We’re frugal travellers .. last minute booking all the time … getting the cheaper deals on 90 days ticker … no preference for newer or bigger ships .. but no river cruises … Our cruises (7) all embark in Europe or S.America(1) .. avoiding Asia (Mainlanders) … At least 13 nights … mostly Norwegian or Royal .. paying US$1300 pp roughly .. balcony only if price was within 30% inside or view … thought Royal’s dinner 6 or 830 was a pain in the ass … Norwegian anytime dinner was great .. We’re not picky .. thought all of our cruises were great .. going dining rather than buffet .. Ran into Rio carnival (exceptional) .. Enjoyed Iceland Norway .. and Mediterranean .. No hotels move for 2 weeks - PERFECT

I sailed 10 cruises since Oct 2021 with Carnival (Mardi Gras, Venezia), Norwegian (Joy, Breakaway, Getaway), Royal (Oasis) and Celebrity (Apex, Eclipse), overall the food quality at buffet and main dining room quality is getting worse and worse. Just came back from JOY on 9/17, there was NO hash brown in breakfast buffet and MDR, also salmon not on MDR menu. Even the specialty restaurant menu is significantly less choices (No duck at Le Bistro in Norwegian).
Viking new ships coming out beginning Dec 2024 are 10% larger. Viking Vela will be 239m (784ft) long and 30.8m wide, and have a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300t. It will feature ten decks housing 499 staterooms, with the capacity to host 998 guests.
@@TheAlan90014 yes. Especially if the port needs to connect with tender. It may takes an hour just to get on tender and then a other hour wait to come back.
New Ships over 20 tonnes are gimmick, there will be line up everywhere you go. Buffet, Main Dinning Room, Shows, etc. They are also at the top tier of the price. I would put destination first and book 5-10 years old cruise ships.

同意👍， 上新船期望有新船feel , 上舊船也預佢咗佢舊，但 old feel 同殘和不乾净 feel 係唔同，希望某些船公司注意下，越大噸位嘅船有一個好處 ，除非真係遇到好大風浪，否則係相對平穩，如易 seasick 嘅人，要留意下噸位 ，行程和出發季節，減低seasick 機會！估計船公司用較差免費buffet 逼多啲人去自費restaurants 這種方法機會不大，因容易做成明顯 ripoff ，客人條氣唔順就不回頭，得不償失！船票一次過包得越多免費嘢就越吸客 ，不用次次計住，俾得起也掃興，上到船就勿用這，勿用那來煩住啲客 ，追住啲客 ，holiday 就係要relax , 要happy , 要放縱 ，歌都有得唱，，，放縱，憑著放縱，，，😆😎

不新不舊的船，約十年左右的最好。行程，价格，設施，都是最貼切實惠。例如荷美的 Nieuw Statendam. 我一年内又再翻兜。
又一次多謝老郵條豐富的資訊。
同意年青家庭有兒童的多數人會坐新船。
中老年人，大部份行程都去過。會比較着重選擇行程及服務質素＇會揀一些中小型船。
又同意你所講，「無論新船或舊船，適合自己就是好船」！
我七月坐挪威人的Jewel去阿拉斯加，90年代設計的郵輪，非常好的體驗。
我之前好有興趣去試新船，現在最在意的是價錢，當我決定了行程後就揀最便宜的船坐。
我鍾意坐六萬噸以下的中小船，好似Oceana船客人數適中，上岸回船食餐不用排隊，非常爽!

我在暑假8月3號坐了Icon of the seas 加勒比航線，自助餐好高質素，下午都有龍蝦三款烹煮方法，其中有小盤三隻小龍蝦開邊的，很鮮甜美味，非常意外收穫。
去年搭NCL邮轮阿拉斯加航线，龙虾自费且唔新鲜

我今年五月去過，龍蝦食到嘔都得，足量供應，仲有焗三文魚，早餐嘅煙熏三文魚，冷盤有帶子、大只蝦、青口⋯⋯等等，使勿去收費餐廳吃啊，自助餐嘅好食嘢多到不得了。

我諗唔理新船或旧船，只要管理得好的就係好船。剛在冰河國家公園園區住過兩間管理得好好的上百年歷史的旅館，只會覺得古色古香，完全無破敗感。

只坐新船，因为地毡呕吐物含量比较少🤣
新船有個唔好處，就係雖然夠大，但係房間就相對較細。😂😂😂
房間只係沖涼瞓覺所用，大細間都冇問題，瞓一覺又走咗出去玩囉
