well, to be honest, he's a countertenor. Their vocal range is quite similar to an alto. Nothing surprising here. That's his natural vocal range. :)
He is not a countertenor because what you hear in this cover is his chest voice. Countertenors sing with their head voices. Loïc is a very high tenor.

probably because the song didn't really show his vocal talents. don't get me wrong, the song was great but he didn't have many high notes and vocal "challenges" in the song, he can do so much better is my point.
