used derogatively, though light teasing does occur. When not appended to a girl's name, it can be used as "hime-sama" to give it that extra formal flair.
-dono: literally [My] Lord. Very, VERY formal. "Alex-dono requests your presence" might literally translate to "My Lord Alex needs to see you," but would best be translated as "Lord Aleksandar of House Dú Grait is ready for you to intrude upon his hospitality," or something similarly formal and most likely snobbish. Only really used by Samurai or peasants, unless you're dealing with isekai anime, or RomComs of either the Shoujo or Shonen variety.
-taichou/senchou: literally captain, used to denote the leader of a group. In high schools, they're the baseball captain, the chess club captain, etc. Senchou is read as "ship's captain" while taichou is "troops' captain."
-kaichou is the "ultimate" leader. In regards to schools, the Student Council President is the Seitokaichou.
-buchou: lit. manager.
-senpai/sempai: lit. upperclassman/"one with the same job but seniority"
-kouhai: lit. underclassman/"one with the same job that I am tutoring"

I knew triplets, two of which were identical. I could tell apart, but that had slight differences in base appearance, different clothe, slight hair style differences, and I grew to know them pretty well so not quite as hard.

I love that this anime is secretly about accepting each person with all their quirks and flaws... and helping each other celebrate this life and overcome what is holding them back. ❤ it was nice to watch her get so many laughs out of it!

I absolutely love the opening and ending of this anime, like I would watch it over and over again just for the title songs
Well, I loved this new addition to the channel. Miranda, you expressions were priceless ( and considering some of the subject mater, not surprising). I can safely say I learned a lot about this anime title. Thank you Emi for teaching. I will say this anime is not me cup of tea, but that is not uprising since I am not in the target demographic. I don't consider myself a big anime fan, I do love some if it, but most all the ones I like involve, spaceships and robots (Space Battleship Yamato, Mobile Suit Gundam, Fortress Macross, Southern Cross, or Voltron). Thank you 86th floor for more great content.
Tamaki is my favorite boy in this show ( and maybe in every anime I watched). He is just that sweet, innocent and passionate.

The thing with being a twin is that you are told when you are friendless and bullied that you can't be lonely because your a twin, but just hanging out with your twin doesn't help me gain any social skills that you needed to survive in this economy.
