oh hush ... now all these people will know about Barossa Valley wines. Penfold is a true experience :) The rest of 'em? Definitely worth time exploration ...

Max Shubert used to visit my boyhood home.
He used to give dad Grange for free.
      I have had a 1963 Grange.
It was liquid gold wrapped in velvet.

Our daughter moved to Adelaide years ago, and so visits to South Australia have occurred on a regular (pretty much yearly apart from 2020 - 2022) since. There's always something new to explore in the Barossa. Found a great chocolate shop in Tanunda last year, a brewery in 2023, and the cheese factory in Angaston is always worth a visit. Oh, and they have wine there too...

He never claimed to have done the research or written the script. He's just the story teller, and a good one at that

Australia produces the best wine in the world. My opinion, but I have tried a lot of wines.

Having lived in the Barossa for many years, it is a wonderful place to live. I note a sign for Apex Bakery in the video. World-famous for their pasties. People drive from interstate just to buy one. Made in a wood fired oven and spectacularly Barossa through and through. By the way Tony, although Penfolds Grange has the reputation, there are better wines than Grange these days in the Barossa. I will keep them secret as I collect wine, and don't want prices to skyrocket.

Great critique and credit for Tony... by the way, I've been wanting to visit Australia, could you PM me the vineyard you referenced?

Q: What did the grape say when it was run over by a car?
A: Nothing, it just gave out a little whine.🤣

25:23 even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't buy a wine that costed that much, just on principle. I'd feel bad for how many thousands of people I could have fed

I have a vine growing in my backyard from maribor slovenia which dates back 400 years. So, I'm not trying to be smug, but the vine mentioned here doesn't come close to oldest at all.

Love Tony's walks. As for the Barossa Valley, it's totally overrated. We expected to see undulating hills, deep narrow gorges more akin to the Scottish Highlands with the vines growing either side, not a flat expanse of land - where's the Valley?? Funny when you conjure in your mind how one thinks a certain place will look then you're disappointed when seeing it for real. Oh well, such is life.
