I love the story about your mother's reaction to a nurse asking if she wanted to place you in an institution for disabled children. I can see where you get your strength and character from. I am an institutional child abuse survivor. I know all too well how destructive and dangerous institutions are for children. I was horrified by this nurse's suggestion and relieved, yet laughing at your mother's reaction. Priceless! I bet your mother has many great stories to tell!

I know this is a rather weird thing to say "You don't come across as disabled." I hope that doesn't sound offensive. I was just so fascinated by your charisma. I think you're a very good example to show to able bodied people who have fear of contact, that disabled people are just as normal, funny and likable as everybody else. Thanks for sharing your story - I had made the assumption thatthalidamide was possibly involved so I appreciate being corrected and now know that it’s a congenital disability the source of which we don’t know. I love the fact that people who are different are creating a presence so that they can be more seen and appreciated and hopefully reduce discrimination against those who are different.

Did you receive services such as occupational therapy to help you learn to physically do things like write or cook? Or did you just naturally find ways that worked best for you? Something you haven't mentioned in the videos that I've seen so far: I'm curious what your career interests are. I can tell you are very creative person, because you like to cook and study painting with other adult students. Did you go to university? Raising a child can be a huge yet fulfilling job, and I want to recognize that as valid. You don't need a paid career to be valid! Does Belgium provide paid maternal/paternal leave so parents can afford to focus on raising their young children? I've heard that many European countries have that. Merci beaucoup pour les videos!

When you said your Mother told the nun to 'shut up' I couldn't help but laugh, I worked with a French woman who was powerful and feminine all at once. French women seem to have the will to thrive in their nature, getting on with life with little fuss, inspiring!
I was present for the birth of both my two daughters, I also had the honour of being the first to hold them, a very emotional experience. One I felt very priviledged to behold and I will always treasure for the rest of my life. I certainly couldn't hold them now as they are 33yrs & 30yrs old respectively with families of their own. You are certainly a very special person, your vitality shines thru your content and you're so natural with it. I've subscribed and recommended your chaannel to my two daughters too. Au revoir.

I was present for the birth of both my two daughters, I also had the honour of being the first to hold them, a very emotional experience. One I felt very priviledged to behold and I will always treasure for the rest of my life. I certainly couldn't hold them now as they are 33yrs & 30yrs old respectively with families of their own.
You are certainly a very special person, your vitality shines thru your content and you're so natural with it.
