I used to Race 100cc Karts at Birmingham Wheels in the mid 80’s so maybe a bit of a midlife crisis but had a spin at Tamworth on those Karts last Summer and I was so impressed.. Good video 😊
Completely different world compared to teamsport karts, I’d also say I went tamworth first then MK and the karts at Tamworth are way quicker/more aggressive than MK if you was planning on going there just a heads up👍🏻

@@LearnToRace I s*** myself for the first 5 minutes just getting used to the power difference, if you get the chance before you start racing try a session in the wet, you’ll need a new set of boxers haha 😂

Just watched the other half... some tips. So I've git a 56.6 in these things. So out of turn 1 minimise opposite lock as much as possible, turn 2 you were turning a bit before the curve, turn 3 didnt seem like you did anything wrong which also applies to 4 and 5. Turn 6 hug that inside kerb on the left then turn 7 flick it into there as quick as possible for turn 8. Turn 8 hug inside wall flick into 9. Lift before 10 let it roll have your foot gently keeping the revs up to reduce bogging down then floor it to the finish line! Hope that helps
The DMAX karts at Tamworth are actually DMAX-GT, which are very different to C100 karts, as they use sodi chassis's but C100 use Birel chassis. Sodi is much stiffer and heavier than Birel so they are slower and nowhere near as well balanced as C100 karts
Great first effort there mate. They can deffo be terrifying as you're heading for turn 3 with the thing screaming in your ears. A very respectable time for the first go out too. One of the big tricks for them is to always try and conserve momentum, and to never let the revs drop too low anywhere on track. Funny thing you mention Club100s Experience Novice championship! I'm doing that myself so will hopefully see you there? Are you doing a test session anywhere before the first race at the end of May?
Ah that's kool about the club 100 I can't make the may date so my first will be July if I'm comfortable enough in these karts by then I think that's the whilton mill date?

Only been karting once or twice but always wanted to try out this track... in a sodi of course!!
This is a fun track, get plenty of practice in with sodis, it's pretty hectic in the dmax

Yeah so I've learnt now, apparently the dmax karts at Milton Keynes are on the birel chassis so will have to pop down there to try them out some time

Try on top of lid cam. I use that no issue
Yeah I think that'll have to be the 1 or a side mount, although my helmet isn't expensive Im just not keen on a permanent mount plate stuck on it haha

@@LearnToRace the kart feels loads lighter in general, feels like it picks up speed better and the wheel is easier to turn👍🏻
