Loved this scene and how much tension it had. Hirata and Horikita are probably the two most authentic people in the entire class and I love that about them. There's no deception or hidden agendas and they wear all of their intentions on their sleeves.
Hirata has a good reason for thinking this way. The anime skips over his entire backstory. Hirata’s friend in high school, Sugimura, was relentlessly bullied and he distanced himself from him to avoid being bullied himself. However, Sugimura attempted suicide by jumping through a window and was put into a coma. Now Hirata blames himself and has intense guilt for his inaction. This is why Hirata decides to help Kei and pretend to be her boyfriend, but refuses to help her when she wants to fight violence with violence rather than reach a peaceful resolution. Sugimura’s situation made him into a pacifist and gave him a collectivist mindset. Here he wants to prevent this kind of negativity from fostering in 1-D. The approach Horikita takes in smearing Yamauchi is fostering resentment and a mob mentality which Hirata thinks could be contorted into something more sinister in the future. His line about “what’s wrong with not having a plan” isn’t meant to be taken literally. He’s saying it’s better to vote blindly rather than oust someone publicly in the way they’re doing with Yamauchi. That way they don’t stoop closer to being like his former class which pushed his friend to suicide. While Horikita is right that it’s strategically wise to oust the least useful student and the most destructive one, from Hirata’s perspective, Horikita is the most defective for facilitating this public lynching. She looks at this situation from a black and white, “ends justify the means” perspective whereas Hirata believes her methods are deplorable.

My issue with hirata here is he’s ignoring the other factors at hand. He’s talking about friends turning on each other but the “friend” in question turned on them. It’s like if your getting laid off and you defend your coworker that’s had a history of antagonizing and bringing others down. His backstory was revealed during zodiac exam arc in LN but anime didn't adapt it. If that backstory was adapted, people would be able to understand this scene in much better way. Audience now thinks that hirata just liked playing hero and that he is being annoying and all. It's much deeper than that.
yamauchi is a liability, among the 3, Sudo has varsity basketball and is obedient to suzune, he is now cooperative to the class. Kanji maybe goofy but his not as arrogant as yamauchi remember kanji told off yamauchi to shut up and apologize to arinsu but what did the jester yamauchi do he proceeded to call arinsu clumsy and air head. yamauchi has always been arrogant while consistently being place last in class. he sealed his fate by bumping to arinsu.
nah, hes just one from the rest of npc of that class. hes so naive to the core i mean just like previous episode when they force to expelled of of their classmate he talk big , wise and all, dont want any of the classmate get expelled but he didnt make any plan anyway and when horikita give her opinion he become ptsd. he just another clown in that class just like yamagoat.
How are people even agree with Hiratas thinking. Scratch that he aint thinking nothing. He is just complaining and provides no solution. Yamauchi started a group behind the scenes to expel Ayanokoji and started throwing people under the bus after getting exposed. He was also meeting with Sakayanagi in secret and he doesnt even hide it well. After all that Hiratas opinion is basically "how dare you expose a guy". The "i dont give a damn if it's true or not" makes him look more stupid. And continues looking stupid while saying that Horikitas shouldnt be here just because she took the initiative to expose Yamauchi.
I find HIrata a bit infuriating during this whole ordeal. Sure, his backstory explains why he's like this but it's not helping anyone. He just complains about the proposed option without providing an alternative, like the problem isn't gonna magically resolve itself if you don't do something about it.
Well this is exactly his plan, to make everyone hates him and get expelled. You shouldnt blame that on someone with no power but tries to save everyone, you should blame someone with all the power but chose to observe, im sure you know who it is.
*LN readers could have different take. But here's my take on this scenario alone. Hirata is wrong here in almost all cases. Why? 1.) It's not kindness to let your whole class in chaos. Just because you can't judge someone. Every day, you are technically being judged by someone. If Ayanokouji got expelled, it has far more devastating consequences. 2.) No plan, no course of action. He had some days to plan for this, yet he didn't. He could have ensured some fairness, like an example not allowing groups to form, yet he didn't.
Hirata is like naruto where he thinks that talk no jutsu and the power of friendship can magically solve the problem but it doesn't work in classroom of the elite where the story is realistic horkita says that his way of thinking is idealistic it doesn't work in thier school that is logical
@dytgyfgyffuh243 no this is wrong also in a sense. The problem is naruto can do things though he fails. People can see value to his works. Think most of the time where he talk no jutsu people. It is almost every time where both naruto and the antagonist is defeated or wear out.
He tried to get expelled by doing that, thats his only plan. You shouldnt blame him when he is powerless but tries to save people, you should blame SOMEONE with all the power but chose to be silent, im sure you know who it is.
@kevinimation5508 first I'm not blaming someone. Second he is not powerless. Yes he try to do something but like when it is already too late. And as I said this is based on the anime.
Oh hirata, this school is simply not for you, already knowing that the institution is meritocratic after the revelation of the S system, it makes no sense for you to cling to that dream of wanting to save everyone and refuse to see reality. If Kiyo had not been in school to start your class would be a lost cause.
I do think this is a little hypocritical coming from Hirata when he did nothing to stop the class from voting Ayanokoji. It’s clear he’s to idealistic and maybe this just isn’t the school for him. Since it’s not just the students who act selfish but the staff that pushes the students to be selfish.
To me, he just looks like a hypocrite. It's understandable that he snapped coz of anger. However, talk about preaching why they would vote against a classmate, when he infact just said to vote out Horikita. While he was tryna fight for or against something, he instead became a part of it. Definitely Hypocrite. Meanwhile, I just love how Horikita handled the situation. @@belleflowers777 ye fr tho
Its not a act he just had his limits he's the true leader of the class but he has a dark past and trying to lead them put him into stress because there fodder and stupid with no ability to lead themselves
Ayanokoji
Kushida
Horikita
And him are technically the only ones who can care for themselves but if the others fail it could possibly bring down them also cause yknow the school is fucking rigged😂 they think they slick but ye just gotta use ya brain and think logically
More like his trauma and his true personality is the one when he abandon his mid school friend
Everyone in class during all this : 😔🙁😟😞
Koenji in the middle of the class, vibing : 😌
Hirata is kind but he just got stimulated and frustrated.. :(
Many might hate hirata for this but his character represented human’s most relatable from of anger. We normal people don’t go nuts like ayanokoji when mas but more like hirata we take the anger out on anyone and everyone, somehow that scene the reality gave me goosebumps. He obv knows just cuz he said people won’t vote for horikita out but he said whatever he wants in the anger. Oof
爽やかイケメンあるあるだよな、

My issue with hirata here is he’s ignoring the other factors at hand. He’s talking about friends turning on each other but the “friend” in question turned on them. It’s like if your getting laid off and you defend your coworker that’s had a history of antagonizing and bringing others down. Yamauchi tried to axed ayanokoji while horikita exposed and rightfully put him on blast for it. He’s confessing his ideals but ignoring and dismissing everyone else’s. Yeah this is brutal it’s more above Board then talking shit behind your back to expel someone good.
I like this part in the LN
Cause Hirata cursed a lot
AYO WHAT!?
WHAT DID HE SAY?
This show that how kind hirata is.
He's kind of an opposite of Kushieda now that I think about it 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Hirata went into his inner Gyutaro.
I prefer this version of him. Yea he's more childish but at least he's playing tot he sound of his own drum and no one else's.
Hirata backstory is not in the anime if you know about his backstory then you know why he did this.
Can u tell it?
@@rajuns7324 his friend attempted suicide in his previous school due to bullying, and hirata was a pussy at the time so he didn't do anything. since then he tried to protect everyone around him because of his ptsd. now he can't bear to the class falling apart and everyone ganging up on each other so he's slowly cracking up.
@@oreql9843so he's still a loser even in high school? He didn't do anything to protect Kei when she was being bullied. Only pretending to be his bf. That won't do nothing. I think if koji wasn't in ANHS, Kei would've also attempted s*icide...
@@skii_aini671 so basically he also used to use brute force methods to eradicate bullying from his school, and he was involved in a lot of scandals. that is actually the main reason he ended up in class d. kei requested him to take larger measures against manabe but hirata was reluctant since he had understood that bullying the bullies was also not right. she broke up with him because he was in stalemate in that position. but yeah, hirata also said that ayanokoji was much better than him at this stuff in episode 7.
@@skii_aini671 also, kei kind of avoided bullying by staying with hirata since because of her high status, a lot of people didn't dare to bully her, so she was kind of protected from getting bullied at all.
what a hypocrite. He told that he didn't want his classmates to get expelled and later said he'd vote for her expulsion 💀
I mean she was pissing him off🤣🤣
that's why he's in D class, they're all defects. if not he's easily an A class student
If someone is pissing you off so bad, then you would do the same
Hypocrite?he's doing that so everyone will hate him and get expelled.
he did that on purpose so everyone will hate him and expel him. otherwise he would have rallied everyone to vote horikita but didn't want anyone but himself to be expelled.
Every student in this school so Complicated, they're all have mental illnes...
These top tier side characters were assigned to the D class for a reason.
"Yes,do as you wish." She ate that😍😘😘

I really didn’t expect this from Hirata
Everyone has a dark side.
Its still normal for his character just his angry
ひたすら堀北が正論
Everyone only focusing Ayanokouji : "man, this episode is fired"
Meanwhile me who only focus on side characters development : 😈
If you rewatch the end or last day of survival island Hirata also do thing like this, its his character just complaining but not doing anything.
Ichinose is just better because she can control her class to unite and if problem happen she can solve it meanwhile Hirata only complain and be mad 😂
Yet Ichinose just so happens to be the leader of a competent class that's able to unite and despite that her own class is about to implode because of her shitty leadership that even multiple student in her class are pretty much revolting against her shitty ass. she couldn't solve multiple problems herself and had Ayanokoji help her all those times.
@@Karmasader atleast she searching for help to solve those problem rather than complaining like Hirata always did, he is just lucky to have Ayanokouji as classmate to solve everyproblem
@@rizkyhidayat147 While yes Hirata is lucky to have Ayanokoji in his class Ichinose is even luckier to have him in the school helping with her problems
Besides, he was hypocritical for consenting to the girls' commands and spending S points hiding that information from others, especially from the boys, so that in the end an incident would shock everything.
Well he haves a real trauma, its like when ichonose got destroyed by arisu for her trauma she couldnt do crap and stay in her room doing nothing than crying, so
Man ngl hirata need to flip his switch he been enduring these fodder characters stupidity for too long hirata need to pull a sasuke and go rouge💀

I think backstory of Hirata will be revealed in upcoming episodes and it will also be clear that why he ended in class D
His backstory was revealed during zodiac exam arc in LN but anime didn't adapt it.
If that backstory was adapted, people would be able to understand this scene in much better way. Audience now thinks that hirata just liked playing hero and that he is being annoying and all.
It's much deeper than that.
Ayanokoji was really Yosuke only true friend in this school.
Seiyuu joke: Bennett and Barbara got into a lover’s quarrel, and Eula intervenes.
yamauchi is a liability, among the 3,
Sudo has varsity basketball and is obedient to suzune, he is now cooperative to the class.
Kanji maybe goofy but his not as arrogant as yamauchi remember kanji told off yamauchi to shut up and apologize to arinsu but what did the jester yamauchi do he proceeded to call arinsu clumsy and air head.
yamauchi has always been arrogant while consistently being place last in class. he sealed his fate by bumping to arinsu.
nah, hes just one from the rest of npc of that class.
hes so naive to the core
i mean just like previous episode when they force to expelled of of their classmate he talk big , wise and all, dont want any of the classmate get expelled but he didnt make any plan anyway and when horikita give her opinion he become ptsd.
he just another clown in that class just like yamagoat.
My boy Hirata... 😢
I like how everyone in the show has personalitiy except the mc
The main character grew up in the white room. He never socialized with anyone. That's part of the reason why he doesn't show much personality.
Remember in order to be a king there are so many things you need to sacrifice

Damn like what Griffith did
Bro just very emotional
I'm not surprised if he ends up just like that "Adventurine" guy from HSR
I really like Hirata because he is such a good person but definitely a moment of my boy I love you but u gotta sit down lol
Hirata in this situation was so hilarious cause of the nonesense he was talking. Like he acted so dead serious but was talkin shit so badly lmao

Not sure what this scene shows, His stupidity or his willingness to want something he will never get
me thought : "THATS IT?"
He's naive, dense. Has good intentions but the effect is the opposite.
hence, was put to D class instead of A.
Unless he's *ehem*, every guy has this side that they never want other to see. 😂
He did propose and alternative, not having any plan just let his classmate choose and go for the result
@@mrjojo4425 That's not a viable option so that's not considered an alternative.

This is what Suzune does when they want Kushida expelled btw, and sadly it works
Get what the "teacher" is saying but really this so called test was nothing but cruelty
I remember the hero (LOL) from Arifureta. It was a pain.
Ngl, i cringed hard on this part 💀
Bro thought he is being intelligent, menacing and cold by showing his true identity 💀💀💀
Haa lol. There is a symmetrical order of male and female pupile in the classroom. 😂
Hirata definitely did something fishy
I thought Hirata told all the class to expel him did I read the novel wrong?
For all the light novel readers you know what chabishira is talking about. 🤫
Ayanokoji always wins because he is ice cold and i like that
Oh hirata, this school is simply not for you, already knowing that the institution is meritocratic after the revelation of the S system, it makes no sense for you to cling to that dream of wanting to save everyone and refuse to see reality. If Kiyo had not been in school to start your class would be a lost cause.
Well if kiyo has the power, he should've done something. Its not the powerless that should be blamed but its someone with power but chose to be silent
Hirata my boy I love you but u need 2 sit down
I do think this is a little hypocritical coming from Hirata when he did nothing to stop the class from voting Ayanokoji.
Every word she uttered were all on point.
Why so serious?
he kinda lost his fair judgement on things this time
Hirata vs Horikita in a fight who would win?
Horikita obv
Does Hirata learn martial arts like Horikita?
@@Take-aim-and-reload...so far, in the anime. He does not have any physical feat as he refuse to be violent to anyone. Idk about the LN. So I'd say Horikita win
@@gayatrisharma5320😂😂, hey pls Don't make me laugh , horikita ? Are you kidding , if you read the light novel , you will surely know that hirata was used to be a ruyen like person and was like a bad guy if he want he can easily destroy horikita
Forgive me to all the Horikita simps but Hirata would humble horikita with ease he's not into violence because of his past but if bro wanted he would have slapped Horikita so hard shed have no pride left😂😂 don't be setting them up for trauma
