This is my grandmother’s favorite song. Shes 100 years old and will pass away any day now. Memories are heartbreaking. I learned to play this song on the piano just for her and she was so excited she started dancing. Will never forget that.
When I was in Taiwan she was just starting her career. Her songs bring back so many memories of my time in Taiwan as a missionary, and even the back up music with the etherial organ and accordion sends me back to the 60's. She sings with such what can I say sweetness, definitely a gift from above. The Japanese as well as the Chinese lyrics are just as beautiful. She sings with the voice of an angel and the body language is so so sweet as well. I will always love Deng Li Jun. I have heard many female vocalists from China but her voice and talent is unique and in my opinion unmatched by any other female voice per se as to what she could project in her medium. Too bad she could not have shared her talent in China. She always melts my heart, we need her today.
